Very prompt - unfortunately the class was canceled due to low enrollment so I have not needed to use the book. I hope next semester uses the same book so I can get it's full benefit.

The Immune System is adapted from Immunobiology by Janeway, Travers & Walport. New in the Second Edition: -Inclusion of end-of-chapter questions throughout the book. Customer reviews Pretty good by .. Kiarah C. Whitehead (Rochester, NY USA) It gets the information across and I haven't fallen asleep yet. I'm only on chapter two and I can tell its going to get much harder but its not bad and it has helpful pictures contrary to what my professor thinks. They get the point across very well and any undergraduate should be able to understand them. I would keep this book and thanks to Amazon it isn't too expensive.
Concise and accessible by .. Michael A. Hays (Morgantown, WV United States) This is a superb textbook. The prose is easy to read, somehow managing to be concise without sacrificing accessibility. Important concepts are explained very lucidly, and then repeatedly touched on throughout the book, ensuring that they stick with the reader. Also worthy of mention are the book's many figures, which illustrate mechanisms and processes very clearly. This stands out as one of my favorite texts from my medical education; I wish all my books were so easy to read. A great resource for anyone studying the immune system.
Is it really all that great? by .. William Mcfadden (USA) Here is the deal, this is not a quick read. I heard so many good things about this book that I was convinced it would be a piece of cake to read. Lets all get real. Immunology is not a simple subject for any book, and this one doesn't make things any different. The author doesn't have the magical touch to explain things in a clear many any more than another author does. It reads just like a molecular biology textbook would. However, it does have its strong points. The book is only about 450pg long, which is slim for a text. All of the main ideas can be understood by looking at the pictures and reading the captions to the picture. The author also has summary paragraphs, most of the time there are two per chapter with a full chapter summary at the end. Every chapter ends with good questions that make you think. Overall, however, the real power of this book is the pictures with captions. The entire book can be understood from these alone. For this reason I recommend having the book, but it isn't going to be the key to success for everyone.
This book is quick to the point by .. Nimat Fatohi () I hate most of my bio books because they aren't very quick to the point that we need to understand and know; however, this book is not bad at all. It could've been better and it's not as specific as my Prof but it's good enough to use for the couple next years.
Very good, clear written and easy to read! by .. Yehuda Malul (Holon, Israel) Shalom everyone, I am a 4th year medicine student in Italy.
I have bought this book since I was about to start a rheumatology and clinical immunology course.
I found that "The Immune System by Peter Parham" is a very clear written book, filled with colorful diagrams and very simple to understand pictures.
Every paragraph starts with a subtitle, a preview and very slowly, it proceeds from the most simple and general descriptions to the deepest. Important are the short phrases it's made of, there almost no long complex phrases. Brick after brick.
The book is very easy to understand, yet very comprehensive. I read a third of the book in less than a week, and I found I remembered most of it, without even repeating it too much.
At the end of every chapter there are open questions with full answers at the end of the book.
One of the important qualities this book have is that it made me curious about immunology! I have already a B.A. degree from the Hebrew university and I have already studied immunology, but now, for the first time I find it interesting and complex, yet Peter Parham explains it in a very clear way.
I wish I had more books written by this author... I know I should write something negative about the book, for the balance or integrity, but tell you the truth, I find none. It's not cheap, but worth every euro.
Yehuda Malul, Italy.

The premise for this unique approach is that business initiatives drive technology decisions in a corporation. Every discussion first addresses the business needs and then addresses the technology that supports those needs. This text provides the foundation that will enable students to achieve excellence in business, whether they major in operations management, manufacturing, sales, marketing, etc. BDIS is designed to give students the ability to understand how information technology can be a point of strength for an organization. Customer reviews Boon to Ritalin industry by .. James Tracy (Okinawa, Japan) You can pretty much judge this one by its cover. It's very shiny and contains a grammatical error right in the title. Nearly half of the book is occupied by graphics and other visual aids. Personally, I felt like I was developing ADD reading this book. I was constantly being diverted away from the text by figures that more often than not added nothing of value. The book is fairly shallow and is oriented to young business majors with zero technical background. One positive aspect was that it provided plenty of real-world examples. For those from CS or MIS backgrounds, this is certainly not worth the ~$120; you probably already know half the book already. For business majors I can't judge, although I would consider it to be a light introduction. A must have for connoisseurs of shiny objects.

