less than 75 by .. mg1330 (New Jersey) Before I decide to purshase this product I knew what was about it. The book is not for me. But I know it is very helpfull for my son. When we were searching it was a very nice experience 'cause we saw many amazing products we wanted to get. Even do was my first time buying on line I am so satisfied with Amazon. As third parties as well. I come here often since then. Thanks Amazon.
Great Buy by .. M. Quigley (New York) It is so worth what I paid, and then some. It explains in great detail and the wording is easy to understand. I just wish the book would focus more on problem areas and not just the whole SAT test. I still think the book will help me tremendously on the exam.
Bought this for the mystery tutor site, glad I did. by .. Maria Cevallos (USA) I bought this book for my kid because it was recommended on mysterytutor.com, and I have to say I'm glad I did. The questions are different from what he was working on before, which was one of the Barron's books, just like the guy on the mystery tutor site said they would be. It just makes sense to use real questions to get ready for the test, especially when it's an important one.
Some other reviewers have written about how the book doesn't provide solutions, and I agree that that's a problem, but if you go to the mystery tutor's forums you can get all of those solutions for free, so that way you can still use this book of real questions and not have to go with some other company's fake questions, but still have explanations.
The book is full of real practice questions just like it says it is, and it's the only book of practice questions you should be using! Get it and don't think twice.
The Official SAT Guide by .. snowflakes (Kitsap County) This book NEVER arrived. It was cancelled the same day, reorder from another vendor and also cancelled. Finally, my daughter's boyfriend found her one, almost too late and they studied together. The Guide was helpful but would have been better if delivered and on time.

Customer reviews Delivery was quicker than i expected by .. Abishek Sridhar (Manchester, CT USA) I thought the book might take 3 or 4 business days, but got the book on second business day. Happy with the shipping.
Essential for good score....master it completely by .. Kanishk Rastogi (Albany, NY United States) Official Guide, as the name suggests, is an official collection of retired GMAT questions, published by GMAC, who own GMAT. Here, I will review this book and its importance in the overall preparation.
First, I was short on time in preparing for GMAT and applying in time. So, I didn't had time to go over all the material and guides available in this universe, and then compare and review them.
Second, before you start your preparation, or make your plan, you need to understand what GMAT is and what it measures. Then try to understand how much time and effort you will need to achieve a good score, for the school(s) you are applying to.
- OG will certainly help you to understand what is GMAT, what it measures and how the different sections test your those capabilities.
- The Diagnostic Test, taken under strict examination conditions, will measure your current performance and identify the areas you need to focus.
- The Verbal and Quant sections of OG are mainly a collection of past GMAT questions, their answers, and explanatory solutions.
- There is very little theory/concepts and very generic strategies. However, do read them carefully.
Once you identify the areas you need to focus on, find the guides with concepts, fundamentals, and tips and tricks. Do your research by reading reviews, and consulting your peers who have used them in past. Every guide is different and have different difficulty levels. What works for one may not work for another.
For Sentence Correction, I will recommend Sentence Correction GMAT Preparation Guide (Manhattan GMAT Preparation Guides). For other sections, I used an old, borrowed edition of Nova's GMAT Prep Course (with Online Course). Unfortunately, I cannot comment about Kaplan, Princeton, Veritas etc since my aim was to get a good score and not compare all these guides. (I spent 3 weeks overall and got a very decent score)
Coming back to OG, here is what I recommend:
- Do all the questions.
- Do all the questions, at least three times. By doing so, you can master a lot of concepts and calculations.
- Do not get discouraged if you get low scores on simulated tests of the other study guides. Actual GMAT level is closest to this OG. Other guides' sample exams have a hidden marketing motive too. They want you to buy their books or take their course. So, their questions' level may not be same as that of actual GMAT. In fact, I found some of them very difficult. (Won't take names, but I took those online free sample exams from those famous names in Study Guides & preps)
- If you have time, get GMAC's Verbal and Quant supplements to practice more & more.
At last, it's all about speed & accuracy. Best of Luck!
Poor preparation material by .. Sabrina Young (Stillwater, MN) This book begins by stating that it is virtually all you will need in order to score well on the GMAT. I went through the book backwards and forwards - again and again and again. Mind you, I have an MBA from a very good school already and am well able to study and master material. Upon taking the GMAT for my PhD program, the test had nothing even remotely similar to what this book prepared me for. Certainly, there are basic math principles involved, but the overall format and question types in this book didn't at all resemble what I was tested over on the actual GMAT. Outside of that, I was amazed at the number of grammatical errors in the book, especially as it is an 11th edition. Many of the exercises have incorrect verbiage and/or signage as it relates to math problems. If you are getting prepared to take the GMAT, you had better not leave it to this product.
USEFUL FOR BEGINNERS! by .. T. Gian Luca (Torino, Italy) This book is very good for people who wuold like to start their preparation for the GMAT. You have enough exercices and and a useful section (explanations) about math, algebra and geometry.
After, if you need a more brilliant preparation you need to practice on GMAT 800.
I'm Italian and when I started to read GMAT 800 (by KEPLAN) I found it harder (contents and language).
so-so by .. E. G. Tarazi (New York City) I wasnt totally happy w/ this book. As other readers have posted there are countless errors in the math sections. For example on page 335 of the 11th edition they say (xr)^2 = x^(2r). This is hard to look over as a typo - as are other errors.
There are also no full-length exams in this book. I mean, come-on, why are the GMAC guys such tight-wads with their questions. I dont really like they way they run the show...

