Customer reviews the new "oldFashioned" MetallicA by .. Krama (stgo, Chile) extremely acurate notes, killer riffs... incredible album!!!!
very good work of Cherry Lane!!!
Do they transcribe the Clipping? by .. Mattowarrior (Madison, WI United States) This transcription of the retail version of Death Magnetic is missing something obvious: there is no extra tablature to cover the noises made by the clipping on the album!
You would think they would at least an an extra line for the digital scratching. Alot of times in a tab book, Dream Theater's for example, they transcribe keyboard parts to guitar, etc, in case a guitarist wanting to do a cover of the piece doesn't have a keyboard player. Since there is no "digital distortion" player, we need an extra line for us to be able to reproduce the "crackles" live!
Death Magnetic by .. Devon M. May (Columbus, OH USA) The music book for Metallica's Death Magnetic is very accurate and why I bought it in the first place. it is better than trying to learn the songs on the internet which aren't as accurate.
Excellent Book by .. cenobite81 () Metallica truly went back to the basics with this album. As usual, Cherry Lane did an excellent job transcribing the album. This book is quite accurate, and nicely laid out. I only have two minor issues with this book.
The first - is lack of chord diagrams on the first page of each song like they did in the other tab books. Even though I am proficient in reading music, I found this feature nice.
The second - are some disconnects between the tablature and actual music notation. In some locations the music staff is indicating a low G, but the tablature is correctly notating an open low E. I am shocked this was not caught at the editing phase.
In any case, if you want to learn how to play the songs on Death Magnetic, this is a great start.
What a book !!!! by .. Eric Neveu (Montreal, Canada) This book is great , easy tabs to learn, it's clear and accurate. Only negative side: No pics or introduction and interviews with the band, like a lot of metallica's tab books

Don't waste your money by .. Chris Campbell (Victorville, CA United States) The transcriptions in this book are terrible. Even fairly easy songs like Hair of the Dog they got wrong. I'm sending mine back to Amazon.

Great Book by .. Jose Bonnin Cadogan (Asuncion, Paraguay) This is a very useful book to learn a wide variety of good songs, with detailed note-for-note transcriptions, as recorded by the artists. You might not find every single song you like, but you'll find classics like Tears in Heaven, new punk bands like Offspring and Blink, some other old stuff like Leaving on a Jet Plane, etc. More than 1000 pages, more than 100 songs. Awesome Book.
Some Strange Titles... by .. John (Spring Hill, Florida United States) I didn't see a listing of the songs included in this book, so I bought it on blind faith. Some strange, obscure titles by well known artists are included while their more popular songs were omitted-why, I don't know. If you want a variety of fairly tame tab, this book may be for you. As a part time working musician, I don't find this publication very useful. John Denver, but only one Led Zep tune? C'mon, Hal Leonard....

Customer reviews Good product by .. S. L. Beamer (Ohio) Bought book for 16 year old bass player son instead of lessons, as he's a self-taught player, and any lessons I've tried enrolling him for don't teach him anything he doesn't already know. Was more like just paying someone to sit there and play with him. This book gave him the new songs he wanted to play and the challenge he needed w/o having to pay outrageous prices for someone to give him new songs to play.
It does what it says on the tin by .. Callum Pearce (Perth, Australia) This is an excellent book. Good accurate tabs for lots of songs. Well priced. I can't imagine anyone having any problems with it.
Why buy Bass tab white pages by .. A. Harvie (England) As a 62 year old and having never played a guitar in my life I went out and bought a Yamaha bass.I got free lessons on the net from Andrew Pouska at www.studybass.com and bought Bass Guitar for Dummies by Patrick Pfeiffer an equally wonderful teacher .but I wanted to play real songs so bought what I consider one of my best buys Bass tab white pages. It contains a selection of songs to suit everyone.with this book you too could be like me after only three months of owning my own guitar I now play in my own band . GO FOR IT .
A great deal for players of all experience levels! by .. Mike Hall (McPherson, KS) Sporting a ridiculous number of spot-on transcriptions in a variety of rock genres, this book is an incredible value. It's useful for players both new and old, regardless of skill level: there are songs in here to challenge and entertain every sort of player, and I think every bassist would benefit from owning a copy. Heck, I've been playing for more than 20 years, and even I found plenty of new material to chew on inside this book!
Great! by .. The fuzz (Franklin MA USA) this book is great for anyone with a bass guitar.........it has lots of songs some of which are older but more recent and well known songs too.

