Get a publisher with newer edition! don't waste your time on this one! by .. K. Chan (Manhattan, NY) i just took the NLN yesterday and before we start, our instructor (head of the nursing dept) told us they just came out with a completely NEW test this Fall and i knew it was a bad news. the vocabularies in the book adds up to 9 pages long when i typed them up, i studied those words day and night. so when i opened the exam booklet--- NOT one word was on it. i was like omg i should have studied a SAT book for preparation and not relay on this book by M. McDonald. besides that the passages were easier than the ones in the book, same thing with math, it's easier. but for science, you really have to know what you've learned, this book didn't help much either. overall, look for a different book this book is way too outdated. don't waste your money and time studying it and end up going through what i went through. i've learned my lesson and i guess i'll waste another semester just to take the NLN again. Good luck to all of you, we all fight hard for this.
Helpful Resource by .. Maria Luvirosa A. Kahumoku (Honolulu, HI) Awesome resource to use prior to taking the NLN Nursing Entrance Exam. Very easy to read and understand. The answer key is very helpful because it explains the correct answer. The review and/or helpful hints in each introduction prior to each section of the exam was easy to follow. I recommend this textbook to anyone preparing to take the NLN Nursing Entrance Exam.
okay book but did not help with the test by .. D. oliver () I study the book from front to back and the pretest was nothing like the test. the test had nothing to do with nursing but I did recieve the book in a very timely manner and I was pleased with Amazon.com

AA++!
study guide for NCLEX by .. Claudia J. Herdeman (Austin, TX) I passed the TX board 1st time. This book helps you remember important nuring concepts for the RN.
Great NCLEX-RN Study Book by .. M. Chandler (Fort Collins, CO) Some NCLEX-RN books are so detailed and long that when I read them I feel like I'm taking nursing school all over again. This book is more concise with illustrations and tables in color, which makes for easier reading. Each chapter has appendices with need-to-know information. For example, in the musculoskeletal chapter 21, there is appendix 21-1; it covers serum diagnostics, invasive diagnostics, and non-invasive diagnostice, appendix 21-2: it covers medications by category (antigout, skeletal muscle relaxants, calcium meds., etc.), Appendix 21.3: it covers amputations, appendix 21.4: it covers assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers). When you just have 10 minutes, you can turn to an appendix of a chapter and get a good review on meds., procedures, and diagostic tests. This book has been helpful studying for nursing school tests and for NCLEX prep.

Product Description Successfully completing the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) exam is the typical requirement for licensed practice and employment as a psychologist in public education. Until now, most graduate students and other professionals relied only on informal study guides or information provided by the test publisher (Praxis). Although students need to utilize informal study guides, this insider's book is essential for effective preparation. Most important, the School Psychology Licensure Exam Guide is one of the very few publications to provide a complete practice test! In addition to a mock quiz with highly similar test items, this guide provides a thorough review of key concepts, theories and advice. If you plan on becoming a school psychologist and taking the NASP exam, then the School Psychology Licensure Exam Guide is a necessity. Customer reviews Helpful by .. Shamrocks () I took the Praxis in March, 2008, and passed well above the NCSP score. The actual test was harder than the study guide, having 5 answer choices rather than 4. The study guide is more skewed towards parental involvement while the version of the Praxis I took was heavily behavioral. I hear that every version is different so still study everything and use flashcards! For the price of this little book it was well worth it.
Highly Recommend!!! by .. G. Bellino () Passed with a 710!!! Great book to prepare for the Praxis! The book focuses on sooo many topics that are actually on the test. I agree with everyone else though... Read through some of the major articles in Best Practices and info in Sattler's books. It def tied everything together for me!
Great Praxis Prep Tool by .. Sarah (San Antonio, TX) This is the book to buy to prepare for the School Psychology Licensure Exam (aka: Praxis). I studied in a great program and university, which offered many hands-on experiences prior to taking this exam; however, this book was all that I used to study, and I passed the test my first time. There were even questions on the actual exam that came directly from the practice test. All of my colleges have purchased this and have been satisfied as well. For those of you who want more, I also highly recommend reading the NASP Position Statements in the NASP Best Practices in School Psychology books, Volumes I and II. Good luck!
A decent resource for preparing for the exam by .. Brown Eyed Leo (University Park, PA) I will admit that I only looked at the practice test in the back of the book the day before the actual exam; however, the practice test was very representative of the actual test items (although some were outdated). In fact, some of the practice questions were on the actual exam.
Excellent resource by .. Jennifer Turner () I used this book, the Sattler texts, NASP Website and the School Psych Best Practice books. After reviewing a variety of texts and materials this book was the condensed summary that I needed to review before exam day. My score was 730 on the June 2007 session and was my first time writing. I also used it to help prepare for the EPPP and passed the July 2007 session of that exam.

