Product Description

Nobody ever said being an adult was easy. But it's easier with The Little Book of Big Excuses, with hundreds of excuses for things you did, things you didn't do, things you did wrong, and things you never want to hear about again. First things first: "Fake Don't Flake." In here are your excuses for being late for or not showing up to any number of places for any number of reasons--grandma's birthday party, work, home, weddings, dentists appointments.

"Excusez-Moi, si'l vous plait" is where to look when you're caught wearing a halter top to a black tie event. Or forget your boss's spouse's name--again. Or don't want to pick up the tab. The French have a word for everything.

If you need to learn how to say "I'd Love to, but"--the art of articulating just why you can't do most anything you don't want to do--in any language, this is the book for you. Demonstrate your incompetence. When someone asks you to bring those complicated hors d'oeuvres, show up half an hour late with half the ingredients. Bonus section here: how to get someone else to do all the work while you still get the credit.

"Delivery Subsystem Failure--Mailboxes, Messages, Missives Gone Awry, Oh My!" Never, ever again will you want for an excuse for not writing, calling, IMing, or emailing. Fake communication breakdowns make fail-safe excuses for a myriad of don't wannas and didn't do its.

"All's Fair in Love" contains excuses for not calling, not going on the second date, forgetting the birthday or anniversary of the one you love. Plus how to retreat with remorse, even from the altar steps. Hint: You could have your mother or your manager phone it in. That's what Julia Roberts did.

* Hundreds of excuses for thousands of situations, plus "The Excuse Clinic: How to Make Lame Excuses Walk and Okay Excuses Sing."

* Life is serious business, people, so pay attention. Let Addie help you off the hook.

Funny and incredible 4 by .. DaMommy (NuJoizy, US)
Lots of the excuses and stories are outrageous and funny. I passed this on to a friend, who was speechless. I'm saving the best excuse for a major emergency ... Someone put food in my shoes.

Very pleasant 4 by .. Hugues (Washington, USA)
This is a very pleasant book to learn important things, which 1-year old son my loves ! The drawings are cute.

Great for a two year old 5 by .. Avid Reader in Maryland (Columbia, Maryland United States)
This is an adorable book. The fact that it teaches manners is an added bonus. To me, the importance is that my two year old granddaughter can "read" it herself. At first I thought she could just give me the answers to the questions and that was cute enough. But then I overheard her "reading" it to her baby doll. What great self confidence this builds in a toddler. It is the best time to start building self esteem and making a child feel "smart".

1 1/2 year old's favorite book 5 by .. A. Colyer ()
While I think the book will be terrific in a year to actually teach manners, at this point, my little guy is just entertained by the book. The pictures are simplistically expressive. He giggles every time we get to the second scenario (saying "Excuse me" when burping). He likes the participation of the turning pages. We typically end up reading this book 10 times a day, with my little fellow signing for more as I turn the last page....

What a wonderful world it would be if every child read this book! 5 by .. Ann Clarke, children's book author (Florida)
Just perfect for the Wee Ones. This little flap book shows the way to good manners without preaching. A perfect book delight any small child. Ann Clarke, author of People Are So Different! based on tolerance and understanding.

We LOVE this book! 5 by .. Sedexis (Mesa, AZ)
My daughter and I have been reading Karen Katz books together since she was able to sit up. This is an excellent addition to our collection! My daughter is now two-and-a-half, and she just LOVES the lift-a-flaps in these books. We have been working on manners, so this book is perfect. After reading these books a few times together, my daughter is able to read it back to me from memory, and she feels so proud when she finishes a book by herself. I highly recommend this and all of the Karen Katz books!!

Product Description

In life, we all make mistakes. It's how we get out of them that shows our presence of mind. However, not everyone has this particular skill. From the wrong sort of snow to the dog ate it via I fell on the vacuum - how anyone ever thought they'd get away with these howlers is a complete mystery. The Little Book of Crap Excuses is a hilarious collection of pointless prevarication, walloping white lies and appalling apologies. Insurance claim: Coming home, I drove into the wrong house and collided with a tree I don't have. Jonah's mother: That's a nice story, but now tell me where you've really been for the last three days.

Poor excuses to eat chocolate 2 by .. austinDVD@hotmail.com (Miami, Florida USA)
Chocolate Reasonettes, little excuses to eat chocolate.

Apromising book about the reasons to indulge in chocolate, but everypage are the phrases of childish statements with no clear focus or logic as to the reasons for chocolate consumption.

Chocolate Reasonettes was written with the chocoholic in mind. Basically motivational phrases to keep your bad chocolate eating habits in tact complete with simple, yet tasteful graphics to compliment. All issues from reasons to weight gain and chocolate eating habits, even the author's relationships with a chocolate bar are presented in a conversational format, but overall the process fails with random phrases that suffer from lack of originality. Hardly any of the statements I found amusing, and close to 90% of them was common knowledge. Matters on health benifits, or even chocolate's pshchlogical effects would have been useful, but instead, the reader is taken for granted for not knowing that chocolate melts in the sun, or that chocolate is a better form of addiction than sex or drugs.

" If you're too sick to eat chocolate, you should be in the hospital."

" If you can't eat all your chocolate it will keep in the freezer, but if you can't eat all your chocolate, what is wrong with you."

Chocolate Reasonenettes will leave you with an aftertaste of disappointment when you're finished with this utterly forgettable book. The silly phrases failed to amuse at any level, and the only enjoyable part of this book, may be the front cover. The Photograph of the expertly crafted truffles and chocolate confections, was the only excuse for me to eat chocolate. END