The CLEP Official Student Guide 2009, developed by the test maker, features practice questions for all 34 CLEP exams. It includes exam descriptions and test-taking tips and strategies. Customer reviews In the middle by .. Andonios Valsamakis (San Antonio, Texas) On one hand, I have to agree with the person giving this one star that it could be gotten from the CLEP website, but if you did want to order a book to review, this is a good one. For what it sets out to do, it does well. I am not sure that I can fault the product because the information contained can be gotten from another source for free. As a whole, it is detailed as well as comprehensive. It achieves the goals it hopes to accomplish. All the reader has to do is expend the effort and get prepared.
Save your money. by .. A. McCracken-Barber (Farmington, NH. USA) The book that the clep website recomends is also available on their web site to down load a .pdf file for free. It dosn't give any more information than the web site offers and down loading is even debatable. Had I realized this prior to buying the book from amazon, (no offense Amazon, We love you guys), I would have saved 25 bucks + shipping.
Clep Official Study Guide worth the money by .. Laura A. Layton () This guide helped my daughter study for and take her clep tests. And she passed!! It sure beats the cost of tuition and the length of time for credit.

 Format : Illustrated Author : George G. Morgan Edition : 2nd Number of Pages : 300 Publisher : Ancestry.com List Price : $24.95 Amazon Price : $15.65 Used Price : $16.87 |
Product Description Whether you are coming to Ancestry.com for the first time or have used it for years, you need The Official Guide to Ancestry.com. Written by noted genealogist and lecturer George G. Morgan, this official guide takes you inside the #1 website for family history research for an unprecedented tour. This second edition includes chapters on the new search at Ancestry, MyCanvas, and Ancestry DNA. In addition, it helps you create and develop your own Family Tree, explore obscure databases you didn't know existed, and more. You've always known Ancestry.com was a valuable resource. Now you can learn to use it like never before. Customer reviews Excellent guide to an increasingly useful service by .. Michael K. Smith (Gonzales, Louisiana) I am of two minds when it comes to an "official guide" to any site on the World Wide Web. First, a website can consist of as many pages as necessary to cover the subject, and there can be as many interconnections between pages as necessary to guide the user. Second, the nature of hyperlinking is such that any properly designed website shouldn't need a guide. It should be so logically organized that navigation is obvious, and it should include its own internal "help" system. At least, that's the theory. In practice, even a site as generally well designed as Ancestry (and it is well designed) can eventually become so large, with so many layers, that it can be daunting even to an experienced genealogical web surfer.
George Morgan, a well-known Florida genealogist, book author, and columnist, began doing research back in the 1960s, when "research" meant many trips to the courthouse and the library and waiting for replies to correspondence. Recent, younger converts to the hobby may find it difficult to imagine such a thing, but that's how it was. Ancestry was one of the earliest multi-database resources to appear online and is now part of the Generations Network, a huge conglomerate (in genealogical terms) that includes nearly a dozen previously separate database sites, plus Family Tree Maker and Ancestry Publishing. The Ancestry site itself includes more than 23,000 databases and transcribed books, with many more being constantly added, and the company has done the online researcher the service of making the templates nearly identical that give access to them. This book follows the obvious logical structure of devoting a chapter to each broad category: Census records, birth/marriage/death, immigration, directories and membership lists, newspaper and periodicals, court records, land, military, PERSI. maps, and local and family histories. Other chapters give advice on starting your first family tree on the site itself (something I don't recommend for reasons of access and lack of backup), on how to work with the many kinds of digitized records at Ancestry (much improved over the early days), using the Learning Center (lots of freebies here), and how to most efficiently spend your money at the Ancestry Store. The text of the book is generally well thought out and the sales pitch (Ancestry itself is the publisher, don't forget) is reasonably subtle.
One thing: Don't forget that Ancestry is not a free research service, it's a business. If you live in a small town far away from large research libraries -- and especially if you need to do research in a far corner of the country -- a subscription is going to be far cheaper than gasoline. Plus, you can work online at any time of the day or night. But also don't forget that in many states the state library makes available a subscription to Ancestry to city and county libraries all around the state, and that anyone with a library card can therefore access any database at Ancestry for free by visiting their local library. (But no, you generally can't logon to the library's access point from home.)
I can recommend this volume to anyone new to the websites it describes, although most of what is available on the site can be discovered simply by "walking around." It would especially make a good auxiliary gift if you're planning on giving someone in your family a gift subscription to Ancestry for Christmas.
Good reference by .. Jannie (San Pedro, CA USA) The book is a good reference to have on hand to clarify a point or search a question.

