09 Guiness book 5 by .. Lorie Schneider ()
All of my kids love these books, we have every year. They read alot AND REMEMBER what they read which is good practice when they are first beginning to read.

Guinness World Records 5 by .. R. Kreager (North Idaho USA)
I purchased this book for my 13 year old Granddaughter and she was thrilled with it. Her Step-Father and younger Brother immedietly snatched it up and had their noses buried in it for hours.
I ordered it and it came within a week. The book itself is well presented in a hard cover, a nice looking book.

Ginness World Records 2009 5 by .. K. Terrell (Gainesville, FL USA)
I purchased this book for my 8yr. old son for Christmas. He spent hours Christmas day simply looking through the book and sharing some of the facts that he learned. I am a firm believer that reading enriches the mind and why not give them something to read that is knowledge based and interesting facts that he can tell his friends.

I would recommend this book to the young and old.

my 9 year old loved it 5 by .. Jodie Olson ()
My 9 year old daughter had an old 1999 paperback copy of a Guiness Book Of World Records. She read it all the time, so I thought this would be a great gift. I couldn't have been more right! The 3-D pictures are really cool. She carried that book around all day showing pictures to everyone. I think it was her favorite Christmas gift, even beating out the Wii game she got!
The only thing negative I can say is that it was hard to find the 3-D glasses (they are within the pages of the book) and they had to be put assembled (they are cardboard). It's not that big of a deal though.

Largest what? 4 by .. Philosopher Mom (SF Bay Area)
Kids love this book, no doubt about it. It's packed with all sorts weird facts, lots of photos - a far cry from the Guinness I knew as a kid.

Parents should know that there are some entries that are weird and/or gross - and a few that might be considered objectionable (e.g., Largest Augmented Breasts - pictured, mostly covered). By the time I flipped through the book, my son had already seen it in the school library. Oh, well...

my boys love this book! 5 by .. E. Collum (Leesburg, OH)
My boys are 9 and 10 and have been looking at "Record" books for the last few years. They were very excited to open this one up under the tree. Lots of colorful pictures and stats. A great book for kids that like to follow this type of stuff :-)

Our school library can't keep it on the shelf! 4 by .. E. Frame ()
Our elementary school library has over 11,000 books on its shelves, and I can't seem to keep this book on the shelf --- ever! I purchased two copies, and the students have already lined up to reserve their place for the book. It even has the "spillover effect" of making the earlier editions (2008, 2007, 2006, etc.) almost as popular!

I suppose I should buy one more copy!

From Machiavelli to Marx, Nietzsche to Hitler, this volume offers a provocative look at some of Western civilization's most infamous authors and their literary works and shows how these works have inflicted great evil in the world--and still cause suffering.

Be Informed! 5 by .. Larry D. Paarmann (Wichita, KS USA)
It used to be that the great books of western civilization were considered to be essential study for any liberal education. Probably most colleges and universities no longer have a list of great books, due in part to our lack of clarity these days as to just which books should be on such a list. About the only common university courses now are two in English and one on public speaking. Beyond that, two students graduating from the same university may have no subjects in common unless they happen to have the same major. This is unfortunate on several levels. For one, students pick up a great deal of knowledge, actually assumptions, sometimes referred to as common knowledge, from our culture that go uninvestigated, and therefore assumed without critical evaluation. As Benjamin Wiker points out, some of the "great" books are great due to influence, but are actually quite negative in the effects of that influence. That's the subject of this very provocative book. Wiker reviews 15 books that, in his opinion, screwed up the world; he considers them "great," but in a negative way. Of course, his selection of 15 books is very selective and subjective and many would disagree with his list, and probably many more would disagree with his analysis. You may be familiar with Wiker from his earlier book, Moral Darwinism: How We Became Hedonists, or from A Meaningful World: How the Arts And Sciences Reveal the Genius of Nature (coauthored with Jonathan Witt).