Great Tabs by .. Elizabeth M. Beaulieu (Bangor, Maine) This book was an excellent resource for guitar tab music the only thing that would have made it a 5 star book would have been a cd with the music to have the chance to hear the songs.

Customer reviews poorly done by .. j (Cinci, OH) This has to be the most poorly edited collection available.
There is ABSOLUTELY no doubt in my mind that the editor was neither a music fan nor an acoustic guitar player but rather some lackey assigned the project who just looked up some playlists on the internet and copied some Hal Leonard Tabs into this collection. Why do I make this assumption?
1) Many of these songs are not even acoustic guitar songs, the note-for-note transcriptions must be completely rearranged to be adapted as solo acoustic guitar arrangments (in the cases where the songs can even be rearranged for acoustic guitar).
Just a few examples to this point:
Yngwie Malmsteen's "Black Star"
Firehouse "Don't Treat Me Bad"
Peter Frampton "Show Me the Way"
Ozzy and Lita Ford "Close My Eyes Forever"
Triumph "Fight the Good Fight"
2) This book does not contain acoustic guitar standards that one might expect.
a) Not a single Led Zeppelin song.
b) No STP, Pink Floyd, REM, Bon Jovi,Hendrix,Phish, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Sting or Rush
c) Just 1 song each by popular acoustic artists such as Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Eagles and the Grateful Dead. 2 by James Taylor.
d) very few Windham Hill players represented.
e) Zero classical guitar arrangements (unless "Dust in the Wind" is your idea of classical-style guitar)
Truth be told, there may be enough transcriptions of songs you will enjoy to make the book worth the $30 price tag; but certainly, this was a MISSED OPPORTUNITY for Hal Leonard to compile a definitive collection of the best acoustic songs.
Incredible Value!! by .. Robert P. Donaldson (Los Angeles, CA) I'm amazed that people have negative things to say about this book. This is one of the best values out there by far. I have played music for 25 years, have perfect pitch, went to music college, and still struggle to hear exactly what is being played at times. It's not always easy to find accurate sheet music either. Most free websites where guitar tab is posted by the authors are usually incredibly inaccurate, even when they say they know for sure that it is correct. Trust me, it's not. I own two of these books now and like them as much today as when I got them. Simple information like finding out the artist is using a capo or an alternate tuning can save you countless hours of wasted time trying to figure out how something is played. Yes, it is like a phone book, hence the title, "White Pages." However I don't find the print to be too small or the pages to be too thin, as another reviewer has reported. And while it is very detailed, so what. Nobody's forcing anyone to play note for note if they don't want to. The chords and rhythms are listed. You can play as generally or as detailed as you want.
The bottom line is that people will gladly spend $30 or more on a half-hour lesson for a teacher to teach them 1 of these songs, but they have problems spending the equivalent or less for a book that has 150 detailed songs with accurate tabs. That's less than .20 a song! You still with me? I use these books for only a handful of songs I wanted to learn, and still, it cost less than that 1 guitar lesson. If you're still questioning yourself whether you should buy it or not, stop beating yourself up. Buy it already! It's worth every penny.
Not worth it by .. Geoff (Chicago, IL) For the amount of songs included, the book lacks recent quality songs. A lot of the songs were of no interest to me and I rarely use the book. The format was reasonable although I am sure it could be improved. If you can't use the Internet to obtain your tabs, perhaps you would like this large, awkward, small-type, book of old songs.
Cheap made and very small print by .. Darkhorse () Very disappointing book. The book is thick as an oversized phone book which makes it hard to keep open. The cover and pages are so thin that they tear very easily. Although there are some accurate tabs, there are also some inaccurate or incomplete. What i dislike the most is the songs that use a capo like "Here Comes The Sun". The song is capoed at the 7th fret, so when the notes that read 7 they instruct you to hit all the 7 notes as open. You basicly have to rewrite the entire tab which is useless to me. There are several songs tabbed that way, although about 2 of them are tabbed the regular way. "Let's Live For Today" Tune Down 1 1/2 steps, "American Woman" is an open G tuning, a lot of BS. On the other hand there are a lot of songs that are good tabs and very useful, just don't expect the entire book to be good. Overall a good book but needs work. Be sure to have some good reading glasses.
a little confusing by .. P. A. O. Rourke () This is a great selection of songs for the price. The only fatal flaw is that the tabs are TOO detailed. Some people may like to know every single missed note, mistake, or partial strum in the song, but for me, I find that the book sacrifices practicality for the sake of accuracy. I much prefer a little less detailed (and easier to use) tabs like those in Warner Bros. "Greater Guitar White Pages".

