This book is a little more simple than I thought it would be. My 10 month old daughter does like it because she loves to turn the pages of books and she likes to point at eyes. I can only give this 4 stars because after 3 weeks I'm getting tiered of it.

My one year old granddaughter loves this book. Faces are always appealing to babies and the clever way these faces morph from one thing to another with the flip of a page really intrigues her. Plus she can turn the pages herself. It helps that grandmother makes the appropriate animal sound as each page is turned. We just can't figure out what sound a raccoon makes...

SAMi's book is very clever and engaging. It is equally enjoyable forwards and backwards, which is helpful for the 4-18 month reader. Kid's will love the diecuts, they lend an interactive quality to the book almost like playing peek-a-boo. SAMi's illustrations are gorgeous, simple but sophisticated.

I am a daycare teacher and I love using this book with my class. The kids love the pictures. The book shows shapes in everyday ways and that really helps kids get better at identifing shapes. This book is bright and colorful and really gets the children's attention. I would recommend this book to anyone that is working with children on shapes, or anyone that just loves to share great books with children.

Our baby boy loves this book. Infact this is my favorite entertainment for him. Some of his toys and gadgets over stimulate him. Sure they keep his attention for a while but he usually ends up in tears from over stimulation. He has loved this book from the very begining. You can watch his eyes trace the image on the page. He concentrates very hard and you can tell his little mind is working and learning. Every other page is black or white with a simple image of a face drawn on, using the opposite color. Our son is 11 weeks old and still prefers this book to any other including the baby einstein books. I wish there were more black and white stimulation products available. 5 stars all the way!!!

I bought this, the first time, in the St Louis Art Museum gift shop when my granddaughter was born. It is now my standard gift to all babies. Faces are the first images children react to. At 3 my granddaughter still likes to 'read' it.

When I received the book, I wasn't too sure that my sixteen month old grandson would like it. There were beautiful baby flip-a-faces, but only one word for each page. To my surprise,he was delighted. He immediately mastered the baby's facial expressions and the word that was associated with each expression. Now, he makes me read it with over and over so we can together make the baby expressions, and say the words. He especially loves the last page when the baby is sleeping, and we both put our fingers to our lips and say, "Shhhh"

This is a sturdy book and my daughters favorite. The expressions change on every page and are cut out of the cardboard. This gives her many places to grab on and turn the page. It's also great to late her turn pages and act out the expressions. Lots of fun for children 6 months and older who are fascinated with faces. Well made book with very cute graphics. My 9 week old enjoys this book. It began to capture her attention for about a week or two. I think its the bold black-white, simple drawings. It's not really a "book" from the stand point of a story (just has about 10 different pictures that say who each person is), so I'm sure it will have a limited life. But hey, that's what the parent is for - to interject your own stories or conversations. For now, it's great because my baby studies the faces for a couple minutes, which she isnt doing with any other book. So its one book among others that we "work on" at storytime.
It also has the thick board pages with the foam material in between. Im not sure if my baby will be interested in this book when she's developed the motor skills to turn its pages, but it is helpful for ME since im trying to hold her scrunched up body with the other arm.

My daughter has loved this book from the age of 3 months till now (8 months). She's fascinated with the faces which are drawn simply but sharply and colorfully. She loves to touch the book, turn the pages, and stick her fingers through the holes in the page (where some faces have a mouth, there's a mouth shaped hole where you can see through to the next face's mouth). The cover doesn't do justice to the pictures inside the book, they are bright, bold and colorful.
