This is a pretty nice thing to have if you're a big Fallout fan or can find it somewhere for less than $30, it has all of the same info as the $25 standard guide plus a nice hardcover, some art in the back and an extra large poster map of the Wasteland.
I can understand the difficulty involved in writing a guide for such a massive and mostly non-linear game, and most or all of the info you will ever want is in this guide... somewhere. That's the only problem with the guide, if you have a question and need to look something up, good luck. It could be in a number of different places, and with no index, you'll find yourself going to the Table of Contents and guessing at different places to look. The organization of the book seemed strange to me at first, but the more I thought about it, it's probably the best way to do it considering the size of the game. It starts off with an in-depth look at the SPECIAL system and the different skills and perks, then follows up with some general tips for playing the game. Next up is the Bestiary, listing the different factions and enemies you will encounter, followed by a walkthrough for the main quest. Next up are walkthroughs for each of the many side quests, with explainations for all of the different branching points you may encounter in each. Following that is the Tour section, which exhaustively lists every location, item and person that you can find in the game. This section is probably where you will spend most of your time when you have questions while exploring, and it could really use an index. Next is a quick description of the different endings and how they are achieved, then some appendices which are actually quite useful, and finally an extras section which is mostly artwork with comments on how they made the game.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, having ordered from Amazon for $23.09.
I used the guide very little on my first way through the game, only checking it if I got stuck or had a specific question about consequences of certain choices, but I'm looking forward to starting a new game and using the guide extensively(this time I'm going to be a very bad character...)

I ordered this guide off Amazon and I have to say that Prima did an excellent job. It has info for all of the main quests and all of the side quests. One part of the guide that may be a bit difficult to navigate is the Tour of the Wasteland section where it lists every possible locale you can visit including info even on the freeform quests. It's very, very exhaustive.
The book itself is very well made The paper is not glossy. I can't really describe the feel of it. It's rougher than normal paper. It almost reminds me of the spelling paper I used in elementary school. I really like the paper. The guide is definitely built to last. The binding is very secure.
I foundd myself reading through it here and there even if I wasn't necessarily using it as a 'guide.' This is one of the more well made guides out there.

This is most likely the mostly in-depth and comprehensive strategy guide I have used (I only use them for RPGs). The authors did a most excellent job. It can even be daunting at first, as opening it up to any random page and viewing it's contents is like doing the same with a textbook, so much information. But once you learn how the book's laid out, it's not as overwhelming. The amount of valuable info held within is definitely worth the money, especially at Amazon's price. (I honestly don't know what the collector's edition provides other than it's nicer hardcover. I researched it before buying it, and that may be the only benefit.)

This is a comprehensive guide and very expansive. It shows you every single thing to earn, kill, complete, and find in the game. And for those who havent played the game yet, thats well over 120 hours worth of play time if you want to try and complete everything in the game in one playthrough.
However, ive had to bookmark sections to flip back and forth between because in reality you could get a headache because of the mass amount of things to do, and if you dont do them right you'll miss out on things. I honestly have gotten a headache or two because there really is so much to do. Make sure you read ahead in things before you atempt to head out in the wasteland or do new things. You will find many times that while doing one quest you must complete another in order to make the one you wanted to do originally have better rewards, or get more quests and people etc.
I think the only downfall of this guide is that things arent laid out in an exactly orderly fashion quest wise. You will have to have sections bookmarked to flip between them (as I stated above)
A word of advice to the new player: Create many saves, because you might get a glitch (which happens a bit too often) or do something to ruin the Autosave you just passed through. Save before you complete a quest, or speak to a new person, or take a new path...because that could exclude certain new objectives and items if you do them wrongly or say the wrong thing in speaking.

This book is beautiful and very well written. The one complainant I have is that it fell apart within the first week of using it. It is still usable but a chunk of pages falls out each time I open the book.

It looks like I will never have to look anything up on the internet for this game. as for everyone complaning there is no index they must not have looked through it good enough. if you check the very last page there is a content page with page numbers for each task, equipment, moves and abilities, characters, enemies, bosses, overworld maps, enviromental effects, weapons,dungeon and the legendary checklist. though even if it did not its nothing to cry about b/c the guides so straight forward that you should not even need any help.sure there is alot of content and going through it all is exausting but its better to be exausted then to be lost and miss something. XD

