Customer reviews Sims 2 Land by .. Brenda Holdridge (Jackson, MI USA) A good book to have around if you want to play the game the way it was intended. It is interesting and helpful, again, for those of you that play the game.
Seasons have arrived! by .. S. Bray () I live in a climate where the season change so I was happy to see my Sims season change too. I love that you can set your own season; so if you want it to snow all the time you can set that. I love the little add-ons like the sun burn or turning blue if your outside for too long. The details are what makes this game/expansion pack enjoyable.
I'm having a hard time with getting my trees to produce fruit though...
The best yet by .. Debra A. Smith (Park Falls, WI United States) I have been a fan of the Sims since the very beginning and own every expansion but this is the best for the Sims 2. The changing of the seasons really brings reality to the game which is what we Sims fans really want. It feels so much more real to see it snowing or raining. I also love the gardening aspect of the game. You need to really tend to things to get your gardening skills to grow and it's alot of fun. I have all the original Sims games and expansions and also everything for Sims 2 but if I had to suggest only one expansion to get it would be this one. It is definitely the best so far.
Very Helpful by .. Providencia Borgstadt () This guide was very helpful in that it gave insight to a great deal of new things the Seasons Expansion Pack had to offer. Without the guide it would have taken me some time to find and utilize these new features. Knowing about the new features and how they work made gameplay much more interesting. The guide has a great layout for finding things.
Sims 2: Seasons for the Mac by .. Kim VanderLaan (Ontario, Canada) I've had limited time to play since installing this latest expansion pack to The Sims 2, but when I've played, I've really enjoyed the new features, careers, activities, etc. The added game content is well worth the price of this expansion! If you enjoy The Sims 2, you will definitely enjoy this expansion!

Product Description Tips for Controlling Chaos using the Rod of Seasons Time Travel tactics using the Harp of Ages How to use the Innovative Link System Statistics on all of Link's Friends and Enemies Comprehensive maps outlining every searchable area Customer reviews Prima drops the ball by .. Clinton M. Doughty (Houston, TX) I must say that I've been playing Zelda games since 1987 when the first one was released. I've been using Prima guides for Zelda games since the first book came out in the early 90s covering "A Link to the Past". Since then I've been using Prima Guides ever since after beating the Zelda games at least once in order to find the secrets I just couldn't find prior, and I have always found Prima to be the BEST at making guides, particularly for Zelda games. In fact, I can categorically say that their guide "Link's Awakening DX" is one of the best ever released for any game in the industry. Now I am faced with two very recent exceptions. One is their guide for "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker", and the other is this guide. In fact, this guide isn't just bad for Prima, it is possibly the worst Zelda guide I have ever tried to use. As mentioned I had already beaten the games, each twice: Once starting with Oracle of Seasons, and then linking to Oracle of Ages, and then once starting with Oracle of Ages, and linking to Oracle of Seasons. Yet even after beating these games, and knowing most of the secrets and details of both of them, I found this guide EXTREMELY confusing. I couldn't easily map my experience to the guide's content, and often found it in error. It was difficult to view the maps, as they were very small, and usually sectioned off with little context. The details of game play were simply not instructive (or even comparable) to direct game play. The best thing about it was the cartoons, but that is the most cosmetic and least instructive thing about the whole guide. I suggest skipping this guide altogether. Heck, even the Nintendo Power guide was better than this one. I won't be giving up on Prima, but I hope this latest trend doesn't continue.
Ummm.. by .. (FL United States) its a good guide. I think i could have managed w/o it though.
Too confusing by .. (Racine, WI United States) I was disappointed in this book. It's too much page flipping. If you don't do EXACTLY what the book says, you get totally lost!!! I quit playing the game early out of frustration. That's just me. OH well.. if you decide to buy this, have patience...
I STINKS MAN!!! by .. Ethan (Mt. Pleasent Mills,PA) This book is the WORST zelda book EVER!!! The map are so tiny! I need a microscope to see the it! It make me and my friends so confused! I would suggest to get The Lengend of Zelda oracle of Ages&Seasons from Versus Books.
