In this collection of essays, Mr. Spence humorously tackles everyday domestic issues that each of us encounter during the course of our lives. Cheap Therapy studies a myriad of household subject matter ranging from whether a toilet seat should be left up or down to why a washing machine should be appealing to men. This book takes on the two major theaters of conflict that face each of us - the battle of the bulge and the battle of the sexes. As in his previous release, The Herman Effect, Mr. Spence focuses in on the routine in our lives and displays both its absurdity and its nurturing values. Mr. Spence has us look at ourselves to see who we really are and what we discover is that we are not ugly, we are not beautiful, we are simply human.