nice book to be used together with the FAR/AIM by .. W. Tahon (New York, NY) This book is an excellent companion to the FAR/AIM. It is logically organised and written in clear language. Very helpful to prepare yourself for the checkride.
Very good study guide by .. () I used this book to help me study for the oral exam for my private pilot. It helps explain things that the FAR/AIM is not too clear about. It also does a good job at asking questions in the way the examiner would ask them. I recommend it to anyone getting ready to take their oral exam.

Required for school, but going into my personal library by .. Victoria Powell (Benton, AR) I am taking BSN courses and this text is required. The book includes a CD which I have not had the time to review.
The text is very good. It has a great flow from system to system. There are many color photos to explain the various findings. The book is through and I especially love the red text in the borders that explains the criticial thinking of the assessment coupled with the finding.
I own a Mosby's guide from my previous Nursing classes. I thought it was good until I purchased Bates. This is my new favorite examination text and one I will keep in my personal library for years to come.
Bates' Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking, Ninth Edition with E-Book by .. M. Dawson () Good book and a geat resource. This particular work places the patient History and exam in a logical and systematic approach with illustrations and study helps - a keeper.
Great Buy by .. Neeral Shah () I am a Physician Assistant Student and i have to admit that every semester we are required to buy books and at the end of every semester i sell my books buy. This was the only one i did not sell back. Its great for a person who is beginning the medical field and is great for someone who just wants to brush up on technique. The CD located in the back of the books is really not that helpful because it skips critical parts of the physical exam however its good to see how to do certain things. Most of the books chapters are well organized except for the HEENT chapter bc its all over the place. However i LOVE my Bates and i still use it on clinical rotations.

. Customer reviews Easy Read by .. S. Brown (Providence, RI USA) Though I never took the exam, I found this book very easy to follow and almost as good as having an instructor lead you.
Exceptional A+ Preparation Book by .. Sean Mayne () This book is a very good book for anyone planning to take the A+ certification exam. It covers every area thoroughly and the practice exams that it provides are very good.
Technically accurate by .. Steven A. O'Donnell () I like this book and the author(s) Written in a way that a 5 year old would not have trouble understanding..ok maybe not five but you needn't go to college to get the gist of it.
Great Aid by .. Certified FED (Hercules, CA USA) Mike Meyers' "A+ Certification All-in-ne Exam Guide, Sixth Edition (A+ Certification All in One Exam)" was a great help in passing the CompTia A+ exams. I successfuly passed the 601 Essentials and 602 IT Technician tests the first time around; praise God. I wish I had bought the book at the start of my Instructor lead program instead of in the middle.
As far as I was concerned the book was extremely readable not dry at all. So re-reading and/or studying was not that much of a chore. We were issued Mike Meyers' "Certification Passport...3rd Edition", however when I need to know something in depth I turned to "big book". If you have the money to invest I highly recommend this book!
Excellent! by .. Albert E. Straniti (Connecticut) This is the best book to use to study for the A+ exams. It even came with a CD containing practice tests. All this for 35 dollars is pretty darn good.