The book has an introduction, fifteen chapters, and an afterword. In the following list the chapter titles are book titles. For clarity, I have added in parentheses the author name and date of publication for those books. Many, perhaps all, of those books are available from Amazon but I did not insert product links in this list of contents since it is already perhaps too busy. Introduction: Ideas Have Consequences, Part I: Preliminary Screw-Ups, Chapter One, The Prince (Niccolò Machiavelli, 1513), Chapter Two, Discourse on Method (René Descartes, 1637), Chapter Three, Leviathan (Thomas Hobbes, 1651), Chapter Four, Discourse on the Origin and Foundations of Inequality among Men (Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 1755), Part II: Ten Big Screw-Ups, Chapter Five, The Manifesto of the Communist Party (Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, 1848), Chapter Six, Utilitarianism (John Stuart Mill, 1863), Chapter Seven, The Descent of Man (Charles Darwin, 1871), Chapter Eight, Beyond Good and Evil (Friedrich Nietzsche, 1886), Chapter Nine, The State and Revolution (Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, 1917), Chapter Ten, The Pivot of Civilization (Margaret Sanger, 1922), Chapter Eleven, Mein Kampf (Adolf Hitler, 1925), Chapter Twelve, The Future of an Illusion (Sigmund Freud, 1927), Chapter Thirteen, Coming of Age in Samoa (Margaret Mead, 1928), Chapter Fourteen, Sexual Behavior in the Human Male (Alfred Kinsey, 1948), Part III: Dishonorable Mention, Chapter Fifteen, The Feminine Mystique (Betty Friedan, 1963), Afterword: A Conclusive Outline of Sanity.

The topics covered in Wiker's 15 books include politics, philosophy, ethics, psychology, evolution, human sexuality, religion, and sociology. Wiker's approach is to show how these books are interrelated and build upon one another. One of the themes is that most of the authors were openly and self-proclaimed atheists (Hobbes, Rousseau, Marx, Engels, Mill, Nietzsche, Lenin, Sanger, Freud, Kinsey, Friedan). Others among the authors covered were probably atheists but perhaps not openly (Machiavelli (he was, well, Machiavellian), Darwin (questionable, but apparently), Hitler (Machiavellian), Mead). The remaining author was religious, but denied certain important Christian doctrines such as the reality of sin (Descartes). According to Wiker, all of the authors reviewed deny sin. In the concluding chapter, Wiker writes "By following the trajectory of these books that screwed up the world, we can wonder whether the advance of `science' over theology is an unmitigated good, and whether it is really progress. Perhaps it is bringing us to a new age of technological barbarism, wherein humanity becomes ever more religiously obsessed with health and sexual pleasure as pseudo-gods, sacrificing anything and everything to these twin deities. . . . If the books we've covered offer an image of insanity, then perhaps by reversing the image and holding it up to a different light we can recover some outline of sanity. Perhaps we are not merely animals as Darwin would have it, but something more than animals. Perhaps we are not ghosts in machines, as Descartes would have it, but some other strange and glorious creature, something godlike but with two feet on the ground. Yet, being something godlike, we are not, as Nietzsche would have it, gods ourselves, but something far less, a faint but glowing resemblance to Someone else infinitely more resplendent." No one can deny the power and influence of these books. What is a bit of a mystery, however, is how these books become so influential in the Christian West. Why has the Christian voice been so muted? There has been a significant Christian response to atheistic evolution. But what this book clearly points out and elaborates on is that atheistic evolution is only one secular theory that tends to undermine Christianity, and a number of these books were published prior to Darwin's well-known publications. Perhaps now, in recent years, the Christian community has regained its commitment, which it clearly had in the first few centuries of the Christian era, to challenge the erroneous ideas of the surrounding culture. To that end, this book is highly recommended.

In other words - the world's just bad 1 by .. R. L. Huff (Louisiana)
The author trashes all of human thought and history since the Renaissance, and reveals his longing to return to some medieval cocoon. Fine for him, and he ought to throw out all the technology developed since and remove to his cave without plumbing, electricity, or three-piece suits.

His premise is that these books have "screwed up" the natural order of things and apparently we can return to this pristine genesis by what - burning them? He doesn't say so, but break out the monk's cowls and holy smoke just in case. Actually, these "natural orders" are always self-serving for their promoters, and Mr. Wiker's is no different.

The Christian faith on which his premises are based is built upon the distinction between the "natural carnal world" and divine revelation, so we can obviously add the Christian Bible and specifically the New Testament to the list of books that screw up the natural order. In fact, more evil-doing has been done in the name of Holy Scripture than the other fifteen books combined.

