This comprehensive reference provides complete monographs for more than 900 generic and 3,000 trade drugs. The monographs are consistently formatted for ease of use, and they focus on the practical information that practicing nurses need. Each monograph consists of generic and trade names, pregnancy risk category, controlled substance schedule (if applicable), available forms, indications and dosages (including dosage adjustments) administration for all routes (plus I.V. drug incompatibilities (for I.V. drugs), drug action (including tables showing route, onset, peak, and duration), adverse reactions, interactions, effects on lab test results, contraindications, nursing considerations, and patient teaching. A new chapter on drug classes is being added to the front of the book. The back-of-book CD is being ported to a Web toolkit with videos about medication administration, a color-photo pill guide, dosage calculators, interactions algorithms, and much more. NDHnow.com keeps the book up to date with partial monographs for new drugs.

very useful in my occupation 4 by .. Robert Sirois (Fort Kent, Maine)
This book is very handy with the kind of job I do. Anytime you have a question on a medication this book is an awesome refrence. Came highly recommended by my nurse instructor and very highly by me as well.

great book 5 by .. Alison W. Bolnick (LaGrange, GA)

EXCELLENT DRUG INFORMATION 5 by .. Bernice Cutrone ()
VERY VALUABLE DRUG INFO NOT ONLY FOR ME AS A RN BUT FOR THE INTERESTED PUBLIC ABOUT OLD AND NEW MEDICATIONS.

Nursing 2009 Drug Handbook 5 by .. K Brudvik (Seattle)
Well trusted product...have used these drug references over 18years and finally decided I'll never win the free book, don't want to pay the $52 the company wants with shipping and handling, so Amazon is a winner! Book is new condition, like I'd expect from the company.

Nursibg 2009 HandBook 3 by .. Mary Jo Lent ()
The information in the book was very well organize and easy to review. The book it self was not well put together. The first time I opened the book the binding broke leaving the liklihood that the pages will fall out and be lost.

Different drug book 4 by .. Temple Naff (Houston, Tx)
This book is smaller in size than some drug books which is good for a student that has very little space in clinicals. It's a little different than other books but it's good. It has a PDA version too.

Great product! 5 by .. Richard J. Wiggins Jr. (Florence, SC United States)
An excellent book for nursing school and beyond. Drugs are easy to find and information is easy to read.

Super! 5 by .. Ashley Morton ()
I think that Mosby's is by far the best product when it comes to Nursing!! Very easy to find medications
and to understand!

Excellent Drug Reference 5 by .. L. Malm (Anderson, IN USA)
An excellent drug reference. The drug monographs are well written and include more complete information than found in many other references including herb interactions and unlabeled uses. The do-not-confuse information is also well researched and well written. Even though this guide is targeted at nurses, the information here is presented in an accessible format readable by most anyone. The physical size of the book is also nice - small enough to be easily portable (not like a PDR!) the book is physically smaller than it looks in the Amazon picture. The only suggested improvement is if this book was available in an electronic format.

Not just for Nurses!!! 5 by .. A. R. Phillips ()
This is the greatest drug book!!! I am an LPN and I have to say, I wish I had known about these books before I went to nursing school. I think all people that take medicine should have one... It is a very useful tool. Too many people depend on the doctors to know whats best for them and don't even worry about what the medicine could be doing to them. Try this book out and you'll see just how much you don't know about the medicine you may be taking.

Well organized textbook 5 by .. MH9150 (Minneapolis)
This text is very well organized. Every chapter starts with an overview of the relevant physiological concepts. They present a Prototypical drug for each class and then compare/contrast the other drugs in that class against the prototype. The amount of information contained in the book is overwhelming (due to the nature of the subject), but the easy to understand layout and consistent use of tables and figures make it much easier to digest. The explanations of how the drugs work are clearly written. The only drawback is that it doesn't contain a glossary, so I need to keep a medical dictionary nearby while studying.

Drug Therapy in Nursing 5 by .. JA Sweet ()
This book is great for Pharmacology in Nursing. I learn more from this book than I do than any other Pharmacology Nursing book there is out there. Dianne makes it so easy to learn Pharmacology and want to learn and in a way you remember it.

Workbook is very helpful accompaniment to book. 5 by .. M. Kent (Pittsburgh, PA USA)
This workbook was very helpful while taking Pharmacology. It is a great review for each chapter.

