Product Description "One little snowflake falls on my nose. It makes me shiver from my head to my toes." A little girl plays outside on a cold winter day, counting each snowflake as it falls softly to the ground. Bundled in her warmest snowsuit, she savors the snow, tasting each flake as it falls on her tongue, and makes snow angels. Simple rhyming text captures the joy of a winter afternoon while teaching basic counting skills. Exuberant pastel illustrations invite young readers to join the fun. Customer reviews Adorable! by .. Magnum Fan (California) My daughter has enjoyed reading this book since she was two years old. She is now six and can read it to me, which I love. The text flows well, is sweet, and does a great job of creating a soft, wintry feel. Great for counting one to five as well. It can be difficult to find Asian children featured in illustrations and it was refreshing to see the adorable girl in this book...looks a bit like mine ;-)
Beautifully illustrated !!! by .. KSL (Seminole, Fl United States) I absolutely love the illustrations in this book! Elizabeth Sayles did a terrific job of capturing a young Asain girls romp in the snow! This book makes me hope it will snow a little this winter, just so my daughter & I can go out in the snow and relive the book together!
Wonderful Pictures, Beautiful Words by .. Dianne Soares (Northern California) Mary McKenna Siddals has captured the beauty and joy of a young child's playful interaction with snowflakes. This is a book to read aloud with a baby or toddler on your lap. These evocative rhymes perfectly compliment Elizabeth Sayles lovely pastel illustrations of the uninhibited joy of a child in the snow. Millions of Snowflakes is a book that begs to be read again and again. It's a counting book that teaches the numbers 1-5. This however is just an additional bonus to it's value as a great read-aloud book for very young children.
Quiet and magical - not unlike falling snow by .. Lisa Scagliotti (Waterbury, Vermont) I sought out this book to buy after getting it from our local library for my 19-month-old daughter. At first, it seemed like a snoozer as I paged through it at the library, but I added it to our pile anyway. It seemed timely, if nothing else since it was winter here. My daughter surprised me later when we opened it at home. Before I began reading, she pointed furiously at the pictures. "Boots!" She said as she identified the little girl's snow gear. Same with her scarf and snowsuit. She then proceeded to imitate the pictures pretending to catch snowflakes on her eyes, her hand and her tongue, saying "yum, yum" along as I read. She even learned how to make a snow angel from the illustration. When we were done, I often got her little "again" to go back to the beginning. So, I was wrong. It was a hit. A very soft-spoken, gentle rhyme and picture book that captures the magic of falling snow for toddlers.

A Rose by Any Other Name Would Smell As Sweet! by .. Richard M. Stellar (Woodland Hills, CA USA) Sometimes selecting an appropriate name for your progeny takes some research. I wanted Poindexter and my wife wanted Mike. So there was some disconnect. This book may be the most important one you buy - ever. So many names with cool derivatives and origins. We were going to settle on a nice Jewish inspired name to fit our cultural background. However, upon birth, we decided on Jermaine.

Product Description It’s April, spring is in the air, and Callie and Tom have just spent a wonderful few weeks getting to know each another after years of a telephone–only relationship. But as their time together draws to a close, they are called to the hospital bed of mutual friend Eli Gold, who has just been shot. Eli asks Callie to find out who is responsible for the shooting and begs Tom to help her. The search leads Tom and Callie to the beautiful island of St. John in the Virgin Islands. There they face a sinister enemy among the ruins of an old sugar plantation—an enemy who’s willing to do anything to keep his identity secret and the past deeply buried. Customer reviews The best one in this series so far by .. M. Kay DeFreese (Ruston, LA USA) I haven't read the last book in this series yet but up until now book 4 "A Quarter for a Kiss" has been the best one so far. I am about to read the next one so I might change my mind. While the first three books started off slow, this one started out from the beginning keeping you in suspense. It was at least 1/3 through the other books before it even got suspenseful. Also in this book we learn a great deal about the mysterious Tom Bennett. We learn about his past and his connection to Eli. We also learn some secrets about Eli but I won't mention it here and spoil the story for you. Callie and Tom's romance grows stronger in this one. Another thing about this book and I believe which has already been mentioned is that this book ends on a cliffhanger. None of her other books have done this. I'm starting book five which is the last. I regret it is the last. I'm going to miss Callie and Tom.
