Customer reviews Not for younger children by .. R. Goodman (St. Petersburg, FL) I bought this autograph/"sticker" book for my young grandchildren (4 & 6). The pages are GRAY. It was described as a "sticker" book, but there are no stickers - just squares designated for stickers. A real disappointment.
hard for the characters to sign by .. C. King (Chesapeake Beach, MD United States) I bought 2 of these books for my sons for our trip to WDW last Feb. I loved the layout - I like having one page for autographs and the other for pictures. I also liked that we could write in where we saw the character at and any special notes. We saw Mickey several times and were able to write in where we were for each autograph. We could also add in special memories like "John's 1st birthday dinner" or "Ryan and Dale played peek-a-boo with John". I also like that it was spiral bound so it was easy to flip to the next page without having to hold the book open.
What I didn't like is the book has a soft cover, which means no support for the characters. Most of the time the characters are holding the book while they sign. They don't usually have a hard surface to lean on. this made it very difficult for some characters to sign. I'd give it 5 stars if it had a hard cover and maybe a little more kid friendly design (character pics on the cover and pages, etc.)
satisfied customer by .. Evelyn B. Lesko () my granddaughter likes her autograph&sticker book. she can't wait till she get's autograph signed in her book. We are going to Disney World in June.
Nice Layout but Flimsy by .. Rachel Pearce Dicharry (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) After searching online for a good autograph book I ordered a "Guide to the Magic WDW Autograph and Sticker Book" for each of my children to take on our upcoming Disney World vacation. I love what this book has to offer; plenty of autograph tips and space for pictures, stickers, passport stamps as well as autographs! However I can promise you these flimsy newspaper thin pages will find it hard to stand up to the wear and tear any child creates, much less a week tumbling around in a backpack at WDW. I wish the publisher had used the $28 I paid to make an autograph book that would be a LASTING treasure.
Best to Wait until you get to Disney by .. Angela Spatharakis () Autograph book served its purpose but once we got to Disney there was much nicer autograph books for the same price. This book was very boring and the ones sold there were colorful, and had a character on the cover that the kids would of prefered.

Customer reviews FOR GIRLS ONLY - HETEROSEXUAL MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS ONLY! by .. Diversity Lover (Midwest USA) This book is written EXCLUSIVELY for Heterosexual Middle School Girls ONLY! And should be advertised as such. Silly me - who thought that autograph books could be used and enjoyed by BOTH boys and girls and by EITHER gender REGARDLESS of their sexual orientation. I know for a fact that a girl and a boy can be best friends, and that boys and girls can get "crushes" on BOTH boys AND girls. BUT IN THIS BOOK... all references and pictures of "best friends" are of two girls, and all references to crushes and future marriage are to a guy. A two-page spread of stickers in the center of the book include ones that say: "Girls only", "Girls rule", "No Boys" (in a circle with a diagonal line through it), and "He's mine" and "I Love this guy!" (but none that say "She's mine" or "I Love this girl!").

Product Description Murder's Bold Inscription "Whoever had broken into the shop might just have gone upstairs afterwards, might just be there still...My first reaction was anger: I wanted to roar up the stairs, only I could hear Barnabas saying, the way he used to when I was little: "Temper, Dido! Count to twenty-nine..." Selling rare books has its moments, but few are anything close to thrilling--except when Dido Hoare's scoundrel of an ex-husband suddenly reappears and puts a pulse of excitement in the air.But events go from interesting to intense when someone ends up murdered and the culprit seems to think Dido has something worth killing for, too. With the help of her father, Barnabas, a retired academic with a penchant for mysteries, Dido may be able to divert the killer long enough to figure out who wants her dead and why. Recovering from a heart attack, the irrepressible Barnabas is taking chances that are likely to give Dido a coronary of her own, and give the police a bad case of indigestion. But as Dido and Barnabas are about to learn, every crime has its victims and its payoffs--it's just a matter of being on the right side of the bookshelf before everything comes tumbling down. Customer reviews A splendid debut . . . by .. kellytwo (cleveland hts, ohio) Have you made the acquaintance of Dido Hoare? If not, I highly recommend you do so straightaway. You won't regret it. Dido is a modern young woman, newly divorced, daughter of a former academic at Oxford (who seems to have had other assorted former careers, as well) who now owns an antiquarian bookshop in London's Islington area. Coming home late at night after having purchased a privately-owned library some eighty miles from her home, she is menaced by a white car. Eventually, however, the other driver loses interest, and Dido arrives home, nerve-wracked but otherwise unharmed. The next day, her father, Barnabas, recovering from serious heart surgery, receives an anonymous letter, and from then on, the pace never lets up. We meet several of London's other antiquarian book dealers, plus Dido's former husband Davey. Briefly, that is, for in just a few days time, Davey and the white car fall victim to a bomb. The police officer assigned to the bombing, Paul Grant, bids fair to becoming an important part of Dido's life, if only she can figure out why Davey had to die. What does she have that she doesn't realize she has? Neither Davey's new friend, Ilona, nor his mother, Sally, are much help either. One clue is a book about a possible forger. Or has the forger been forged? This is a wonderfully well-written book that works on several levels. I cannot recommend it highly enough to those who enjoy truly intelligent books. How can you not love a book that includes this line "She continued to watch her drink as closely as though she were waiting for it to change colour and play the National Anthem." You won't regret the acquaintance, I promise.