Could be WAY better by .. () I'll list the pros and cons of this book one after the other; hopefully it's not too confusing... Pros: A great enemy list! Okay boss strategies Only guide so far to use coordinates (I find that fact surprising; the Zelda games are THE games to use coordinates with!) Has an okay section about passwords Nice cartoons Cons: Maps are TINY, boundaries not well marked, does not show inside of houses Screenshots are small and blurry Walkthrough is confusing; it might say something like, "In the next room, push the block and open the chest. In the next room, use the key," and it doesn't give details on WHICH keyhole to use the key on, and WHICH room is the "next" one. The could have used coordinates to their advantage way better than they did The whole thing is somewhat monotonous Cartoons, while cool, are VERY distracting. They are just plopped down anywhere; you might be in a section when you're encountering Zoras, and right there is a picture of a Goron! Some AWFUL typos; it got me all confused about the Harp of Ages. It said that the Tune Of Currents made a temporrary Time Portal, that the Tune of Ages activated Time Portals, and that the Tune of Echoes gave you tital freedom to travel in time. Then it said that you wouldn't get the ToC until later on in the game. The real scoop on the Harp is this: The Tune of Echoes (the frist tune you get) activates Time Portals; the Tune of Currents (the second tune you get) lets you move from the past to the present (it does create a temporary Time Portal, but that's not it's main purpose) and the Tune of Ages lets you go from Past to Present and Present to Past. Those typos really got me mixed up. Overall, this guide seemed like it was carelessely slapped together, and though it has some stuff you won't find in the Versus Guide, it has a lot more stuff that Versus does WAY better in.

A Person (I dont know) This is a great book if you are a huge American Idol fan and you want to know behind-the-scenes stuff. There's a lot of info. about each of the contestants as well, from their favorite color to their birthday. My favorite AI% was Jessica Sierra.
But, I have one question: Where's the Season 5 book? :)
GREAT BOOK! by .. GARRET (txusa) WHEN you read this book it will let you know what happend
behind the scencs of american idol! and you will also learn
more about the top 12.MY favorite idols are CARRIE UNDERWOOD
and LINDSEY CARDINLE they are fantastic singers.IF only
lindsey wasnt voted off so quickly! BUY THIS BOOK its AWESOME!
This book is cool! by .. Bubbles () This book is pretty good. There are some bad things like since it was published and released before Carrie Underwood won, they don't show the winner like screaming, crying, being happy, blah, blah, blah. I watch the show every night and never missed an episode. The top 12 finalists are Lindsey Cardinale, Mikalah Gordon, Jessica Sierra, Nikko Smith, Nadia Turner, Anwar Robinson best!, Constantine Maroulis, Scott Savol, Anthony Federov, Vonzell Soloman, Bo Bice, and Carrie Underwood. They are in order in which they were eliminated from AI. The best is Anwar Robinson because he just sings great, looks great, never nervous, and so on. I think he should have been voted off near the end. Overall this book is awesome.
The Perfect American Idol Book! by .. () This book is a great book to get to know the Top 12 a little better. It has quick facts, pictures, and a bio of each of them. Plus some behind the scences stuff, never- before seen pics, and them shopping, etc. When I met the Top Ten (but not Bo), I had them sign their page, and it worked out great. I love it!
American Idol Season 4 book review by .. Samuel J. Doty () I thought it was a good book, had lots of good quality pictures in there. The only complaint I have with it is it came out too early. It should have come out after the season was done so they could have the last final weeks in there and the winner showing her happiness. That's the only complaint I have is it should have been published after the season was over with. Otherwise it was a good book.

Product Description There is a time for everything—a time for laughing, a time for crying, a time for working and a time for baking bread. In fact, there are four times for baking bread: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. In her new book, Bread Machine Baking for All Seasons, author Connie Merydith offers seasonal recipes that will keep bread machines plugged in and kneading year-round. Bread machine bakers will learn that just as moods change with the seasons, so too should bread recipes. In tune with nature, recipes include: WINTER • Cashew-Date Bread resembling a fruit cake in texture and moistness • Chile-Cheese Bread perfect with chile or stew SPRING • Light, golden-colored Honey-Yogurt Bread for sandwiches • Sourdough Bagels, essential for picnics SUMMER • Orange Spiral Rolls with melon for a quick, light breakfast • Pita Bread filled with garden delicacies AUTUMN • Pumpkin Bread with its spice-laden flavor and aroma of Thanksgiving • Soft Breadsticks and Cheddar-Cumin Rolls for Monday Night Football fans Bread Machine Baking for All Seasons offers a chapter full of hints for baking with bread machines and a comprehensive index at the end. About the Author
Connie Merydith has been baking with a bread machine for her family of six for the last four years, as well as catering banquets and special occasions. Connie and her family live in Foresthill, California. Customer reviews A must have! by .. June's Bad Apple (East Coast) This is the only bread book I use . . . despite owning many!! Easy and delicious recipes that are consistant time and time again!
