I've read the book twice and felt the author was giving a true insight to the industry more than just preparing me for the Network+ exam. It provides alot information and a good reference for the exam. However the CD with sample exams and questions are either wrong or the answers don't match the question. I purchased the A+ kit and the questions had similar problems but not as bad as this. I will be getting other sample question resources.

The book contained in this kit is awesome. However, I now realize I probably would've been better off buying the book alone instead of the entire kit. Unfortunately I also bought this kit without first scanning the price of this online at amazon.com. Turns out the kit is half the price here. That's about $50 for flash cards. Not worth it, but don't let that discourage you from buying it. Though the flash cards were not as helpful as the book it was a good way to reinforce the knowledge from the book without spending hours reading the whole book again. This book takes some good time to read through, and it is in depth as advertised. I did in fact take the Network+ exam about 3 weeks after going through this book twice and did pass.

This is a great buy! It was worth almost twice as much at the store. There are a lot of "For Example..." to help you with the theory - For example: It gives you the theory and then puts you in a scenario to help you better understand what you just read. The CD is an excellent tool and the flash cards work great. I am half way through the book at the time of this review and I already have a much better understanding of what I thought I knew. Well worth the money I spent. Just remember - try to read a chapter once a day or in two days to get through the book quickly.

I was somewhat doubtful at first about this book. After all it has only 280 pages and not sure if I would need a 2nd book for the exam. But don't let the number of pages fool you. This book gets right to the point, This is the only book you will ever need for the Network+ test.
With only 280 pages, it's an easy read. I studied hard for less than a week. There are several things that you will have to memorize such as different type of cables, connectors, connection speeds, ports & applications. If you do your homework and know the material from cover to cover, you can easily pass the test.