Good price, fast delivery 5 by .. Sandra M. Walter (Lincoln, NE)
This book arrived quickly and was purchased for less than any other vendor offered it, either online or at the store.

No CD 1 by .. Hussein Ali Huwaidi (Saihat, ES Saudi Arabia)
I bought this for my wife from Amazon all the way to Saudi Arabia because it's the best there in the market. When we received the package, we found out that it doesn't come with a CD any more. This is a bad purchase! don't buy this book, instead buy the older edition (2008) that one comes with a CD.

I consider this purchase a loss of money as Amazon didn't show that this is the only edition that doesn't come with a CD although I would get a CD with a cheaper one.

I blame Amazon.

Very good!! 5 by .. V. Drake (NY)
I bought this on amazon because it was so much cheaper than buying it in the book store. Easy to use, and fits easily in my bag. Thanks!!

Great book for reference and refreshing 4 by .. M. S. Horne (New Zealand)
I bought the 2009 Lippincotts Nursing Drug Guide. It has been a great tool to have. It fits in my bag and i can refer to it when patients ask me about their drugs. A very useful reference guide. Drugs in USA may have a different name fom ours here down under in New Zealand, but even so one can work out what the generic name is. An invaluable guide to have I would not be without it.

Not so good... 2 by .. F. Brown (Miami, FL USA)
I found this drug guide difficult to use. The drugs were listed by classification rather than by name so if you don't know the classification of the drug you're always going to have to check the index which can be time consuming if you're trying to do an assignment or trying to look something up quickly.

Fantastic for nursing students and nurses 5 by .. faith (ILLINOIS)
This book contains a lot more organized information than other drug guides. It even contains information for the nursing process...such as nursing diagnoses, interventions, and such. Gives you direct needed information, not a lot of un needed nursing information. Great BOOK! I just graduated nursing school and wish I had this one the whole time. Our school required a different one that was not good at all!

Highly recommended!

Useful work product 5 by .. Hungry Heidi (Arizona, USA)
I carry this drug book every time I work, very useful it is used often.

Simply the Best Drug Manual on the Market! 5 by .. James Koenig (Minnesota)
As a dentist, I need to keep current on many drugs, drug interactions, drug properties, how drugs are dispensed, side-effects, mechanisms of action, and dosing instructions. Before I found this manual, I used the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference), and at about 8 pounds a copy, I found it cumbersome, hard to use, and the print was too small. The Nursing Drug Handbook is lightweight, can be tucked into a large coat pocket, or desk drawer, is easy to use, has all the vital information I need, and is relatively inexpensive.

The book is arranged by drug class, (antibiotics, anti-virals, anti-hypertensives, etc). I like this arrangement because it allows me to compare similar drugs in the same class. I also like the index in the back of the book that lists individual drugs alphabetically, so I can have instant access to a particular drug without paging through an entire section.

There is no other drug manual that has the complete information that this book has. There are cheaper manuals, but if you want more than just surface information on a drug, then this is the volume to purchase.

Most highly recommended.

Jim "Konedog" Koenig

Nursing Drug Handbook 2008 5 by .. T. Newsom ()
I am currently in nursing school. This is my second drug book. My first drug book is excellent. My problem with the first book was the medical terms. It sometimes came with a language that I could not understand. The Nursing 2008 Drug Handbook, broke the terms to a language I could understand. I hope this makes since. An easier read I should say. Thank You

Save hours on your clnical prep 5 by .. Erin Sexton (Syracuse, NY USA)
Every person in my clinical group went out and bought these cards. Before, we all spent 3-6 hours just writing out our drugs cards by hand the night before clinical. These cards have 3 times the info that you can fit written by hand. Just search for your drug in the index, and it'll tell you what number cards your drug is on... then take those cards out put them in the convenient plastic card holder that comes with it (I've fit about 35-40 cards in it every week)and take it to clinical right in your pocket. This set also come with an helpful CD rom.

Mosby's 2009 Nursing Drug Cards 4 by .. Mrs. Lorie Hickok (Sunny Orlando)
These cards are a great resource if you are in nursing school and have to make the dreaded med sheets. The included disk lets you print the cards, also. Much easier than having to cut and paste. One thing: Some drugs are not included in the general list but in a sub-category organized by classification. Not a biggie once you find the categories.