terrific book by .. Patricia O'Tuama (Illinois) I am completely new to the world of bread machine baking so, of course, I ran to Amazon and bought several books of recipes. This book by Connie Merydith is, however, far and away my favorite and the one I turn to the most. The book is beautifully laid-out with clear, easy-to-read type and nice small illustrations of bread at the bottom of most pages. The recipes are arranged by season with hearty wheat, nut and spice breads made with molasses, rolled oats and dried fruits for fall and winter, and lighter breads with honey, yogurt, fresh fruit and vegetables for spring and summer. The author also includes recipes for non-loaf breads such as bagels, breakfast and dinner rolls, pita bread, pizza dough, bread sticks, focaccia, and bread rings. I used this book to make an assortment of rolls for Thanksgiving last week: oatmeal-molasses, peppery parmesan, orange spiral, wheat spice and rich dinner rolls (the bread recipes can all be made into rolls -- just stop your bread-maker before it begins to bake). There are also instructions for making and using a sourdough starter and a very complete index. If you're only going to buy one bread machine cookbook, then this is the one to get.
Great Ideas by .. () I bought this book based solely on the other reviews I read here, and I'm awfully glad I did. Though the book might not be for bread machine novices (there's hardly any information about the machines themselves, or advice on how to make sure your breads come out well), the recipe ideas are creative and tasty. The black olive bread is especially wonderful, and I'm looking forward to trying more.
The lemon bread is wonderful by .. () Every recipe I tried was excellent and so different from each other. I love the season themes. The recipes were easy for me to adapt to my machine.
If you own a Bread Machine, you need this book by .. () I am going to make this short and sweet. Kind of like the bread.
I hate to cook. I love to eat. We have had a bread machine for a year and hardly used it. The bread did not come out right or it took too many ingredients we did not have.
I happened to see this book (very eye catching), read the first recipe. It looked easy and there was no magic to it. It used ingredients we already have. The machine has not been back in the cupboard since.
The author makes it easy to read, fun, and you get good bread.
This book is a must for anyone with a bread machine that is getting dusty. It also has a large and interesting variety of recipes.

Customer reviews The Last Hurrah by .. John Poffenbarger (Mukilteo, Washington United States) This book is an excellent account of the 49er's 1990 season, in which they sought - and narrowly missed - a third straight Super Bowl win. It covers each game of the season, in varying levels of detail, and profiles many of the teams' players and coaches. In covering the 1990 season, which had the potential to be one of the more significant events in NFL history, the author also interweaves coverage of the 49ers run of success throughout the 1980's. Overall, it presents an excellent picture of the Dynasty era Niners - which may never again be seen in the NFL, given the advent of free agency and the salary cap in the 1990's. Some of the most interesting passages, for example, are on the 49ers dealings with the notoriously demanding Bay area sportswriters throughout the 1980's. What neither the author nor his subjects realized at the time, however, was that the 1990 season would turn out to be the last campaign of the Joe Montana era team. Montana would never play another meaningful game for San Francisco, and Ronnie Lott, Roger Craig and others would soon be gone. (The 49ers went on to win another Super Bowl follwoing the 1994 season, but with a much different team that featured Steve Young and Deon Sanders). In that respect, it serves as an excellent coda on the Montana era 49ers. However, the book is not without its faults. While many players are profiled, little attention is given to Roger Craig, who would turn out to be the most significant player in 1990. His early season injury and rushed return, with little productivity, was the key to the season. While the author generally covers the team's injury problems and the gradual decline brought on by getting each opponent's best effort every week, he doesn't provide much analysis of what was really happening on the field late in the season - Namely, that the ineffectiveness of Roger Craig and the running game, whether from injury or other reason, left the team with a one dimensional attack. As opposing teams realized this, the 49ers began to struggle, culminating in the NFC Championship loss to the Giants. The author's coverage of the Championship game also seems a bit terse and abrupt, especially in contrast to coverage of an earlier Monday Night game against the Giants. Perhaps that was consciously done to show the shock of the game slipping away late, but one can't help but wish for some of the sideline details provided on earlier games. What was being said, for example, after the plays on which Montana was injured and Craig's fumble was recovered by LT ? Also, no mention is made of Montana being seriously ill in the days before the game, which was widely discussed in the press coverage of the game. Despite these shortcomings, the book remains one of the best on the Montana era team. It doesn't have the personal viewpoint and corresponding limitations that the various books by players, coaches, and journalists involved with the team all seem to contain, nor does it have the chronological tone used in most of the team history books. Given that most football books are not especially well written, it's a very good read for a 49er fan.