It should be a movie! by .. Linda Johnston (Brownsville, TX USA) The entire series has been exceptional. I have learned a lot about charitable organizations while enjoying the mysteries. Mindy Starns Clark is one of my favorite authors and she did a great job on this book. Each book has had a major mystery, but a secondary one in the person of Tom. It has been interesting as we have learned more about Tom in each book. I think a movie series could be made of these outstanding stories - expecially this one.
Strong Fourth Entry in a Great Series by .. Mark Baker (Santa Clarita, CA United States) Tom and Callie finally get to spend some time getting to know each other in person. Almost alone at a retreat in North Carolina, one week has stretched into three, but the real world is calling again and they must reluctantly part ways.
Just as they reach the airport, Callie gets a phone call from Stella Gold. Her husband Eli has just been shot by a sniper and is in surgery. Before loosing consciousness, he specifically asked for the two of them to come. Since Eli is such a good friend, they drop everything and rush to his bed side.
A PI, Callie wants to figure out what happened to Eli. The only clue is a warning from someone named Nadine. When Eli and Stella's condo is searched, it is further proof that someone is after him. Where might he have hidden his notes? And why did Eli request Tom's presence?
As this series has progressed, the plots have only gotten strong, and this book is no exception. It starts with a bang and keeps right on going. Every time an answer comes, it only leaves more questions. Yet Callie and Tom keep digging, getting themselves further and further in trouble. While some things seemed obvious a little early on, there are still several nice twists along the way that keep the reader guessing.
Fans of the series will be happy to learn that Tom is a very active part of this book instead of only a presence like in previous entries. In fact, we even get to learn what he does, finally. His relationship with Callie continues to grow as she continues to move on from her husband's death. In fact, one of the strong points of the series is watching Callie finally truly deal with her grief.
The writing style is still a little rough, keeping the reader a little more at bay by telling instead of showing. It's not a big problem, however, and I found myself staying up too late reading every night to see what would happen in the next chapter.
The only problem with this book is the cliffhanger ending. Even though I saw it coming (I've read the back of the next book already), it still left me wanting to pick up the next book right away. Which isn't really a bad thing at all.
With a strong plot and great characters, this Christian mystery series is wonderful entertainment.
A page turner by .. Rosamede (Minnesota) The first book in the Million Dollar Mysteries that you get to see Callie and Tom work so closely together. Clark drives the story along amongst breathtaking scenery, and mounting action. She kept me turing the pages and I finished the story in a short time. The Christianity part wasn't overbearing. I enjoyed being able to see a bit more of Tom, and can't wait to read what the next book will tell of him and Callie.
The only flaw with the series is that the story is "told" to you. I feel as if I don't get to feel and see as Callie actually does, that she is holding me slightly at bay. For a story written in FP POV, I'd like to have more of my senses involved. But it still is a good read.
Buckle Your Seat Belts by .. Cynthia Chow (Kaneohe, Hawaii) Charity investigator Callie Webber finally seems to be having some joy in her life. Although heartbroken by the death of her beloved husband in a boating accident, she has just started to explore a relationship with Tom Bennett, Callie's boss and the philanthropist behind the J.O.S.H.U.A. Foundation. As they are ending their vacation together in the North Carolina mountains they receive a devastating call; Eli Gold, Tom's friend and Callie's mentor, has just been shot and his last words before sliding into unconsciousness were to ask for the couple's help. After rushing to Eli's bedside they discover that he had been tracking down a woman he had thought was dead but is apparently very much alive. Callie also learns that Eli has been hiding his own secret past, namely his history with the National Security Agency and his ties with the mysterious woman. As Tom and Callie follow the trail to the Caribbean island of St. John they find themselves involved in a complicated scheme involving art fraud, secret identities, and double-crosses. Complicating matters is that just as Callie allows herself to believe that it's possible to find two loves in a lifetime she must confront Tom's own past and whether she has enough trust left in her to believe in him. Although labeled an inspirational Christian mystery, Quarter for a Kiss easily crosses into the mainstream thriller genre with its fascinating plot and fast pace. The action speeds up as Tom and Callie use his rock climbing skills to stage an elaborate break-in into an extensively guarded home and coordinate their investigation with federal agents. One of the most entertaining scenes is the detailed description of Callie's attempt to place bugs within the home of their suspect by using actual bug traps. Additionally, Clark so vividly paints a picture of St. John that the reader feels the breezes and sees the clear ocean. The author successfully creates great characters that are conflicted and very real, from Jodi, Eli's immature adult daughter, to Sergeant Abraham Ruhl, the St. John's police officer who is unwilling to give up his investigation to Interpol or the NAS. Of course, Clark's greatest achievement comes with Callie and Tom, who are both very engaging and slowly building a stronger relationship together. Callie's wit, investigative skills, perseverance, and faith will ensure the success of this fourth entry in the winning Million Dollar Mystery series.