Customer reviews Mostly 400-650 level test questions by .. Jaewoo Kim (Santa Monica, CA) The GMAT verbal, especially the Sentence Correction, has been made substantially more difficult than it has been in the past. For example, GMAT SC tests such things as "gerunds which pose as nouns" and how they can only be parallel to action (but not regular) nouns. Unfortunately, this book leaves a lot wanting in the more difficult questions of the GMAT verbal.
Simply put, this book does not provide the type of questions the present real GMAT will give you.
You are far better off studying the Manhattan GMAT (especially SC) 3rd edition books. And no I do not work for Manhattan GMAT.
Do yourself a big favor and practice GMAT Prep (downloaded free from MBA.com) prior to taking the real GMAT. Otherwise, you will be in a shock at the difficulty of the questions when you take the real GMAT.
Unless you are shooting for sub 650 score, do not rely solely on this book for your GMAT verbal preparation. I suggest you spend your valuable study time on Manhattan GMAT books and GMAT prep.
good book for GMAT by .. Boshao Zhang () Basically I use this book to enhance my reading skill and writing skill because I am writing my dissertation. Although I read academic journal almost every day, when it comes to writing it becomes difficult. This book can help me to organize complicated sentences.
A must have! by .. Erinsabine (Seattle, WA USA) You must get this guide book if you want to prep for GMAT. While it doesn't cover strategy or the AWA section it does give you lots of great practice! I ended up with an 89% ranking on the verbal section thanks to this guide.
Have not received! by .. Steward H. Y. Tan () I have yet to receive the book after more than one month since the purchase date.
Could someone tell me why?!?
Must Have Book For GMAT Preparation by .. SK -PEACE () This book is an excellent book, no doubt about it. It is a must have book. I have yet to take my GMAT test but I do know this book is very helpful in my preparation. I especially admire the answer reviews b/c every question is explained in great details. Basically the book teaches you the tricks about each question and every given answer.

Customer reviews Mostly 400-650 level test questions by .. Jaewoo Kim (Santa Monica, CA) If you are shooting for 700+ GMAT score, this book will leave a lot wanting. The main problem is the questions are way too easy for those who are above average test takers. GMAT has become MUCH more difficult over the years, and this book provides questions from old exams which no longer reflects the type questions of the real GMAT.
If you are scoring in the 500s, this book will help you. If you are already scoring above 600 in your practice exams, then I suggest you focus your studies on Manhattan GMAT books (3rd edition) and GMAT Prep (download free from MBA.COM), which has at least 250 GMAT questions which are similar to the real GMAT.
Just as anything, how you spend your time is critical in studying for your GMAT. I suggest you use your valuable time studying materials which has more difficult and realistic questions than this book.
A must have! by .. Erinsabine (Seattle, WA USA) I couldn't have prepped for the GMAT without this guide. It is a "must have" for anyone who actually wants to study for the GMAT with real GMAT questions. Kaplan's questions are too hard, Barron's are just bizarre - you can rely on these questions.
not a must have but good for practice by .. H. Gangula () most of the stuff in this book is already in the GMAT official guide(OG 11) except the practice problems. buy this book if you want more math practice...it has good amount of practice problems: Problem Solving(176), Data Sufficiency(118)
and these problems are different from the ones in OG 11.
Excellent Preparation Book for the GMAT by .. B. Bozant (Terrytown, LA United States) It has been seven years since I have been out of college. My math skills are very rusty. The Quanative Review is the best book to get because it is written by the GMAT Staff. Each question comes with an explanation of how the problem is solved. The book is broken down into sections with complete explanations.
I am not good at math at all and there are over 300 problems to solve from basic arthimatic, algebra, geometry, and Data Sufficienty. all have multiple choice answers and at the end of each section.
The book is much cheaper than getting it through the mba.
I also recommend the GMAT Verbal Review as well
Helpfull for GMAT excercies by .. M. Hurtado (ELP) This book is a must if you are about to take the GMAT and need lots of practice on Math it contains a lot of good exercies and how to solve them...