Great expectations, sad results... by .. Zagnorch (Terra, Sol System) Wow! With a nice, down-to-earth style that most folks can follow without moving their lips too much whilst reading, Dennis Pottenger does a bang-up job of updating Charles D!ckens' classic tome of a boy's going from rags to riches! The similarities are astounding! Except for the key characters, that is. And the time setting. And the fact that the new version's subject is NFL football. Oh yes, the new rendition's ending isn't as happy as the original's was (well, for Niners fans anyway). Actually, now that I think about it, there's almost no similarities at all between D!ckens' timeless story and Pottenger's memoirs of his seven-month experience with a team that was on the cusp of destiny. Except for the title, that is. And the fact that both were written in English. Well, actually, the first "G.E." is written in what most non-Yanks would consider proper English, whilst "G.E.2" is penned in that despised, bastardized American English. You know, words ending in -or, instead of -our, or `program' instead of `programme', `parking lot' instead of `car park', and the like... But I digress. If you've ever wanted to take a behind-the-scenes look at the Niner's 1990 season of hard-fought triumphs and ultimate tragedy, this tome is the best way to go about it. Their quest for the three-peat- a still-unprecedented three consecutive Super Bowl victories- is shown from the author & players' view of the game-day field, the locker room, and the training field. From their victory at Super Bowl XXIV that sparked the quest to the aftermath of their dream-ending conference-championship loss the following season, the author takes the reader on a week-by-week tour of every hard-fought victory and horrific loss. Although he does go into the lives of the team's marquee players like Joe Montana & Ronnie Lott, Pottenger focuses mainly on a handful of lesser-known red-and-gold-clad warriors. There's tight end Jamie Williams, considered the best-blocking TE in the league at the time. Leg break-prone WR Mike Sherrard once again facees the ordeal of yet another leg fracture that further stymies his playing ability. There's center Jesse Sapolu's tribulations trying to stay healthy and not let his teammates down with his absence. There's hard-hitting safety Chet Brooks' knee problem that cuts down his playing time. Rookie RB/ kick returner Dexter Carter's inconsistent effort is getting to him. And former Giants NT Jim Burt is just itchin' to get back at his old team! The week-by-week reactions & insights of these players and others really gave me a small idea of what it's like to play in the big leagues, and trying your damnedest to get the job done as every weekly opponent gives their all to stop you & your teammates from making history. Quite a bit of attention is paid to `Frisco's two big games against the New York Giants. Pottenger gives the first game, a hard-hitting 7-3 Niner Monday-night victory, and almost play-by-play feel to it. He also does the same (though to a lesser extent) for their last-second heartbreak conference championship loss that saw Montana fall and not play again for nearly two years, and Roger Craig fumble the game away. Needless to say, there's few famous Niner losses that were more harrowing than this one. If you're a Niner fan (or a N.Y. Giants fan in need of a good laugh), and you feel that you can manage this little tragic tale of one of pro sports' greatest franchises and their ultimately futile shot at history, then `Great Expectations' could very well be the thing you need! `Late
good book for fans of the 49ers by .. (rockford, IL USA) Great Expectations goes into the 1990 season of the 49ers and there quest for a "three-peat". It is a nice book, in that it goes into the behind the scenes, that most of us don't get to chance to see. If you are a football fan and want to know about the greatest team in football history then buy this book.
Great look inside a compelling season by .. () The 1990 Niners were a special team. The author probably set out to cover the NFL's first threepeat, only to be denied when the Giants moved on to the Super Bowl instead of San Francisco. No matter. The book tells a story of a great mix of youth and veterans, and offers a great glimpse into the worries and concerns of an NFL player. A good read. Very underrated book.

Customer reviews the 80's 49ers in detail! by .. Jason Perdue (Mars) This book came out shortly after the 49ers 3rd superbowl win following the 1988 season and it documents the 49ers rise to success in the 80's. Nice picture section in the middle of the book. Shortly after came a similar book "Great Expectations",following the 1990 season. You should own both if you are a Niner fan.