Another intellectual pretender with feet of clay on a pedestal of sand. *YAWN*

Wiker has a mind like a steel trap. But 1 by .. noman (Seattle, WA)
the poor little mouse got away.

Before you read this book I suggest reading:
1. Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me): Why We Justify Foolish Beliefs, Bad Decisions, and Hurtful Acts by Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson
2. The Logic Of Failure: Recognizing And Avoiding Error In Complex Situations by Dietrich Dorner
It also wouldn't hurt to read, or at least skim the actual books referenced in this work by Wiker before encountering his "unique" outlook on the world. A few comments on the books referenced by the author:

Chapter One: Some have suggested that "The Prince" by Niccolo Machiavelli was a satire. I disagree, believing that it was more of a resume. Niccolo was job hunting at the time and working for a Prince in 1513 Florence was not a job for the faint hearted. Unfortunately for him, Princes in Italy during the 1500 were all "Home Schooled" in despotism, murder, rape and pillage and (alas) his book remained unread and he unemployed for the most part.

Chapter Ten: The Pivot of Civilization by Margaret Sanger. Birth control, eugenics and euthanasia. Eugenics has been around for thousands of years (long before Darwin or Sanger) in the idea of marrying within a certain class or "exposure" for infants and the elderly or unfit (which could also be considered a form of euthanasia). Seems a bit disingenuous to put all the blame on Sanger.

As far as I can tell this polemic concerns, broadly, two topics. God and S*x. Wiker is for the first and against the second. Or rather, he appears fearful that these "10 Books" are responsible for turning people against his personal view of God or toward a view of s*x that he doesnt approve of. By s*x I mean not simply the physical act but also gender identity, women's rights, gay rights and the rights of individuals to believe other than as the author believes. Parenthetically, if he's shocked by Kinsey (Sexual Behavior in the Human Male) Mead (Coming of age in Somoa) and Friedan (The Feminine Mystique) I hope he never finds a nine or ten year old child to reset the parental controls on his internet browser.

These books did not change the world. They were simply expressions of change that was occurring or had already occurred.

Review of book: Ten books that screwed up the world. 5 by .. Charles J. Rooney (Montclair, New Jerwey)
This books should be read by anyone interested in how bad ideas become part of the popular culture. It clearly points out how these "icons" of intellectual history have left us a heritage of muddled and even perverse thinking, and not suprisingly, these authors which range from the late Middle Ages to now are still popular, and their thinking, which has taken on modern forms, is still very dangerous. Well presented by a long-time teacher of the Great Books. C.J.Rooney

Bravo, Dr. Wiker! Bravo! 5 by .. Russell T. Warne ()
Pop quiz: What do Margaret Mead, John Stuart Mill, Marx & Engels, and Alfred Kinsey have in common? All of them wrote hugely successful books that were/are taken as gospel fact but actually had all the reality of a fairy tale. Wiker's "10 Books that Screwed up the World" shows how these authors and others had overactive imaginations that reached the limits of sanity--and took civilization with them.

I read this book after I being thoroughly impressed by Wiker's "Moral Darwinism." And I was not disappointed. Both books trace modern secularism from its origins to its widespread acceptance today. "10 Books..." is probably more readable, with chapters that can be easily finished in one sitting.

Moreover, Wiker's prose is very engaging and every chapter has a handful of zingers aimed at movements as diverse as communism, animal rights, and radical feminism. Wiker has created a book that isn't just intelligent, but also fun to read.

We can't put the genie back into the bottle. "Mein Kampf," "The Communist Manifesto," "The Pivot of Civilization," and other crimes against logic have already done their damage and they can't be un-written. Wiker knows that the best option available is to confront these books and shine the harsh light of logic on their ideas so that we aren't taken in (as millions have been previously).

Good but not as good as the book 4 by .. Amy W. Reisdorf (Minneapolis, MN USA)
This workbook is helpful and helps generate creative teaching ideas. However, I didn't find it as helpful as the actual history book itself. Good for people who needs ideas on how to make history fun and fresh for little kids.

