Customer reviews Best Book Yet by .. S. Ryan (Norfolk,VA) All I can say is Rowling over excelled her writing, and coming from her, thats saying quite a lot! This book has everything to sum up this legendary series, including tragic deaths and impossible plot twists that only Rowling can possibly come up with. What can I say? There aren't even close to enough stars to give!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by .. Andrew Barbee (Phoenix, AZ, USA) Excellent ending to a very interesting series of books. I enjoyed listening to the entire selection.
A must for any Potter fan by .. Brandon J. Palmer () Best book of the series. Read the entire thing in 2 days after it arrived. Have read it 5 times since.
Best in the series by far by .. mao_soup () I am not a foaming-mouthed Potter fan, though I like the series. I only just read it last year. I started in Dec '06 and finished when the new book came out. In fact, I read books 4,5,6 and 7 in like one month (For a slow reader like me this took a miracle. Either that or a few slow days at work....heh heh, ah it's the American way....)
Book seven is fantastic. It is far and away the best book in the series. Rowling seals the deal with the most intricate plot, the biggest battles, and the most spectacular surprises. If you haven't read this book by now you probably never will. Either that or you live on Saturn and your Amazon shipment is only now arriving...
Who wouldn't love Harry Potter? by .. Pdub (South Texas) A great addition to my HP library. Just wish there were going to be more!!!

Customer reviews Never Before And probably Never Again Will There Be..... by .. Rich Lande (New Haven, CT USA) Never before and probably never again will there be a set of books that pull me in so fast and so far that even I at the age of 45, waited in line at midnight on July 21, 2007 for HP and the Deathly Hollows (here in the USA) and I even have the arm band showing my place at number 116.
So here I was, late as usual and after seeing Goblet of Fire for the umpteenth time, I had an epiphany to go to the library and take out "Order of the Phoenix". That took place in 2006. See, I told you I was late arriving on the Harry Potter train.
The first thing I noticed was at 870 pages, it was the largest book I had ever bought or took out of the library. I guess mostly it's because books in general are like sleeping pills, they just knock me out and I fall asleep, no matter what time of day it is. But NOT Harry Potter, no sir. I read OOTP in under 10 hours within a span of three days. At the same time, and purely by coincidence, "The Half Blood Prince" came out in paperback, literally on day 2 of my reading of the OOTP. Trust me when I say I found it difficult not to take a peek, but I didn't.
Now at the age of 46, I have read the last three books in the series at least 6 times each because I firmly believe they were the best books ever written. But what struck me immediately was that so many people had said the HP books were children's books. HA!! I don't know about you, but I don't know of many children's books that contain murder, torture, curses, sex, bigotry, violence...well you get my point. Yet for some strange and unknown reason it was decided they ARE children's books and because of that stupid clause, they cannot be at the top of the New York Times best sellers list because they would never move. I can almost assure you that since 1998-2008 all 7 HP books would literally be within the top ten even today if they were allowed to be. But nooooooo, all the other authors got jealous and pissed, banded together and said, "No f'in way are we going to stand for this," "who does JK Rowling think she is anyway, the best writer in the world....ever?"
WHY YES, the simple fact is that there are probably more adult readers of HP than young ones and I say that at age 46, I will continue to read and re-read those very special 7 books and will also be there (perhaps) on opening day for movies 6,7 and 8. Although, I guess movie 8 is really just pt 2 of movie 7, but still, 3 movies remain and for now, we will just have to wait until they come out and then hopefully, one day soon thereafter, JK Rowling will come out with her big news story of 2011 stating there WILL be another 4 HP books written due to the over whelming requests for more from the masses both young and old.
But until that day arrives I am forced to now seek out other sources of HP books such as the thousands of books like, "The Plot Thickens..." or "Ultimate Guide to the Books of HP".
So many books about HP and the meaning of what lessons should be learned, like psychology, the science of it, magic, etc, etc. I even read the one called, "What Will Happen in Book 7" and although the guy got many things wrong, he or she was right about many other stuff like Harry being a Horcrux. Hey, I may not be the smartest guy, I know that but I don't think it ever occurred to me that Harry was also a Horcrux.
Anyway, I've written too much and will end this with a question...if JK were to continue the HP story with Harry as the lead, who would be the bad guy, another bad wizard? No, I don't think she could do that again. Hell, at this point I think people would be happy just to read about what Harry does each day after he wakes up...ok maybe not. Looks like we're all just gonna have to settle for the remaining 3 movies and just be happy with that...........NOT!!!!!!!!!
Question about UK adult versions of Harry Potter by .. Midge (TX) I have a question for anyone who has read both the UK adult version and the US version of the Harry Potter series.
I have also followed through all of the Harry Potter books and movies. Being just over 50, I was surprised at how easily the books and movies pulled me into the delightful world of Harry Potter. I have relatives in their 70's who have been just as steadfast at following the series and reading all of the books. It is a wonderful thing how this series instilled the love of reading to an entire generation (and then some). Reading books had almost become a lost art until Harry Potter came along.
My question on the UK adult version of the Harry Potter books...... Are they different from the US standard hardback version which we have been buying from Amazon? I bought the entire series through Amazon and on the last book, I bought the deluxe US version with the illustrations.
I'm wondering if there is a difference in the writing or additional info in the UK adult version. If there is more to read which I have not yet seen, then I would want to buy those as well... but I thought I would put this question to those who have read both versions to find out whether there is more to read in the UK versions.
I would hope Rowling changes her mind and adds more books to the series. There is an endless number of storylines she could continue into their adult lives for deacades to come and it does not have to be focused on Voldemort. She could write a story about a virus among the magical world which affects their powers with Hermione as a Doctor or medical researcher at St Mungo's trying to find a cure to the ailing wizards and witches who don't know how to cope without powers... and muggles who catch the virus could gain powers which go haywire. The storylines have endless possibilites. Perhaps if Rowling changes her publisher's contract to not have a hard schedule like the previous series, she can take more time to enjoy writing without harsh deadlines now that the characters ages for the movies are no longer an issue once the seventh movie is completed.
I still think Mrs Norris, the cat, was Filtches former lover who was turned into a cat by her husband which is why Mr Filtch is so devoted to the cat. I know there is a storyline in that which has not yet been explored.
Best Book EVER!!!!!!! by .. David W. Reynolds (Chatsworth, GA, USA) I wish to instill upon all my readers the solemnity with which I type these words today. It's been just under 48 hours since a large percent of Muggle-kind poured into bookstores worldwide to get their own copy of the most awaited book ever published. It was without a doubt the greatest novel I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Rowling writes so well that it all seems so real, real enough to become an international phenomenon that has made Harry's world leap into our hearts and homes. Hogwarts, Godric's Hollow, and Hogsmeade have all seemed to be out there just beyond the reach of our outstretched, groping fingertips. It is because of this that what I am writing now will be like no other review that I have ever penned. I have followed Harry from Number 4 Privet Drive, to the very end, and cherished every word. Ending the Harry Potter series is like drawing a line between his world and ours, it's the final breaking point at which our ever-growing curiosity will never be satisfied. And we know it. Even though it was voiced by J.K. long before the release was scheduled that this would be the final installment, I thought that, maybe, just maybe, there was some fleeting chance of another book. The first thing I ever read in the book assured me that it was a futile impossibility. In place of a synopsis, it simply stated 'We now present the seventh and final installment in the epic tale of Harry Potter'. This was it. End of story. Literally.
This is a book that cannot be passed up. It answers more questions in such a special way that only Rowling is capable of. If you wanted to know something about the previous books, the answers are in here. Every chapter was a good read, with nonstop action throughout. Many very important questions are left addressed, but unanswered until the latter part of the book, but within the first chapter, key elements of the plot are unveiled. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is one of those books that you will lay reading at night, fighting to overpower sleep, unable to put it down, and get through 100 more pages than you originally expected to before the drowsiness finally overtakes you. The dedication in itself is enticingly vague enough to make you want to read the book all in one sitting. Rowling addresses six of her friends and then has one final thing to say: 'And to you, if you have stuck with Harry until the very end.'. It made me uneasy, and it made me wonder, as I'm sure it will you.
I cannot say much about the plot that you do not already know, without revealing important determining factors in the book. I will however say that during Harry's search for the Horcruxes, he faces more obstacles that he has in any previous endeavor that he has undertaken. The power of evil is growing even stronger, and the magical world is not what it used to be at all. You'll have to read it to get to "the good stuff", and this is guaranteed a book that you won't find boring. It will be one of the best decisions of a read you'll ever make.