The biggest and most complete answer book ever, The Million Word Crossword Answer Book is your master key for unlocking any crossword puzzle. Customer reviews Nothing like the Million Word Dictionary by .. W. Cason (Mississippi) I have owned the Million Word Dictionary so long that I had to buy a new copy, the other one got ragged. While I was at it, I got the Million Word Crossword Answer Book since it was by the same authors. I work NY Times Sunday crosswords exclusively and can't solve them without the MW Dictionary, which I use constantly. But since I purchased the MW Crossword Answer Book, which is just a collection of lists of possible words, I have only used it one time, and that was only sort of. Most crossword puzzles of real difficulty require imagination or else specific resources -- French or Latin dictionaries, or $50 world atlases, or the OED, for example; or else something not even a Thesaurus can help you with. You are NOT going to find the word you need from a list of possible words. It just can't be complete enough. By the way, even the MW Dictionary is far from complete. You still need the World Almanac, Stars and Planets, and even a book on Mythology like Edith Hamilton's. Sorry, but the MW Crossword Answer Book is nearly useless in my experience. The MW Dictionary is 25 times more useful at least. What the authors need to do is work on a TWO million word crossword dictionary!
NY Times Puzzler by .. R. Castillo (Antelope, CA) I go through stages of addicition with the NYT puzzles to taking a few months off. I had the NYT Crossword dictionary and loved it but it was paperback plus well used so it fell apart after a couple years. I looked for several months for the newest version (and in hardcover) of a NYT puzzle dictionary but the only one was my old published 8 or more years before. Anyway I saw the Million Word Crossword Dictionary in Hardcover and the latest publishing date with Wil Shortz as a reviewer(sorry cannot think of the word I want to say-is it prologue done by Wil Shortz?), so I bought it. I love it but wish it had tabs for each letter like a regular dictionary. I than saw The Million Word Crossword Answer Book by the same author so I bought it. I always thought myself pretty good at puzzles with some help from the dicitionaries, but I cannot figure this book out. Maybe if someone explained it to me a light bulb will go off but as of right now it just sits with its mate.Maybe tabs of some sort would help this book and me. It did have some interesting information in the back but never knew it was there until I went on sabbatical from puzzles. So I cannot even tell you what it is-I think trivia questions/answers common in NYT puzzles.
I have actually used it a few times playing scrabble when desperate. SO PRO for SCRABBLE PLAYERS!!
Hope this helps...

TWO books, similar names. For this one get electronic solver instead by .. S. Morgan (Novato, CA USA) I bought this book thinking it was a newer updated publication of A DIFFERENT book I have (wih a VERY SIMILAR NAME). Published in 2004 by the same authors, THE MILLION WORD CROSSWORD "DICTIONARY" has tons of hard to find celebrites, brand names & movies. I love THAT book, and it may actually be the book you are seeking. This book's title is THE million word CROSSWORD "ANSWER BOOK" - and is large awkward book that helps you find a word by "missing letters". Quite frankly, I have an ELECTRONIC crossword puzzle solver that does the same thing in less time and is MUCH EASIER to use. They're small, light, handy, and most electronic versions also spell and unsramble. Trust me, if this IS the type of crossword help you are really looking for, buy an electronic solver instead. If you want answers to clues, buy the MILLION WORD CROSSWORD "DICTIONARY" version.

I will say that this book isn't for individuals already in the affiliate marketing business. However, everyone that is just starting out or interested in getting into this business MUST read this. It's very detailed in what steps to take, and Anthony Borelli offers GREAT assistance and guidance with his experience!