Great! 5 by .. Mandy (Minnesota)
I am a home school mom of elementary aged children and this book is great. I do suggest you get the book that goes with it or you will be a little lost. This set together has been a wonderful asset to our school experience. It is an easy approach to teaching more than one age. Everyone is enjoying it - even me! There are maps that go along with each lesson which really give the kids a picture of where things took place, fun coloring pages and some word puzzles. The projects that go with each lesson have also been helpful. I find that there is enough info to choose from that I can easily pick what will work for us that lesson and leave out what won't and things still come together well. The kids are picking up tons of information and even more importantly, this book paints the big picture of ancient times and my kids are loving it!

A must-have companion 5 by .. avid reader ()
This is a must-have for going through the Story of the World series. My favorite part is the "continued reading" recommendations. I'd suggest not trying to do all the activities. We started out that way and it was taking forever.

I do have her do the map exercises for every chapter and try to read at least one of the recommended books (often a fairy tale/myth/legend picture book about that time/culture). When she's very interested in a chapter, we'll spend more time and do a project or two and read more of the books.

Great Resource!! 5 by .. Susan Kuhner (AZ)
This book series is the perfect balance between a scripted, rigid history program and a completely unstructured approach to teaching history. I use it in a homeschooling history coop group with 6 girls, age 5-8. We have a great time. I use the study questions, we fill out the map, and then we do a craft. We enjoyed forming the Nile river with dirt and rocks, building an "ancient home" structure in the back yard, and creating hieroglyphics in clay. I like a lot of the books she recommends as supplements. We use the coloring pictures to add to our timeline we are creating that encircles our homeschooling room.
The coloring pictures are simple, but I think thats better for boys who sometimes are not into detailed coloring. I purchased some extra coloring books for my daughter who loves to color.
Finally, I am a devoted Christian who appreciates the flexibilty to add biblical content as I see fit.

Captivating 5 by .. Lindsey (Northwest)
We have tried several hs history curricula and this is the first one that has captivated my children. I would highly recommend this!

Product Description

As cultures and languages disappear from the Earth at a shocking rate, it becomes all the more urgent for us to know and value the world’s many ethnic identities. National Geographic’s Book of Peoples of the World propels that important quest with concern, authority, and respect. Created by a team of experts, this hands-on resource offers thorough coverage of more than 200 ethnic groups—some as obscure as the Kallawaya of the Peruvian Andes, numbering fewer than 1,000; others as widespread as the Bengalis of India, 172 million strong. We’re swept along on a global tour of beliefs, traditions, and challenges, observing the remarkable diversity of human ways as well as the shared experiences. Spectacular photographs reveal how people define themselves and their worlds. Specially commissioned maps show how human beings have developed culture in response to environment. Thought-provoking text examines not only the societies and the regions that produced them, but also the notion of ethnicity itself—its immense impact on history, the effects of immigration on cultural identity, and the threats facing many groups today. Threading through the story are the extraordinary findings of the National Geographic Society’s Genographic Project—a research initiative to catalog DNA from people around the world, decoding the great map of human migration embedded in our own genetic makeup.

At once a comprehensive reference, an appreciation of diversity, and a thoughtful look at our instinct to belong, this uplifting book explores what it means to be human and alive.

Great Book for Beginers and Avid Runners 5 by .. Noelle Cuomo (Long Island, NY USA)
Well written book on all the aspects of running. I highly recommend it for people just starting out or seasoned runners.

Good info for beginners, but design a bit whimsical & content could use improvement 3 by .. J. McLaughlin (Phoenix, Arizona, USA)
As other reviewers have stated, this is a good book for beginning runners. The tone is positive--in the introduction, the author states that she wants to be your cheerleader--and presents a "you can do it!" attitude throughout. One of the book's strengths is its emphasis on starting out gradually if you're a beginning runner. The author is well aware of the pitfalls of beginning runners, one of which is getting discouraged and ultimately abandoning running because of unrealistic expectations. She presents a clear running program that just about anyone should be able to start with. Inspirational stories--including a now-dated piece about Oprah's first marathon--support the idea that pretty much anyone can train to run competitively (or just for fun). Well, at least if they're millionaires who can train for a total of four hours a day.

Also included are the obligatory diet recommendations, including a curious plug for vegetarianism. This is where I think the book starts to lose its focus. I realize that many people reading about running are likely looking to lose weight and incorporate vigorous exercise into a healthier lifestyle, but how many times--and in how many publications--must we read about carbs and fats? We get a brief intro to healthy eating, and then the book jumps into diet choices of runners. The organization of the book suggests that you'll go from novice runner to carbo-loading marathoner in a matter of pages.