I found the Prince of Persia Collector's Edition guide to be surprisingly sufficient with its content (walkthrough), which is unusual with my experience using Prima guides (the Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth guide is a waste of paper). The front and back cover is gorgeous, adorned with the Prince's intricately designed gauntlet on the cover, and one of Elika's incantations (?) printed on the back in gold. The paper is vibrant and of high quality, the text easy on the eyes.
Although the "behind the scenes" interview was an interesting read (especially the amount of thought that was used in creating Elika as a character and a much needed ally) I was somewhat disappointed with the "art gallery" section. Having missed out on the game's preorder bonus that included a digital art book (I've been told the bonus was great!), I purchased this primarily for that reason. Unfortunately, there wasn't much art included in this book at all. Most of the images are small (but not ridiculously so) and can be seen by beating the game (actually, a good chunk of them have been omitted from the book's art section), or performing a simple internet search. There was a particular picture in the game's gallery I was hoping to be in print because I couldn't find this one via internet search, but unfortunately for me...it wasn't included. But for what it's worth, I love the art work regardless.
The exclusive art print is colorful, printed on a glossy 8x10 postcard-like sheet of paper (looks great framed, by the way!). I believe the art print is random. The copy I received illustrates the Prince standing in the shadows of a sand swept city, while I saw some one else's print had the Prince and Elika standing on a platform surfing on a sea of fire.
This latest installment to the Prince of Persia series REALLY doesn't need a walkthrough. However, I'd still recommend purchasing this book for the sake of its beauty and quality. If you have yet to beat PoP and still insist on using this guide, DO NOT read ahead, especially when you defeat the final boss. Prima authors seem to think players are too dimwitted to comprehend story events, and have a need to give away endings. The low price makes this book an absolute STEAL! I paid more for the MGS4 Limited Edition guide when it was first released!

Assassin's Creed limited Edition Artwork has a lot of production design into the riveting game by Ubisoft. You will be drawn into the production as these programmers and artist re-create the Holy Land of 1191. Actual city layouts are identical to the time period, masses of people move in and out and great care was taken in the design of their clothings, their look and their manners. All of this described in great detail in the pages of this book. One of the best how-it-was-made guides.

I haven't played Assassin's Creed, nor do I have a platform that supports it - I just wanted to mention that up front. I'm a fan and collector of conceptual art books, and after having seen the trailers and commercials for this game, I decided to go ahead and get this book. It's a nice book, certainly, chock-full of illustrations that helped in the conceptualization of the game, everything from the minutiae of the main character's costume, to various images of knights, peasants, etc. It's nicely produced, printed of good paper, and has a sturdy hardcover binding. I suppose why this book gets 3 stars is because there's nothing here that is especially eye-popping or earth-shattering here: while the art is well done, it's fairly ordinary and I wish there were more interesting designs, etc. Additionally, the commentary text seems to have been hurriedly edited, as I noted some typos, etc. I'd recommend this book for conceptual art collectors and, probably, diehard fans of the game.

Cuando adquiri la edición de coleccionistas de Assassins Creed lo hice por el libro de arte que pense venia con el juego. Realmente venia tan solo un previo lo cual me decepciono bastante (aunque por el comic y la figurilla todavia vale la pena). Habia quedado con la curiosidad de ver todo ese trabajo detras del juego asi que decidi buscar el verdadero libro de Arte. Quede sorprendido por el nivel de detalle y buen trabajo que hicieron con el libro. Esta divido por secciones, tocando en cada segmento a personajes (principales y secundarios), escenarios, etc. Esta tan bien hecho que me parecio corto, queria mas, aun cuando son alrededor de 150 paginas dedicadas al arte de este juego. Si estudias ilustración, arte, amas los video juegos, este libro no puede faltar en tu coleccion. El juego no es perfecto, pero si es bastante bueno y entretenido. Si embargo todavia se queda corto tratando de reflejar todo el trabajo y estetica que los chicos de Ubi realizaron para llegar hasta ahi. I bought this at Gamestop, thinking it had the game with it as well. Turns out it's just the guide and artbook. How misleading could something be? It had the ESRB rating on it, system requirements, and, on the back, read "One Game of Evolution, Two Species of Books!". Looked and sounded an AWFUL lot like it contained the game as well. I wish I would have known better. Fortunately, the stock image clarifies that it's JUST the artbook and guide, and DOESN'T contain the game as well. Buy it online to avoid disappointment.

A combination of 2 strategy guides for less than 13 dollars? What a deal. I got this in the Battlechest, and I must say that on some of the expansion set levels it has been helpful. The maps at the end of the book are an added bonus.

This is pretty useful for checking out movelists for the various Pokémon. However, the information they give on stats is shaky, and sometimes actually incorrect when you do careful comparison between base stats for each creature. In general, the information is still in the ballpark, but the system they use can sometimes make it difficult to get an accurate comparison between two creatures without actually going in the game and leveling them up.
Also, the book really needs a list of the various Natures and their effects.
Overall, it's a nice purchase, though, and the hardcover is a great plus.

I picked up this "collector's edition" mainly because I loved the corresponding one for Twilight Princess. This one is written by a different author, but is published by the same company, so I figured they'd be similar. Not so.
First of all (and perhaps beside the point) Super Mario Galaxy is not that difficult or expansive game as to require a guide. The way this thing is laid out makes reading it difficult and looks like a highschool yearbook staff could have thrown it together. Definitely not of the quality and depth of the Zelda book. I definitely DO NOT recommend this to anyone. If you really must use a guide for the game, pick up the cheaper one that isn't bloated and poorly done like this. I'm really disappointed b/c the Zelda guide was so great!