I'm a full time student looking to make some extra money, by no means was I looking to make a ton of money, but after reading this I see that it's VERY possible! This book was GREAT and has helped me SO much!
Technique but no cookie by .. Darryl Parker (Charlotte, NC) As someone who has spent over a decade on the Internet, I understand the fundamentals of the building of a tool or the utilization of a tool that can be used to generate money online. If you understand this too, then skip this one.
This book is for the complete novice. BUT if that novice buys it, they will regret it because they will spend hours and hours toiling to get to an expert level of understanding on how to build and utilize a system such as this and then be faced with the same outcome I was.
There is absolutely no recommendation for products and services that do well in this environment. All of the check copies posted in the book were dated from 2005 which most folks know was the hay-day of the search marketplace and literally was the first year in existence for the pay-per-click marketplace. Today's marketplace, especially in the affiliate realm, is extremely more competitive largely because of books like this. There was no effort expended in addressing this competitive pressure and the resulting gap reduction between affiliate commission and PPC bids.
At the end of the day, folks, there are no easy millions. You must be ahead of a trend like Mr. Borelli, to exploit such an opportunity. Once the rest of the world has caught up, the only thing you can hope to do is ... you guessed it ... sell a book to teach others how to do it.
Basic tools for the online gold rush by .. Rufus Quail () My experience was similar to that of "gordo the lordo." Plenty of clicks but just a few orders. Getting clicks isn't hard. What kind of clicks? That's the $1,000,000 question.
As a search engine advertiser, your task is to capture the clicks of consumers who have made a buying decision or are very close. These clicks will make money for you. The clicks of people who are "just browsing" will cost you money. You have to be a student of online search behavior.
You capture money-making clicks by finding highly relevant keywords and writing focused ads. How hard can it be? Get your ads up and running, tweak them, and watch the money roll in. You only need basic English skills and common sense. A degree in advertising or English is not going to help.
I would encourage anyone to try it because you may discover that you have the knack. By spending $500 or so, you should be able to get an idea how well you might do. Don't make the mistake I made, which was to let my ads capture several hundred clicks without getting any orders. I kept thinking "the orders will kick in." They didn't. Stop your ads after 200-300 clicks and wait for results. (Even 50 clicks are too many with retail sites.) You can either tweak the ad (if it's close to break-even) or abandon it and try something else. Tweaking wouldn't have helped my ads, which earned pennies for every dollar spent on clicks.
You are playing the keyword market on Google. Some keywords sell for $20 per click and more. Search engine advertisers don't get caught up in keyword "bubbles." They are only after potent "value" keywords that sell for 25 cents or less.
The keyword market is like a gold rush. Everywhere you look the ground is torn up by hordes of stampeding prospectors. You wander far and wide hoping to find a stone that hasn't been turned. How many thousands of other guys are out there trying the same thing? Good luck.
You never know. You might have the knack. Affiliate Millions gives you everything you need to know to get started. When I joined my first affiliate program and set up my first ads, I had the book open and followed it not step-by-step but word-for-word. It's just the kind of "excruciating" detail a beginner needs.
Mr. Borelli explains how to evaluate the earnings potential of an affiliate program. The profit, or course, depends on your revenue per click. An adgroup for $20 books may not be the way to go.
Should you actually make money, there is a chapter on campaign finance. You have to manage your cash flow to optimize performance. If another book on online advertising has this kind of chapter, I haven't seen it.
Mr. Borelli has set up the Affiliate Millions website for "prospectors." The only item listed for sale is the book. There is a free monthly newsletter. There are no ads. Mr. Borelli answers questions on the site's discussion board. If you are at all familiar with the "get rich online" racket you know how exceptional this is. Such sites are usually crammed with ads and have little useful information.
Mr. Borelli's advice is a bit sketchy and vague. He has developed a magic formula for writing ads that attract buyers while somehow discouraging clicks of the merely curious. He's not about to share his ad-writing insights. His only comment is "Content is King." OK.
Evidently, if Mr. Borelli were to provide even broad hints, everyone would catch on and put him out of business. You get all the sizzle but no steak. On his website, Mr. Borelli offers to critique ads sent to him by acolytes. Take him up on the offer. Maybe you too will discover those hypnotic buzzwords that make the difference between zero and hero.