I think that the injury section, perhaps incorporated into a larger chapter about running and its effects on various body systems and health generally, could be expanded. How to best deal with shin splints, which affect nearly all beginning runners at some point and to some degree, is barely touched on. Compartment syndrome (which is uncommon, grated) isn't mentioned at all. I think that more could be said about strength training as a complement to running, as well as detailed information about effective stretching and cool-down techniques.

Major content gripe: An entire section in the Women's Running chapter (which constitutes about a quarter of the book, so male readers may want to keep this in mind!) is devoted to avoiding the various ways that you can become a crime victim if you're not careful. It's a tired rehashing of all the "safety and security" stuff that women are exposed to on a regular basis, usually in women's magazines or on freak-out local news reports. A cop's contribution to this section details how to avoid getting pulled into a car and ultimately murdered (his solution: don't get near the car). I'm not advocating a head-in-the-sand approach; any solo runner should be alert, particularly when running in an isolated area. But jeez, do we really need a whole section to remind us to run in well-lit, populated areas? The number of pages given to this subject suggests that you're more likely than not to be the victim of a bad-intentioned male at some point during your runs.

My main problem with the book is its format. It is heavy (literally), with a glossy format consisting of giant margins, big text, and dozens of pointless photos. I understand that the book is attempting to be true to its roots: it is published by Runner's World, after all, and its page design is similar to a magazine. But it's a book and should look like a book. Even though it's paperback, it's printed on heavy stock paper and isn't the type of book you'd toss into a beach or vacation bag. And the vast majority of pictures are completely unnecessary. Page after page of very fit people in 1990s running garb (it appears that the images weren't updated for the 2004 edition) are meant to be inspiring but get really old after the first chapter: three young chicks running on a track, a fit middle-aged guy energetically moving along in front of a sunset backdrop, a forty-something gal lacing up in a park. Most of us know what fit runners look like. Do we need to see full-color photos of them on every other page? In the nutrition section, literally half a page is taken up with the image of a banana and something that looks like oats. In the footwear section, we see generic pictures of white leather running shoes with the laces undone. Zzzz....

I realize that this review is a big negative, so you may be wondering why I've given the book three stars. There is a lot of good information for people new to running, and indeed fitness and nutrition. But I'm glad that I got this book out of the library--I'd be annoyed if I paid good money for this. The Complete Book of Running for Women by Claire Kowalchik, and the old standy, Jim Fixx's The Complete Book of Running, are better choices in my estimation.

Paperback, Complete book of running 5 by .. Paul Kato (Rochester, New York)
Nice update to the hard copy version from several years ago. Well worth the $$

excellent book 5 by .. Matt Garza ()
I'm training for my first half marathon and I picked this book up at the library. It's simple, easy to read and has excellent advice. It's easy to criticize books that are reader friendly--too many pictures and graphics, not much text per page. I find, though, that books like that are easier to pick up and read and keep reading. I recommend this book to everyone serious about running.

Very comprehensive and useful 5 by .. Ariel G. Scafuri (Fortaleza, Brasil)
This is a very complete book that summarizes many aspects of running for beginners and intermediate runners. It is very well edited and is full of nice pictures which makes it a very pleasant reading experience. I only found it a little repetitive in the chapter about psychological aspects of running and a little bit shallow regarding the last chapter on marathon training. Overall, it is worth reading and buying. It should not be used as a reference book, but as a motivational tool to start, keep or improve your running experience.

A Family Treasure 5 by .. Sally (Pembroke Pines, FL)
This pop-up book takes my breath away! It is not for children but rather is to be used as a family keepsake, to be passed down from generation to generation. This is a collector's gift, a work of art. Each two-page spread tells the history and traditions of Christmas from around the world. There are hidden surprises like pullouts and mini booklets that are filled with information.

The reader learns about Father Christmas, Boxing Day, and plum pudding in England, along with some authentic Victorian illustrations. The first nativity scene, presecio, or creche came from Italy, along with La Bafana, the Christmas Witch. From Germany came the Advent Calendar, the legend of Tannenbaum or Christmas tree, and Saint Nicholas. From France comes reveillon, a feast--late-night after midnight mass, Pere Noel, and pictures of the City of Lights, Paris, at Christmas. From Russia came the real Saint Nicholas and Baboushka. We learn that Scandinavia is where the Festival of Light continues. The decorations and the history of Santa are found in the pages about North America. Included in the back of the book is a box that pulls out and contains a Santa and sleigh that can pop together and be used as a stand-alone decoration!