Great book ! by .. Gerardo Garcia De Leon () This is a great volume from the Harry Potter collection....if you are a Harry Potter fan you must have it !
Harry Potter Finale by .. Geneaology Maven () Excellent translation which enables a reader to see details which may be missed in the Englsih version. Engaging, enthralling story with tons of action.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in spanish by ..
For those of you who are bilingual, don't waste your time with the spanish version. Just a sample: "a golden locket" is not a guardapelo but a relicario, and that is just for starters.
"It gets so sad when the end arrives" by .. Sonia V. Delgado (P.R., USA) Harry Potter has been one of my favorites books, this one besides to be the last of the story, it is very good, but my best guess is, it needs at least two chapters more to constructs a better ending, a little bit about what's happens between the last battle and the lasts pages with a short story about 19 years later.

Product Description This "nimble" guide to the work of best-selling author J. K. Rowling takes advantage of the unique capabilities of electronic publishing technology to provide the latest news about the author and her works, updated whenever there are significant developments. Unlike a conventional book, for which editions are printed in quantity every couple of years, this "living book" goes through frequent "mini-editions" and is printed fresh whenever customers place an order. This version was most recently updated May 5, 2006. Customer reviews Un-satisfied by .. J. Ensor (Washington, DC) I was a little turned off by the religious beliefs being front & center on this book. I wanted to get right in to the theory & speculation over what had happened & what would happen. There were some redeming tid-bits, but overall it was a struggle for a muggle like me.
Unauthorized Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows News:Harrry Potter Seven and Half-Blood Prince Analyis by .. Barbara M. Warren (USA) I enjoy the book. The way the author try to explain book seven might be written and also how explain what would happen to harry and ever oone elsein the book.
Where are the predictions? by .. Angela Taylor (Los Angeles, CA United States) I was extremely disappointed in this book. Easily 80% of it is an analysis of book 6. I have book 6, I've read book 6. There are exactly 6 pages of predictions about book 7. Pales in comparison to Defogging the Future, which is nothing but predictions based on evidence from the other books. This book might be more correctly called Book 6.
7 Unauthorized Harry Potter Book Seven News: "Half Blood Prince" Analysis and Speculation by .. Steven M. Charles (oxford, mi USA) So far the book has been very good. I have yet gotten to the point of the speculation on book 7 and what it will entail.