Mr. Borelli makes no promises that prospectors will get rich. He merely suggests that it is possible. He ends the opening chapter with "Take it step-by-step and read the chapters that follow, and you'll stand a good chance of becoming an Affiliate Millionaire yourself." If he starts the book by saying your chances are practically nil, no one will continue reading.
Like "gordo," I'm amazed that anyone could make millions at this. A million dollars in a year is $2,700 a day. You would have to consider yourself pretty successful with $2,700 a day in SALES, never mind commissions. You would have to strike it rich with multiple million-dollar campaigns. You would have to come up with new ones all the time.
Think of the millions in revenue Mr. Borelli is generating for the companies he advertises for. They should throw a party for him.
Didn't work for me by .. gordo the lordo (from the planet zookar) I tried the principles in this book. I set up some ads for a variety of products and different companies through Commission Junction and was, at first, delighted that I was getting a good amount of clicks. I was confident the ads were good enough because of some experience I've had in the past writing copy.
However, after over 250 clicks to major websites that boasted a large earnings per click, I got one sale and a large $ loss. The ads were good enough to catch the people's attention, but no one was buying.
I think this is a tough way to go at it. A website might be the better way to go. I am amazed that anyone could make any money doing this, never mind millions.
Direct and Immediately Useful by .. A.I.R. () I was seeking a detailed, practical and thorough "how-to" approach to build internet-based revenue. This book filled the bill. It covered all key facets of the approach - particularly helpful for a layperson - as well as for someone with web-based experience (as am I). I have yet to test the specific recommendations. The book was solid.

Product Description “The most lacerating tale of drug addiction since William S. Burroughs’ Junky.” — The Boston Globe“Again and again, the book delivers recollections that leave the reader winded and unsteady. James Frey’s staggering recovery memoir could well be seen as the final word on the topic.”— San Francisco Chronicle“A brutal, beautifully written memoir.”— The Denver Post“Gripping . . . A great story . . . You can’t help but cheer his victory.” — Los Angeles Times Book ReviewCustomer reviews The underlying story behind A million little pieces by .. AJ (Dubai) Before buying the book I was well aware of the community's outburst on his over exaggeration and how it brings those who go through rehab to shame yet despite all this, I still found the book quite an enjoyable read. Having said that, the main reasons I really enjoyed this book is becuase it is of my first reads into the worlds of rehab and memoirs of alcoholism which is why i probably feel that perhaps his exaggeration was intentional for readers to understand his perception that addiction is of mans fault, not something in your genetics or any type of disease, it was in the persons hand and I truly believe in that idea becuase there still may be hope without the use of AA and the 12 steps.
The book shows of a man who is a misguided soul from the very first day he was born, All his memories and recollections are always associated with drugs and alcohol even as young as the age of 10! That is all james frey knew in his life, Drugs and Alcohol. At 23 when his body was ready to die out on him he decided to give life a chance and entered this rehab facility where he decided that he could try and change. It wasn't an easy battle at all yet his struggle was so raw you really understood the depth of his addiction and his struggle and understand as he puts his guards down where the source of addiction really came from.
It is an eye opener of a book and still worth reading especially for people who would like to learn more about the world of addiction.
Fiction Or Not, It's A Great Read! by .. Donis Dzialo (St. Paul, MN) I really enjoyed this book even with all the controversy surrounding it. It really does have a little bit of everything in it and it was one I couldn't put down. I would highly recommend it, especially for anyone who has either been through treatment or been close to someone who has.
One of the Worst Books I've Ever Read by .. Doofie (NYC) I've never been an alcoholic or a drug addict, so perhaps I don't have the background to really understand this book, but I found it to be boring, horribly written (the nonstop repetition was ridiculous-we get it, you're a criminal) and downright irresponsible. Its one saving grace was that it was a "brutally honest memoir" but hmmm...turns out he lied about, basically...everything, folks! And yes, it matters. When he writes a memoir of being in rehab where he gives counselors constant attitude, breaks rules, and does whatever he wants and then presents himself as clean and successful...and it turns out none of this actually happened-yeah, I think that's irresponsible. There are addicts and alcoholics everywhere who NEED the structure of rehab, and when he presents himself erroneously as having gotten clean without following their rules, which is not true...yes, that's a problem. I found the character of Lily whiny and annoying, kind of relieves me that no such irritating human being ever existed, because that's one of the many things Frey made up. Can't really say anything good about this piece of garbage masquerading as literature. I hear he wrote a novel that was critically acclaimed...too bad, that man will never be getting another dime from me. He should switch to a pseudonym, his work has no credibility.