Customer reviews Excellent guitar book by .. Betty R. Johnston () The Guitar Hero songbook was purchased for my grandson. He is a beginning guitar player and loves it. I would recommend it to anyone who plays guitar whether a beginner or otherwise. The service was prompt.
Great book! by .. M. McNelly (San Jose, CA USA) This book was great! Has all the TAB and piano notes to play all the songs on Guitar Hero. My son and I love it.
Great book for GH fans! by .. M. Thomas () As a guitar hero player who has drifted more into the real deal, I can definitely say that this book is great for people who are just getting into guitar playing, especially former guitar hero players.
The thing I like best about this book is that everything is in music notation and tab, which holds no comparison to online tabs on the net (Hal Leonard always delivers quality products). It really helps to be able to know what kind of note and how each note is played. If you know how to read the time signatures, you can even grab a metronome and build up your speed on the solos while you learn them (my favorite part about the book). The notation legend in the back is really helpful if you're not familiar with all the possible symbols in tab.
Having played through most all of the GH games, I recognize all of the songs easily after playing them hundreds of times on the games. This really helps you learn different sections faster because you can better understand how it really sounds outside of the book. You won't excel at everything immediately, but that's the fun of playing the instrument.
The book has a really good selection of songs from the first two games, although there are a few songs that I wish had made the cut. I think 40 songs is still a good amount to have in the book.
Something I don't like is that I've noticed a few spots that are incorrect (by sound); maybe they just don't sound right to me. I figured out how to play parts the way I wanted to though, tweaking the sound to my liking, so it was no big deal.
I'm sure it's been stated earlier before, but people who are new to the guitar will undoubtedly have trouble with some parts as the difficulty of the songs varies. Most of the difficult parts involve techniques that develop with time playing the guitar; so don't expect to pick up a guitar and this book and start flying through all the songs in a week. It's going to take time and dedication, and is 100% worth it in the end.
However, if you don't want to start your guitar playing with this book I highly recommend taking lessons. Doing so can only make you better, especially if you're new to the instrument.
A Lot Better Than One May Expect by .. S. Pelan (Seattle, WA USA) I was a little hesitant to purchase this book initially because I feared it may be riddled with video game graphics throughout and just not something I would use. I was wrong and this book is fantastic. Much like the game, once I tried it, I found that it was really well done and well worth the money.
This book contains 40 songs which are very detailed and are written in staff, tab and rhythm slash. There is also a legend in the back to help explain the notations used throughout the book. For anyone who isn't sure about note bending or how to hammer-on, this is useful. I'd also say that the physical layout of this book is better than some others that I've seen and own. The page size and binding were both done deliberately to help keep the book open and flat on a table without you having to keep putting your hands on it. This is really helpful because you want to focus your hands on the guitar not the book when reading it. Only the first and last songs needed an extra weight to hold the pages in place.
I've had this book for just over a month and I've gone from being initially hesitant to realizing this book was very well done and if I lost it, I would quickly purchase it again - and after the Table of Contents, there are no more video game graphics.