Product Description LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most important trend of development and it is revolutionizing the construction industry. It has gained tremendous momentum and has a profound impact on our environment. From this book, you will learn how to 1. Pass LEED AP exam. 2. Register and certify a building for LEED certification. 3. Understand the intent for each LEED prerequisite and credit. 4. Calculate points for LEED credit. 5. Identify the responsible party for each prerequisite and credit. 6. Earn extra credit (Exemplary Performance) for LEED. 7. Implement the local codes and building standards for prerequisite and credit. 8. Get points for categories not yet clearly defined by USGBC. Most of the existing books on LEED and LEED AP are too expensive and too complicated to be practical and helpful. This pocket guide demystifies LEED and uncovers the secrets, codes and jargons for LEED as well as the true meaning of "going green." It will set up a solid foundation and fundamental framework of LEED for you. It covers every aspect of LEED-NC in plain and concise language, and introduces it to ordinary people. This pocket guide is small and easy to carry around. You can read it whenever you have a few extra minutes. It is an indispensable book for ordinary people, developers, contractors, architects, landscape architects, civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers, interns, drafters, designers and other design professionals. Customer reviews More Than Just A Great LEED Exam Guide by .. Avrim Topel, Author of GREEN BEGINNINGS: The Story of How We Built Our Green & Sustainable Home () I recently completed building a LEED Silver home. During the process, I asked my professional team for books in addition to the LEED For Homes Reference Manual, which was sometimes confusing to me. I was given this Guide, and found it to be well organized and also very user friendly as a reference guide. The numerous tips on how to accumulate more points on the exam coincide and mirror the actual experience of how to score more points for LEED certification...very interesting.
Great exam prep resource by .. Terry L. Anderson (Santa Rosa Beach, FL) I just took and passed the LEED AP exam. The LEED AP Exam Guide was an invaluable resource. It brings the many facts you have to know in order to pass the exam together in a very straight forward format. It's easy to read and contains lots of memorization hints that helped me with the actual exam.
Why is "LEED AP Exam Guide" Needed? by .. Gang Chen (outskirtspress.com/examguide) There are a number of books that you can use to prepare for LEED AP Exam:
1. USGBC Reference Guide. Since you need to pass at least one of the three LEED Exams (LEED-NC, LEED-CI, LEED-EB) to become a LEED AP, you first need to decide which one of the 3 exams you want to take. You need to select the correct version of the Reference Guide for your exam. Most people tend to take LEED-NC exam to become LEED AP.
The USGBC Reference Guide is comprehensive, but it gives too much information (about 400 over-size pages). A lot of the calculations in the book are too detailed for the exam. It is also expensive (about $200.00 each, most people will not buy it for personal use, and will share an office copy instead).
It is good to read the reference guide from cover to cover if you have the time. The problem is not too many people have time to read the whole reference guide. Even if you do read the whole guide, you may not remember the important issues to pass the LEED AP exam anyway. You need to repeat your reading several times before you can remember any study materials.
Reading the reference guide from cover to cover without a guidebook is the most difficult and inefficient way of preparing LEED AP Exam, because you do NOT know what USGBC and GBCI is looking for in the exam.
2. The USGBC workshops and related handouts are concise, but they do not cover extra credits (exemplary performance). The workshops are expensive, costing hundreds of dollars each.
3. Various books published by third party and available on Amazon. Most of them are not very helpful.
There are many books on LEED, but there is not a really good one until now.
"LEED AP Exam Guide" will fill in the blanks and become your reliable source:
a. It gives you more information for your money. It has more information than the USGBC workshops.
b. It is exam-oriented and more effective than the USGBC reference guide.
c. It is better than most if not all of the other third party books. It gives you study materials, sample questions and answers, mock exam and answers, and critical information on building LEED certification (LEED-NC) and going green. Other third party books only give you a fraction of the information.
d. It is comprehensive yet concise. It is small and easy to carry around. You can read it whenever you have a few extra minutes.
e. It is a great timesaver. I have highlighted the important information that you need to understand and MEMORIZE. I also make some acronyms and short sentences to help you easily remember the credit names.
It should take you about one or two weeks of full time study to pass the LEED AP exam. I have met people spent 40 hours to study and pass.
You can find sample text and other information on "LEED AP Exam Guide" in customer discussion sections below.
A Great Timesaver! by .. Alice () LEED AP Exam Guide is a great timesaver! The important information that I need to memorize is already highlighted / underlined by the author. This really saves me a lot of time. I love it! A Great Timesaver!
A Great Book for Preparing LEED AP Exam! by .. Ellen () I have read almost all the books for LEED AP Exam, and found this one to be the best. The USGBC Reference Guide was too detailed and kind of confusing. Some other third party books have too many grammatical mistakes and are hard to understand, and way too many questions. The questions in some other third party books are confusing instead of helpful. The USGBC workshop missed some of the very important information, like extra credits.
LEED AP Exam Guide gives you just the right amount of information for you to pass the LEED AP Exam. It includes study materials, sample questions and answers, as well as mock exam and answers. It also gives you the most information for you to get your building LEED certified. A great book!