When the book got to the mafia guy by .. Royce Gracie (Torrence, California) I picked up this book with some interest. From the opening paragraph, I sensed this is BS. I mean you're covered vomit and blood with serious head injuries and a plane lets you on?!?!? Come on! This is right up there with Hillary Clinton running under sniper fire.
But what really set me over the edge was when Frey started in with his cliched mafia character.
Frey's problem is that rehab is not at all a very interesting place.
Unbelievable and bad, or unbelievably bad by .. Blair (Boston, MA, USA) I can't believe anyone ever believed this story could be true. The characters are unbelievable, two-dimensional, and unlikeable. The protagonist is sanctimonious and substance-less, nothing like any real addict I know. Emotional breakthroughs come as if a switch has been turned, and within minutes and with no real introspection. And the writing is repetitive, unoriginal, and annoying. Writing the same sentence over and over and then adding the f-word to the same sentence is something that a 15-year-old might do in a remedial creative writing class.

year during the holidays I put on 12 pounds from
Thanksgivings till New years eve. This year using
the CD and the tapping technique I lost 10
pounds over the holiday and ate what I wanted
even to the point on eating a small losf of fruit
cake over the six weeks. I listen to the CD
every night and every day. Only takes 28 minutes.
At night I go to sleep listening to it. I have a cheese
cake here that has been here over six weeks in freezer.
Before that would have been gone in less than a week.
I eat it when i want it--so far don't crave like I use to.
Interesting Approach by .. Dobrin () Well, this is an interesting approach to losing weight! I just got the book last week so I am not sure what the long-term outcome will be. However, as for now I like the book and the idea of working on my subconscious. I believe that with a little practice of the principles laid out by the author you could learn to love yourself and that this could actually bring about good results. I also believe that the included CD can be really helpful. I listen to it each evening after going to bed, just before falling asleep. I know it for a fact that this self-hypnosis method has already been proven even by people trying to quit smoking.
Many of us know the basic principles of losing weight. However Paul McKenna shows his readers a way of doing that with no need for a big sacrifice that cause us to fail in the long run. It seems that Paul can indeed make you thin...
I am over 40 and controlling my weight has become more difficult in the last few years. I recognized long time ago that all the "wonder diets" that are based on willpower never work in the long run. The most helpful book so far in that respect was for me Your Body Maintenance Handbook. It helped me control my weight for the last few years. The author of the book, similar like Paul McKenna, concentrates on the many reasons that drive people to obesity. Both authors also suggest slow eating, chewing each bite well, and concentrating on the taste of food. Now, I am trying McKenna's approach and I am hopeful that it will improve my good grip on my weight. On the negative side I find "I Can Make You Thin" rather expensive considering the amount of information it contains. I think this book should not cost more than $10. For that reason I subtracted one star of the rating.
I don't eat emotionally anymore by .. Matt Mullin (New York, NY) When I saw Paul McKenna's TV show last year, I thought a lot of what he said made sense, but I never tried to apply any of his advice to my life. Since I bought and read the book last week, I've made it my mission to apply the golden rules to my eating habits. A lot of what he says is practical advice but he gives you brand new ways to change your approach to food.
The biggest change I've noticed so far is going out to eat. I went to dinner at a restaurant yesterday and I ate slowly and noticed when I felt full like Paul McKenna says. When I was full, I still had over half of my steak left. I got a doggie bag and had it for lunch today. I haven't had steak for lunch in years and it saved me a trip to the local deli for a sandwich.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who has tried and failed on other diets or anyone who can't always control what kinds of food they have for meals (like parents who eat what their kids eat). It's a quick read and he's got a great writing style. Highly recommended.
I love Paul! by .. elizabethp () My cousin in the UK was on this plan and lost 75 lbs! She couldn't stop raving about it. I could never find the book over here so I'm glad to see it finally came out! I bought it and started listening to the CD this morning. Wish me luck with my New Year's resolution!