Death's Autograph by .. tregatt (Portland, Oregon) This first Dido Hoare mystery is the most complex of the four so far; but just as interesting and intriguing. This novel starts when a mysterious white car follows Dido on her way back home from a book buying trip, late at night through the deserted M40 highway. Soon after Barnabas, her father, receives a mysterious postcard alluding to the incident. Next, Dido's ne'er-do-well ex-husband, Davy, turns up and tries to persuade her that she needs his help to maintain the bookstore. Then her store is burglarised. Barnabas is sure that Davy is somehow responsible for all these events but Dido refuses to consider that possibility. And then Davy's car is blown up with him in it. The police seemed stumped and cannot quite see the connection between all these events. However Dido comes to the reluctant conclusion that Davy was involved in some way. But how? And what can all this possibly mean? This book is intriguing and complex and I think that if you have the patience to follow all twists and turns of the plot you will be more than amply rewarded. An amazing first installment of an equally amazing series.
A good read. by .. Annette J. Procter (Bennington, VT) Maranne MacDonald's Dido and her father are terrific characters, and the reader is happy to follow them anyplace. Especially back to Dido's really interesting antiquarian bookstore. The crimes could be more tightly developed, but MM is finding her way and you can only wish her luck. Might as well come along for the ride; the authors' characters are so good.
Excellent mystery! by .. Maria Y. Lima (Alexandria, VA United States) A truly enjoyable peek into the world of antiquarian bookselling with the added extra of murder. Dido & her dad are great characters and I look forward to reading the entire series!
Outstanding by .. () Well written mystery that will appeal to all mystery fans, especially those who are book collectors.

Product Description Jansje's story, told from her viewpoint, starts in the Netherlands, where she has lived a very sheltered life with her parents. When her father decides to immigrate to the United States, everything changes. Before she leaves she gathers verses from her friends in an autograph book her mother gives her as a gift. A grueling steamship crossing of the Atlantic and an equally exhausting train ride bring her to Holland, Nebraska where most everyone speaks Dutch. For a shy, 27 year old spinster meeting new people, making an enemy and being forced to work outside her home are difficult challenges, but they prepare her for even geater obstacles ahead. Yet as she grow as a person she experiences the happiness of falling in love, enjoying her children and a sense of belonging in her community. Through all her years "The Autograph Book" sustains her and comforts her. Woven into the story are historical events that affect her and her family. Traditional Dutch recipes will make your mouth water. "The Autograph Book" is an emotional roller coaster ride and would especailly appeal to women who love romance but don't want a "bodice ripper." Jansje, an ordinary woman, will become your "unlikely heroine." Customer reviews Delightful by .. Molly Kozera (Salem, OR United States) Couldn't put it down.
It is just so INTERESTING!
Despite the serious generation gap, I felt a real kinship to Jansje, our heroine. Some of the obstacles she overcame you'd think insurmountable! Horrifying conditions on her trip to America, hailstorms and tornados, ruined crops and the mother-in-law from Hell all invading the happiness and contentment she finally found.
I admit I cried more than once.