L. To (CA) This is the absolute bible to the ncidq. its a must read as its very basic and to the point. the questions weer similar to what was actually asked on the test, and its a great preparation. there has been newer editions since this one. but i strongly recommending investing on Ballast's reference manual when you are planning to take the ncidq.
Excellent Study Guide by .. Trish (Virginia) Essential study guide for the NCIDQ exam. Do not bother to purchase the one from NCIDQ - that has about 6 pages of test questions and no explanation of the answers. This book not only has tests at the end of each chapter with answers and explanations but also a drawing design practicum. Invaluable - cannot say enough about this book. Just completed all three sections of the NCIDQ exam this weekend and felt well prepared.
great study guide by .. C. Glaeser (chicago, IL) I'm studying to take the NCIDQ and this book is a great tool. Each chapter gives a thorough review of each section in the NCIDQ and then asks you sample questions so you can quiz yourself. The best part is the answers to the sample questions because it gives the explanation of why the answer is correct and why the other options were not. Very helpful because several questions make it hard to choose the best answer between 2 choices. It will also be a great tool for everyday use afer the exam for quick reference on projects.
ID Reference Manual by .. Angela Francis () I wanted this book so I ordered it and got it in a matter of days. It was new and in great condition. Thanks.
Lots of great information by .. Jeanette Loretz (SF Bay Area, CA) This reference manual should be a must read for all design students and new designers. Product Description An indispensable tool for pilots preparing for the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) commercial pilot oral exam, this guide contains the questions most frequently asked of applicants during their one-on-one “checkride” with an FAA examiner and prepares them for the flight review. Exact citations accompany each question and indicate where further reference material can be found in FAA literature. This revised edition—which features important FAA regulatory, procedural, and training updates—examines topics such as weather, airplane systems, emergency procedures, cross-country flight planning, aeromedical factors, and commercial flight maneuvers. Customer reviews Fair coverage due to the nature of the rating by .. Jim Carson (Bellevue, WA) Mr Hayes' guide is a fair and generic review for oral portion of the commercial (single-engine, airplane) checkride and covers required equipment (91.213, MELs), restrictions on flying for hire (part 91 vs 121), and general info on complex airplanes. The Gleim book has a more thorough coverage on regulations and maneuvers. Any guide like this should be a supplement to a review with your CFI. Most examiners have particular areas they wish to emphasize -- usually based on previous applicants or trends from the FAA/NTSB inspectors. Where this book is deficient, and this is largely because the nature of the commercial rating, is its description of advanced systems. This is because for the commercial, you take part or all of your checkride using a complex (retractible gear, cowl flaps, controllable pitck prop), airplane. The seriousness of the rating requires that you know a *lot* about the aircraft. Successful applicants will bond with the pilot operating handbook, as well as "memorize" the placement of every gage, knob and instrument. For the purposes of review, Mr Hayes assumes you have a Cessna 172RG, which is not a bad guess as it's among the cheaper and more ubiquitous training retractible airplanes available. He does a good job covering the basics of the 172rg differences (hydraulic landing gear, cowl flaps and prop). To his credit, he makes an attempt at including suggested power settings for the maneuvers. (Unfortunately, these will only be approximations, you have to try them in the plane you're going to do the exam in.)