Http://irakechips.com (Minnetonka, MN) My comments are based on the original book, not any re edits or revised editions. If you look online, you should be able to find an ebook of Charles Hannel's original for free, since the book is over 75 years old it is in the public domain. Personally I spend all day in front of a computer, so it's nice to take a break and read an actual physical book, and I like to circle, highlight and write on.
This book is incredible, I think this was probably "the secret" original edition since it was introduced in 1903, predating napoleon hill and several others. TO my knowledge this is the first book that mentions the "law of attraction" but it mentions several other laws as well. Although Prosperity through thought force
You could honestly come up with probably a chapter of material if you took each key point and went into detail describing it. But the information in this book is absolutely compacted to the max, no fluff at all. Honestly you could spend a long time just thinking about each section.
Unfortunately because it goes and lists everything, I know that some people will not find it a book that you can read through.
This is one that although it makes sense, it isn't an easy read. There's just so much information to take in, that most people will have difficulties reading it.
It isn't like chewing through a hard to swallow think hide meat though, it's more like very rich dessert that you want to savor.
But although it's a difficult book, this is still probably the best book I have ever read in my life. It's amazing that a book can have such deep profound information locked into every chapter. I read this prior to viewing "The Secret", and was actually very disappointed in the secret because it simply doesn't do the law of attraction justice.
I haven't even finished this book yet because I like to absorb my time and take it in.
If you put all the success books out there together, you will still probably have more information in this one.
I love how it actually logically and factually explains the law of attraction, and explains through the cause and effect how it all works.
Seriously, if you are thinking about getting this book get it. If you don't want to pay for it, search for it google and download it.

The Master Key System by .. Arlene M. Benjamin (Northeast, Pa. USA) I found this book after watching the movie The Secret. It is absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone who desires to grow in life. The 24 week course laid out in the book, will assist you in developing your inner abilities, such as the ability to visualize and since our mind thinks in pictures, it is a wonderful tool to develop.
This is a great book.
The Master Key System by .. Abdul J. Mahdi (Baltimore, MD United States) This is one of the most powerful books ever written for those seeking to increase or find... both mental and spiritual power. In my opinion, it is one of the greatest books ever written for those in search of self development and spiritual growth. This is not a novel... it is a course for self development and spiritual power. I will be forever grateful to Chalres Haanel for the knowledge he has givem to me and mankind in this blessed work. Buy it (while you can), if you are not ready for it now, keep it, until you are in the right spiritual frame of mind.. to understand it.

Product Description Database Systems: Design, Implementation, and Management, Eighth Edition, a market-leader for database texts, gives readers a solid foundation in practical database design and implementation. The book provides in-depth coverage of database design, demonstrating that the key to successful database implementation is in proper design of databases to fit within a larger strategic view of the data environment. Updates for the eighth edition include additional Unified Modeling Language coverage, expanded coverage of SQL Server functions, all-new business intelligence coverage, and added coverage of data security. With a strong hands-on component that includes real-world examples and exercises, this book will help students develop database design skills that have valuable and meaningful application in the real world. Customer reviews Unnecessary new revision every year by .. Danny Cooper () I'm a technical person but have very little DB experience and purchased the book because I had to for a college class. I feel the book was simply OK. Some points were made well others I had to read several times. Over all the explanations were not as concise as I would like but in all fairness DB concepts are hard to explain. The overall layout was good however I think there should have been more attention during the intro to familiarize the reader with DB's and the related concepts before delving in to the details of each phase of DB creation.
My only real gripe is that a new revision is published every year and the previous version of the $100 + dollar book becomes worthless. To save money I bought the previous version and found all the material I needed. However for the final exam the instructor of the online class gave us page numbers to use as reference so I was forced to buy the latest version which was the same book with a few new references...
If you are buying this book for reference or if you are buying this because you are taking a face to face class I recommend that you buy the previous version required by the instructor at a greatly reduced cost. You may be able to do this w/ an online class if the professor (or classmates) are flexible and willing to help reconcile the different page numbers.
Not impressed by .. Toubiers (Mpls, MN USA) The online content is finally up, but that's still the stupid part about it. It comes with a sleave in the back to fit a CD, they should've just waited and released the content with the book. It's very annoying to have to log in and find this crap all the time.
Another thing, as a student, I hate how much this book wants you to keep drawing ERDs! Relationships are not that hard to understand, we don't need to keep drawing ten diagrams each chapter. It's even worse for students that are required to turn in digital copies for assignments, because that means you should probably already have Visio and the understanding of how to use it. Maybe if they wrote a preface chapter on some Visio basics of how to make ERDs look like theirs would help some.
I'm not at all impressed with this book.
MIssing Material by .. Phoebe H (Chicago, IL) Book does not come with the student content that it is suppose to come with. It is supposed to come with online appendices A though L and downloads for files used in each chapter. I would not advise to by a 130 dollar incomplete book. It was release in December of 2007 unprepared for people to use because it makes references to sites and files that don't exist but are supposed to. Signed Cheated patron. I want my money back.