There is plenty to learn from Jansje...Oh and let's not forget all the cooking that makes me feel so inspired to run into the kitchen and make bread and sweet rolls!
Not just for women by .. Thomas F. Kraemer (Willamina, OR) Scarborough rights with feeling and a warmth that is palpable. It was true in her first book and remains true in her latest offering. The reader will get an amazing sense of being there. Although presented as a must read for women it will be appreciated by men as well, especially those who themselves have a wife with the sensitivity and character of Jansje.
By the way my wife wanted to see the recipes for some of that great sounding food.
A Great Inspiring Book by .. Heather Shockney (Greensboro, PA USA) The Autograph Book is a must read for all women. Jansje is such a remarkable character, everyone who reads the book will fall in love with her. Jansje thinks she is an old maid since she is 27 and not married. Little did she know that she would someday become a wife and mother to six children.
You will follow Jansje through out her life. There are times of sadness, and times of joy. Through each Jansje holds true to herself and overcomes any obstacles she is dealt with. I can't recommend this book enough.
A definate page-turner by .. C. Eversole () The Autograph Book is an amazing story following a young woman through her travels across the world. The life of Jansje, the main character, is depicted here in this story taking her from her home, watching her grow and over come the obstacles that make her become the woman she ends up being with a loving family and full life.
This is a book that I found very difficult to put down. Before long I'd realized I'd read almost the whole thing, so I just kept reading it. I wanted to know what was next for Jansje. She went through ups and downs in her life and when times were difficult for her, I found myself wanting to read more to see how she'd over come each challenge.
The Autograph Book is a great piece to pick up and read. It's perfect for women of all ages and is one that really lets the reader identify with the character at various levels. It's just a really well put together book and I am so glad I decided to read it.
Must Read! by .. Susann P. Fallon () A great book to get lost in. This is a beautifully written, epic but personal tale of a young girl's immigration journey to America. The author skillfully weaves an amazing and poignant story of family, friendship, community, and love in a small but growing Nebraska frontier town. Compelling plot line without any of the familiar, overused, clichéd "coming to America" depictions often found in historical novels. All scenes are fresh, unique, and riveting. Characters and dialogues are well-developed, multifaceted, and authentic which leads to the building of a personal and deep relationship with the reader. This is the story of your family, of your ancestors. Panoramic in scope, but very personal in the telling. The author is a wonderful storyteller. I could not put the book down. It was spellbinding, heartfelt, and sincere. A true gem from a relatively new writer with a well-researched, shimmering vision. I loved it and am eagerly awaiting the next two books in the trilogy.

Product Description There are 365 good days every year to collect autographs from your friends, family, classmates, total strangers and all those rich and famous celebrities you know. Customer reviews Creative starters to inspire hesitant autograph-givers, great for children by .. Gail Doktor (New England) If you want a blank autograph book, then read the description of this book and you'll immediately realize it isn't what you need. The reviewer who gave this book one star clearly didn't read the description of the product.
On the other hand, if you want a playful spiral-bound autograph book that will help start conversations and inspire people to browse through the book, picking a page that somehow expresses their personality or preferences, and then prompts them to sign a message where they feel most comfortable, this book is for you. It will immediately engage your child or young adult and anyone (kids or grownups) with whom they share it. It isn't branded with any specific characters (Disney, Nick Jr, PBS) which makes it appropriate for a wider range of users, too. Including adults with a whimsical sense of humor.
Our child has been a cancer patient for 6 years, and offered this book to visitors, volunteers and all sorts of medical professionals. Often, it slowed down the pace of urgency and reminded people that she's a whole person, and let her learn something unique about her caregivers, too, based on their choice of which page to sign. It was often an icebreaker when she was nervous...she could offer the autograph book in new settings and it helped to prompt conversations. People genuinely got caught up in the graphics and the goofy writing prompts and signature ideas, and forgot just why they were in her company...it took us out of an acute medical setting into a playful and escapist frame of mind.
Her collection of autographs is a treasure, and this book's clever design elicited many of the creative entries that people offered.
It's not blank. It's the opposite. But just like the title says...you take it anywhere, anyplace, anytime and offer it to anyone, and walk away with a great signature.