Awesome book. Awesome idea. by .. Todd C. Reich (Los Angeles, California) I encountered this book at the NAMM show and it was one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" ideas. The Guitar Hero series is known for its list of more or less legendary rock songs, so this creates an awesome compilation of songs to learn and is a fantastic addition to any (aspiring) guitar hero's arsenal. Almost all the songs are, to some extent, extremely recognizable and they range from easy enough for a newbie to intricate enough for a seasoned guitar slinger. Really, if you play the guitar hero series and you play the guitar (or want to learn to play the guitar), you owe it to yourself to get this book. Hal Leonard puts out fantastic tabs, and this book is no exception. These tabs will undoubtedly leave you much better off than any tabs you could scour off the internet.
Regardless of how you play guitar or what style you play, it never hurts to have a couple instantly recognizable songs in your repertoire, and you can always derive some ideas from the licks and riffs you learn. Plus, if you're a performing musician, this book has a great many songs that are excellent to throw into your show now and then, simply because it's a pretty sure bet that the 12+ demographic will recognize it.
In summary, this book is just plain heavy metal. If you're looking for songbooks, this really belongs at the top of the list.

These self-adhesive tabs can reduce the time spent searching to find key information. Tabs are durable and allow for positioning adjustments after being placed on the code paper. Affordable and time-saving, these are a must-have for NEC® users. Customer reviews N.E.C. tabs by .. Peter H. Taylor (Dallas, Tx) This is a great help in locating chapters and topics that you are researching. It would be difficult to use the N.E.C. without them. I highly recommend them.
Great tabs by .. Echosyn (Dallas) Tabs are well constructed, but if you use your code book a lot the thin pages might tear at the tab edges. I prevent this by applying a short strip of quality clear tape across the tab attatchment area.
NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE 2008 TABS by .. CAJUNN (HOUSTON, TEXAS) THESE TABS WILL TRULLY SAVE YOU A LOT OF TIME. THE HANDBOOK IS ONE OF THE THICKEST BOOKS I OWN AND THE TABS SURE MAKE IT A LOT SIMPLIER WHEN YOU NEED TO FIND A CERTAIN SECTION. NOT SURE WHAT THE OTHER REVIEWS ARE REFERENCING, SEEMS PRETTY CLEAR TO ME WHAT I BOUGHT.
NEC Code book by .. Marvin C. Smith (Las Cruces,N.M.) I thought I was ordering a paperback book,I received a looseleaf book.I don`t know if the mistake is mine or a misprint.I do know that thr NEC Tabs are not a CD Rom, they are sticky back tabs that stick to the page to locate articles in the book quicker.I`m pretty sure I saw "paperback"and I don`t recall seeing "looseleaf".In either case bold print identifying paperback or looseleaf would be most helpfull.
Mislabeled Title Description by .. Alexander S. Kish (Sunapee, NH USA) Yes the product title is incorrect, but the rest of the description is absolutely correct. It should be obvious to even the most casual observer that the tabs go into the book - as the "better together" section clearly shows. There are many other sources for these items that do describe them properly, but be prepared to pay more.
So here's the choice: Pay less and be infinitely irritated that Amazon made a small, insignificant listing error out of the billions of listings they have, or buy it for more money elsewhere, but be content in the knowledge that the description was correct.
Sheesh.

Customer reviews Nice! by .. Luis A. Pagan (Virginia) What can I say. I got this book for my wife and she loves it. Even her guitar instructor wanted to steal it. A book two with other of the Led Zeppelin's songs would be nice :-)
Good reference which is short on accuracy by .. Customer (Pensacola, Florida United States) This is a good reference for assisting in the composing many of Led Zeppelin's works. There is music notation for vocals, lead guitar and rhythm guitar. The accuracy is questionable in many areas but it does a fairly good job as a starting resource.
led zepplin classics by .. Brian F. Goodrich (bfg123) The delivery was great .The book was ok but needed the guitar scales to play lead the music, if you read music which i don't know how, and taps are not complete on how to play the songs like they did .
Golden Classics on 256 pages! A Zeppelin must-have! by .. Tangerine () I only wish this book contained ALL the songs! The tablature is outstanding and truly what any major Zeppelin guitarist fan is looking for. The solos are included, and unlike "Led Zeppelin Complete," this is a reliable, well-put-together arrangement of GREAT Zeppelin songs. The only bad thing about it is that the fabulous maker of the book did not transcribe MORE songs! At $15.72, this is the best deal for classic Zeppelin tabs, BELIEVE ME! "Dazed and Confused" is soooo intricate, giving me MORE than I asked for! And when I flipped to "What is and What Should Never Be," I realized just how much sense this book really makes. Definitely for experienced guitar players with ears "experienced" in the sound of LED ZEPPELIN. This book will help you to better understand the music behind the madness of this quartet. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED--grab this gold before it is gone!!
Zeppelin by .. C. Daniel () All I have say is "Wow" this book is incredible. I've been playing guitar for about 3 months now, and I'm a HUGE Zeppelin fan so I decided to get this book. I think I might have bit off a little more than I can chew. I can play the riffs from a few songs, but that's about it. But, as they always say "Practice makes perfect." If you're experienced with a guitar, I would HIGHLY recommend this.