A fantastic book to own or to give!

Christmas Customs 5 by .. M. Blatt (California and Idaho)
Colorful artwork, complex pop-ups, additional gatefolds that expand the pages, and full descriptions of Christmas customs around the world all combine to form an enjoyable experience. Chuck Fischer has created a beautiful addition to the shelf of Christmas books.

Christmas Around the World 4 by .. Selynn @ the Lake ()
This is a delightful book that entertains the young and young-at-heart with its educational information. The paintings are beautiful. Each page has it immediate surprises and more that are to be discovered whether by pulling, unfolding or finding flaps to open! It is the best pop-up book that refolds neatly each and every time! It's an heirloom to treasure and hand down to the next generation.
Chuck's NEWEST BOOK, IN THE BEGINNING, GENESIS IS AWESOME! I just got to view it today in its finished format. It is a feast for the eyes and soul! Another MUST_HAVE!

Pop-Up Christmas Book - multi featured 5 by .. Diane Dickson (Blue Springs, MO USA)
Although this book is not inexpensive, Amazon had the best price by far! I saw it in a brick and mortor store and really loved both the overall design and the many little extras. Besides a stand-up in each page spread, there are little "books" on one or both sides that give more detailed info on that country. There are a couple of "sliders" and a small tray that holds a pop-up sleigh (not attached to the book).

This is not really a child's book - except when fully supervised by an adult. Kids will enjoy the pictures but not fully understand all the details given about each country.

It would make a great family tradition to look and read during the Christmas season.

My only disappointment is that more countries(and pages)were not included.

It is high quality paper and worth the half-off the listing price that Amazon offers.

Beautiful book, but it contains a REALLY disturbing image of a hanging child. 3 by .. D. Fuentes ()
"Christmas Around the World" is undoubtedly a gorgeous pop-up book which also provides detailed and interesting insight about Christmas customs around the world. Despite the (mostly) beautiful images and information, I can only give the book two or three stars because of a really disturbing image in the Germany section of the book. The author devotes a section to Krampus, Santa's evil helper, who, according to German legend, punishes children for their naughty ways. Although the essay about the legend is entertaining, underneath an image of a beatific Santa surrounded by children, the author included a truly frightening depiction of Krampus, complete with a silhouette of a child hanging by the neck from his pitchfork, dripping blood. My five year old (try keeping her hands off a pop-up book), isn't scared by Krampus himself and isn't really old enough to understand that the picture shows a dead child, but still, the inclusion of the image seems unnecessary to me, and is entirely inconsistent with the rest of the images in the book. I would suggest buyers take a look at the book first before purchasing to decide whether the picture might disturb the buyer or the recipient, if the book is a gift. Notwithstanding the lush design and beautiful artwork of the vast majority of the book, it probably will always be known in our house as the "scary Krampus book."

Great WWII history for children 4 by .. James M.A. Kalin (California, USA)
This is a great book for children who know only what they've heard in schools or in passing by their grandparents.

For adults or older children, I recommend WALKING THROUGH FIRE: AN IWO JIMA SURVIVOR'S REMEMBRANCE which is a first-person account by a WWII veteran who was not only Iwo Jima but also elsewhere in the Pacific. A great history lesson from one who was there, and a good adult companion for this book.Walking Through Fire, An Iwo Jima Survivor's Remembrance

good book 5 by .. C. Castillo (MO)
purchased for 11 year old son, he likes it very much. great pics and information

good book 5 by .. Barbara Jackson (Miller Place, NY)
Very informative book that I'm giving to my grandson for his 10th birthday. It is chock full of pictures and the sequence of events is well done. My grandson is a WWII buff so he'll be delighted with this book.

Great Intro to WWII for Kids! 5 by .. ()
Another good book in the Eyewitness Series. This book does a good job of condensing the vast amount of information available on WWII and, as usual, the pictures tell the story in an interesting way for children. We collect Eyewitness Books and my kids were so glad to see this book and the others on WWI, the Civil War and the American Revolution.