My Anytime, Anywhere, Autograph Book by .. Deborah A. Brannan (St. Paul, MN) I was very disappointed with this book. I was simply looking for an autograph book that has blank pages, and this does not. I was very surprised when it arrived on my door. Each page is wild, and full of drawings, and it was nothing what I expected. I wanted grandparents and teachers, etc. to be able to sign the book for my child, and this certainly isn't an appropriate book for that. I don't believe that we will be able to use it. It WOULD, however, be appropriate for school age kids, who were using it for only kid signatures. But, that was not our intention.

Customer reviews Excellent by .. () An excellent book A treasure of Hawthorne A must have for any library
My personal desert island book. by .. () If Library of America had never published another book, this one alone would have justified their existence and earned them the gratitude of readers everywhere. Nearly 1,500 pages of what is arguably the best prose ever published by an Ameican writer. I am sappy enough to enjoy Hawthorne the most in old editions, the older the better. But the stories are the same, no matter whether you're reading them in a dusty 19th century edition of _Mosses from an Old Manse_ or in this state-of-the-art omnibus edition, which includes all of Hawthorne's tales and sketches arranged chronologically, with brief bibliographic and biographic essays and a few explanatory notes. Take it on vacation with you some summer and experience it for yourself.
All or Nothing at All by .. Atar Hadari (London United Kingdom) This is the best selection to buy of Hawthorne's short stories because it is NOT a selection, it is complete and, if you believe the editor, it's actually more accurate in its assessment of what is and is not a Hawthorne story than some complete collections because he did not include here some stories that his co-editors on the Hawthorne Centenary Edition did want to include. (Hawthorne spent much of his career as an underpaid and unsung magazine writer and some of his work went with no byline and without reprinting at his own choice, so what he wrote is no easy matter to decide.) The stories are, you probably know if you're looking up this book, stark and wonderful. But some of them are also twee and a little fanciful and not so wonderful. That too is instructive. One very useful thing about this volume is that it includes a listing of when each story first saw print in magazine form and when in book form. In that way the reader can chart Hawthorne's development as a magazine writer and a professional which in every possible sense of the word he determined to become and despite some difficult odds finally was. Some of the most beautiful and terrifying stories in the language and a beautiful object to hold in your hand. Expensive, but if you can get it - this is the one to buy.
The Authoritative Hawthorne Collection by .. () The only complaint I have about this book it its paper, which is "bible thin." The tales and sketches from all of Hawthorne's collections are included here, along with 16 previously uncollected stories.
If you've read any of Hawthorne's more popularly anthologized tales, you will be amazed at the eloquence and quality of these lesser known jems.

Angela (United States) I am really enjoying this book - it's a lot of fun to have the chance to write to my favorite sports personalities. It's nicely organized in alphabetical order and makes for an interesting guide. Nicely done!
Love This Book! by .. () I purchased this book as a beginning collector of sports autographs. In no time, I received signed photos from Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr., Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon, Joe Montana, Wayne Gretzky and Muhammad Ali. I'm still sending out a lot of requests and look forward to going to the mailbox every day! I'm really happy with the results of this book and would much rather have this guide to refer to as opposed to spending hours upon hours trying to piece this much information together myself. I think the author did a fantastic job and should be recognized for her hard work. Looking forward to future projects from this talented young lady!
A Useless Guide by .. Scott L. Linden (Plainview, N.Y. United States) I bought the Sports Address book for my 14 year old son for the Holidays, and we were both greatly disppointed! I could have authored this book! 99% of the addresses are in care of teams, or in care of organizations! Anyone can find the address of a team! It must have taken this author less than 2 days to write this book! The title is deceiving! It should be titled, Sports Autographs-Care of Teams! We are trying to find a way to return this book!It was a waste of over thirty dollars. It was an insult to the true autograph collector! The author, if she had any decency, should buy this book back from us, and give it to a member of her family, as a Holiday present!
Not worth the cost by .. Todd Tucker (South Burlington, Vermont USA) All of the addresses are C/O a team or Association. You could spend 10 minutes online and get all of the addresses in this book. Very dissapointed!
Great Gift! by .. () I purchased this book as a gift for a member of my family who primarily collects sports autographs. After receiving it, I looked through the pages and found that there are listings for so many favorites! We are really big racing fans and I was pleased to see so many addresses for drivers - this book will make a great gift for my cousin!