Product Description Arranged for Guitar Tablature & Standard Notation With Lyrics This imported folio contains some of the most classic Pink Floyd songs. Customer reviews You'll be surprised how well you play Floyd by .. Siskbert (FL) You'll be surprised how well you play Pink Floyd with the help of this book. The transcriptions are excellent and the price is great. I got it because on the DVD of the making of Dark Side, Gilmour and Waters are separately shown playing solo acoustic versions of some songs and they sound great. This book will show you how to do that or sound great plugged in.
Another Brick in the Wall (Parts 1&2), Astronomy Domine, Brain Damage, Breathe, Comfortably Numb, Eclipse, Goodbye Blue Sky, Have a Cigar, Hey You, If, Is there Anybody Out There?, Money, MOther, Not Now John, On the Turning Away, Remember a Day, See Emily Play, Shine on You Crazy Diamond (Part V), Welcome to the Machine and Wish you Were Here.
No Songs From Animals??? by .. Kimberly A. Sodano (Tucson, AZ USA) The tabs are pretty accurate and intensive as far as covering most of the guitar parts (and some of the keyboard) played in the recordings. My only disappointment was that not one song from "Animals" was included. "Dogs" would have been the one I would have selected. Despite this flaw, it is worth the money.

Product Description Selected around the world as one of the best albums of 1997, OK COMPUTER features brilliant and innovative guitar work. Titles are: Airbag * Paranoid Android * Subterranean Homesick Alien * Exit Music (For a Film) * Let Down * Karma Police * Electioneering * Climbing up the Walls * No Surprises * Lucky * The Tourist. Customer reviews Paranoid android is harder then it looks by .. N. McMillan () I ordered both this book and the In Rainbows tab book at the same time. If you're trying to choose between the two, go with In Rainbows. Not only is the tabliture larger and easier to read, it also comes with music for all instruments used, where Ok Computer does not.
And that guy is right, the font for tabs is pretty damn small. That doesn't really make it not worth buying, though.
tiny font and sparse tabs by .. E. Pan (CA) This book does seem fairly accurate, but a warning for other tab readers (versus music readers): This book has the tiniest font ever! I have perfect vision and sometimes I misread it. Also, this book might require some ability to read music (rhythm notation). I know music theory but reading tabs is so much easier!
Basically, this publisher has their style which I find much less readable and logical than say, Hal Leonard "Recorded Versions Guitar" or Play It Like It Is Guitar "Note-for-note transcriptions" publications that are much more common.
This publishing style has no advantage over the earlier two mentioned and the earlier two lack nothing this OK Computer book has. Meaning: if you want to have the clearest possible transcriptions for guitar for this or any album, go find a Hal Leonard "Recorded Versions Guitar" or Play It Like It Is Guitar "Note-for-note transcriptions" publication. The problem is, older books are often hard to find!
Good luck and happy playing!
A great companion for all fans of OK Computer by .. () If you play guitar and dig Radiohead, get this book. It's got the music and arrangements for all the songs on OK computer in a fairly legible tab format. It's a bit different from other tab books I have, but it's fairly easy to get the hang of. The album's guitar work is so dense, I really benefitted from seeing all the notes laid out in front of me, especially for paranoid android. While I still can't follow the picking pattern exactly, I can fake it pretty well!
good choice especially if your a fan by .. () The book is pretty easy to follow. Paranoid android is not. However i'm not great at the guitar
radiohead...need there be more said?! by .. () Tab books...specifically the radiohead ones, started me teaching myself the guitar, and its been lots of fun!! its just soo great to feel the satisfaction of playing your favourite songs.
