Customer reviews Very enlightening book for a real economic dummy by .. Pokey (PA, USA) This book has taught me a lot about economics. I was a true economic dummy before reading it, but I now have a solid grasp on the basics of economics.
Anyhow, the book covers a lot of different economic subjects, such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, property rights, interest rates, supply and demand, the Federal Reserve, and much more. Each chapter goes into adequate depth of the material being covered. The book is written in layman's terms so that it is easy digested and understood.
I definitely recommend buying this book. I learned a lot from it.
The only reason I did not give the book five stars is because the author occasionally likes to portray his biased opinions as fact. It is a slight tarnish on an outstanding book.
Economics for Dummies by .. Eric H. Smith () I thgought this was a very informative book. For such a tough subject matter, the author kept you interested. This book teaches you the nuts & bolts of economics so you can now form your own opinion. Word of caution....have a fresh mind when going over graphs & charts....you need to understand these !
superior primer by .. Steven Becker (New Jersey) This is the best primer on basic economics I've ever read. Masaki writes with tremendous clarity. As promised, every concept covered--always clearly and with admirable thoroughness--is accompanied by relevant, illuminating real-life examples. The book is a treasure for anyone wanting to discover the world of economics.
Good stuff... by .. Mrs. G. L. Booth (UK) Haven't read it all yet but its well written and funny so far.
Think I will learn a lot from it.
Great book..very easy to understand by .. G. Carr () Economics can be a very complex subject, but this book does a great job of breaking it down into very easy to understand language. The author starts by explaining the basics of economics, both macro and micro, and then gives real world examples that allow you to understand what he just explained. Every person who has a job or has investments should know something about basic economics and this book will make that very easy. Who knows you might even be able to see trends coming before they hit and be able to make proper ajustments in your finances to protect yourself and your family.

I would say that I'm pretty knowledgable about blogs (which are popular, how to read them, where to find them, how posting often helps increase the hits, etc). This book covered everything I already knew in one place. So if you know what I know and a little more, don't waste your money with this book. If you are completly new to blogging, this is a good foundation.
Holy Moley! What a book by .. Georgia A. Weaver (Alta, IA United States) Are you kidding me!?!??? This is one great book. For a never before blogger this book helped me setup, start and gave me strategies to develop my presence and increase my business. I feel like I need to pay Susannah a referral fee - I am a Realtor after all. Fortunately in Iowa a referral fee to a nonlicnesed person is illegal. I have read this and read this, I use it for reference and it is so highlighted that I am now having to use different highlighter colors to try to keep up with the topics. Oh, I just need to buy another one and color code it. If you are even thinking about blogging get this book, block out a weekend, take lots of notes, and have at lease 5 highlighter colors!
Very helpful and insightful by .. Gary Bridgman (Midtown Memphis) Well researched, too. Good primer for getting up to speed.
Fast read | Good for readers unfamiliar with the Blogsphere by .. Jason A. Cyr (Tampa, FL USA) If the word "Blogsphere" is completely foreign to you, you will find this book to be a good introduction into the world of blogging. If you've created your own blogs in the past (using Blogger or some other tools), then you may benefit from something a little more advanced.
Great book for the basics by .. D. Korte () My client wanted to have a blog and I needed to learn the basics about blogs in short order. This book is a quick read and I was standing in front of their executive board in 1 week with a customized sample blog in place for their review and questions. I received a signed contract that day. Thank you for this book. On the down side, the specific blog software I used was not included in the book for review. Marketing was an important topic in my meeting and the book provided a nice, simple layout on the differences with other media and provided great ideas. The corporate blogging topic was helpful.

AMAZING! by .. C. Taylor (Baltimore, MD) I love the book!! It's an insider's look at the ever-changing world of job hunting--Joyce Layne Kennedy really knows her stuff. She takes you step-by-step through the process you should go through to write a perfect resume. And of course it reads with a witty edge that entertains you while you learn!
I love the core resume to the spin-off concept! by .. Kathryn K. Troutman (Baltimore, MD) Hi Joyce, In Chapter 1, you introduce a very easy Core Resume to Spin-off Resume style! This is great! So easy to focus, target and only rewrite about one-third of page ONE! And you are so right, the only way to write and post a resume in this job market is COMPLETELY TARGETED to the job.
5 Top Target Skills !! All of the samples in the book - 48 of them - written and produced by Kathryn Troutman's The Resume Place, Inc., team - are great. The targeting style with the box at the top, targeting text in the resume, are very helpful for resume writers.
Thanks Joyce for an all new, targeted resume book. Everyone needs to STAND OUT IN THEIR EXACT AREA OF EXPERTISE.
Resume for Dummies, Fourth Edition by .. Nancy H. Weimer (Philadelphia, PA USA) I highly recommend that every job seeker, no matter what your status, read this book. No others will hold a candle to it. I would not be able to describe how much I would be struggling, if it were not for this book. Just take the time to relax, put your feet up and read it from cover to cover. Building my resume came next (I had never done one due to years of service at my previous employer) and I used so many tips in that book while writing it. It actually does a wonderful job of preparing you for all aspects of your job search.

Customer reviews Great basic info. by .. J. Turner (Houston, Texas United States) When my father handed me this book, I rolled my eyes. As a "downsized" IT professional, I am intimately familiar with recruiters and online job systems, and fully expected this book to rehash what I already knew. It did. However, it does contain information that is valuable for beginners. Most of the information is right on the money. Compared to other online job searching books, this one has a lot of good information, so much so that it risks detracting you from your job search (ignore the information about taking the time to convert your resume into HTML and posting it on your own website).
Want the Job of your dreams, BUY THIS BOOK! by .. davidgloer@yahoo.com (Pyongtaek, Korea) This book is so well written and helpful 1000 words would not suffice to tell all the good solid advice it includes. Im retiring from the Army, needless to say my job search strategies were 20 years out of date, UNTIL I read this book. Pam taught me how to write a solid resume for the internet, what sites to post it on, and how to respond to the inquiries I received as well as how to choose the best job from all the offers I would get. I followed the instructions and within 72 hours I was flooded with email on specific jobs in the field I was searching for. Hey, this book saved my life, I'm in Korea and having to conduct a job search from overseas is not something I was looking forward to. The book also contained stellar advice on how to prepare for job interviews, how to research a prospect employer, etc etc etc. AND came with a bonus CD. I checked this book out of the library after buying 2 books on the subject (which were nowhere near as good) but today I'm ordering "Job Searching Online for Dummies" to add to my private collection. Thanks Pam for writing such a helpful book.
A Must for Today's Job-hunters! by .. () I spent 3 1/2 months job hunting with no success before I got an Internet connection. Now I have my connection and used this excellent book to get myself up to speed on online job searching. Little did I know how significantly the job search game has changed! This book got me up to speed in very short order. It tells you everything you need to know about "keyword" "Plain-text" and "scannable" resumes for use on the web. It also gives good advice on maintaining internet privacy, (how to avoid getting your identity stolen), which job databases to use and which to avoid, how to reformat your resume for resume databases... I put my resume on one database, e-mailed a few text-only copies in response to online ads, and my telephone hasn't stopped ringing since! This method, fortunately or unfortunately, is the wave of the future. There is a CD included in the book, but I found enough information within the book that I didn't need to use it.