Customer reviews Detailed introduction with lots of recent information on Operatin Systems by .. Hanoch Raviv () I purchased this book for a class I take in operating system in local college. I like most about this book is the flow of information and the relative clear view about the subjects discussed. It is easy to read and to follow.
In addition, there are the slides that accompany the text and can be used in a classroom or as an overview of the material.
Great Book by .. Chris Mcclanahan () Although I had to buy this book for a class, I do enjoy reading it. The book stays current by focusing on modern multi-core processors, and relating most concepts to Linux, Windows, and Solaris (plus sometimes others) operating systems. It is fairly easy to read, and there are programming exercises at the end of each chapter to highlight concepts. This book will definitely get your feet wet when learning operating system concepts.
Good... by .. J. Garibay () The only comment is that the cover is a bit damaged (the corners) everything else was ok.

Product Description Building on the proven pedagogy of its predecessors, Systems Analysis and Design, Sixth Edition presents a clear introduction to systems analysis and design. Students will find concepts easy-to-understand through the clear writing style and full-color figures that illustrated current technology and trends. Customer reviews Good as an introductory text to System Analysis by .. Konstantinos o Philosophos (Southern CA USA) There are few things I can say after reading this book pretty much from cover to cover:
- Nowadays there are lots of critics of structured SAD, so if you're happen to be one of them, I am pretty sure you will not give this text a good grade. While it does cover Object-Oriented SAD, it is not build upon it. This text (as it seems to me) is revolves around structured SAD using SDLC.
- I liked this text because it has LOTS of colorful diagrams, screen-shots, and charts. This gives a text more alive presentation and makes it more fun to read, even though you're getting lost in terms and abbreviation.
- The text has plenty of abbreviations because SAD process integrates all system components. You can imagine how much data that is, especially considering the fact of collecting that data and organizing it.
- I thing this text by itself will not make you an system analyst. You will need to read more, but it serves well as an introduction to SAD.
The obvious negative thing - these editions that coming up new each year are costly for students, but this is a issue of all comp. textbooks, not just this.

It's a Textbook by .. Jim Cox (Philadelphia, PA) It's a textbook. As textbooks go, it's pretty good. Very few textbooks are really worth the prices that are demanded.
As is typical with textbooks having to do with technology, there are many errors. Most glaring are the online audio files that do not match up with the text. Presumably, the textbook has changed, but the audio files have not.
All textbooks, especially those in engineering and technology concentrations, should be made available on the Internet at significantly reduced prices.
Not very good for a new comer by .. J. Shuryan (Jacksonville, FL) This book does contain some good information. The problem, however, is that it is not easy to read or follow. This book contains too many non useful graphics and not enough detailed examples. In other words it's real pretty. At the end of each chapter there are Case Studies for the students. In many cases the book did not give enough information on how to complete them properly. I often found myself searching the internet to find answers. This book might be good for someone that has worked as an IT professional. As a new comer, however, I wouldn't recommend it. I'm going to search for a better book.
Great delivery response time. by .. Siobhan () The item was shipped promptly and arrived in great condition. Thanks so much for the timely shipping, as the text was used for spring semester at school.
Good overview of SAD but not good for serious SAD study by .. Andrew Ling (Brisbane, Queensland Australia) For beginners to Systems Analysis & Design I would recommend this textbook, however do not rely on this for a serious study of Systems Analysis & Design. This book is easy to read, but the "This technique is so great, note - there are some disadvantages" can get annoying at times. Maybe this book could be used as an overview of SAD for managers. Also, the Student Study Guide provided on CD-ROM with the text is not useful for quick review of the text for an exam as each chapter takes up 80 slides and each review of each chapter takes a while to read.
