Janalynn Siepert (Pompano Beach, Fl) I bought a Kindle for my mother for Christmas and decided to get her this book to help her learn how to use it. It helps that she has a book to read and explain how to use the Kindle, instead of reading on the machine itself and not knowing what you are doing. By having the book she can experiment and learn all the keys and have a refernce on hand that she can always refer back to.
This book has a wealth of information and is a great addition to the Kindle itsefl. I would espcially recommend it for someone who is not completely comfortable with using comptuers.
This book is a MUST have!!! by .. Donald P. OBrien (Littlestown, PA USA) Without this book, the Kindle is just an eReader. With it, it is an essential part of my traveling kit - whether on vacation or just to get gas. I had no idea how innovative and indispensible the Kindle is until I read the book. A definite must have. I think it should be made an integral part of any Kindle purchase.
A must for first time Kindle owners by .. NG (Irving, TX) This guide is so well written. It is easy to understand and has so much more information in it than the guide that comes with the Kindle. I have learned so many more things about my Kindle and feel very comfortable with it now, even though I am not a techie at all! Great links, tips, info... this is a must have.
Makes me feel so smart by .. Fran (Martinsburg, WV United States) I downloaded this document the day after receiving my Kindle and read it cover to cover on the Kindle within a day. I took breaks only to let my brain absorb all that it imparted. I have found a lot of tips and shortcuts that I didn't know were available on the Kindle even after having read the complete owner's manual that was loaded on the device. For example, did you know that you can find out what time it is with a couple of keystrokes on the Kindle? It is a "must read" for anyone who owns or is thinking about owning a Kindle. Thanks Stephen for all the information included in the book.
Worth owning one. by .. Mary Wente (Palatine, IL USA)

I am a reader. I truly enjoy having the kindle. It is easy to carry and bring with you and read it anywhere. I have three books on it at present. Carry one item and not 3 books. If you are a reader, definitely check into a kindle.

Product Description A humorous and information filled account of one man's experiences with the flora, fauna and native culture of the upper Amazon region in Peru. Customer reviews 10 Stars-This is the Real Deal by .. Steve Moeller () Paul really knows how to write an entertaining book. The Amazon is so fascinating that just telling it like it is makes for a great read. I've read a lot of books about the Amazon. This is one of the best ever. I had a blast reading this, couldn't put it down. You'll love Paul's story, style and heart.
Next Best Thing to Being There by .. Christa Hammond () The jungle is not for the faint of heart, but it IS a fascinating, ever-changing place full of unexpected surprises at every turn. This is a great book, full of humor and adventure in the unspoiled wilderness of the Amazon Jungle. Paul has a passion for conservation and teaching others to love the jungle as much as he does.
Amazing Stories, And True by .. Kevin Von Finger (El Paso, Texas USA) As an ecologist I've spent a fair bit of time in the American tropics. Much of that time was spent in the Peruvian Amazon, from the Manu National Park to Iquitos and many rivers, creeks, and lakes in between, some of the time at Paul's lodges. I can speak from experience when I say that what stories Paul Beaver paints in this book are no exaggerations. I was on the Huagramona trip and his chapter only touches on what incredible adventure one can find in this primeval world. I only wish he had more space in the book to devote to each trip's discoveries. This book will make you want to visit the Amazon, and for those who cannot, this book will truly take you there through an explorer's eyes.
An insightful and entertaining look into an area few have visited! by .. Tracy Arnold (Florida) Paul's book of his experiences and the establishment of his Amazonian lodge are delightful. They not only give the reader an inside look into the surprises of life in the jungle but also highlight the warmth and character of the local peoples. I found his book especially helpful and on track as I journeyed to Peruvian jungle to experience the rain forest and its wonderful peoples first hand.
Outstanding, factual stories by .. Manuel Condorcanqui () It is so thoughtful for an American to announce to the world in such glowing fashion the culture and worth of the Peruvian people of which I am. I have visited many of the places mentioned in this book, and have lived in some. This book gives an incredibly accurate account of local folklore and life in the Amazon as lived by its people and fauna. It is a very worthwhile, uplifting book to read and I highly recommend it, especially if you will be visiting Peru.

Product Description Beyond the Calltells the story of the insurmountable challenges that one missionary family faced to take the Gospel to an aboriginal tribe of Indians who had never seen a Bible, never heard the name of Jesus and didnt even have a word for God in their language Beyond the Call is the incredible true story of a courageous, audacious missionary who took his wife and four children deep into the Amazon rain forest to live with a primitive tribe of Jivaro Indians who at that time were still headhunters Beyond the Call tells the story of how God chose a 12yearold boy from an unchurched family and made him a missionary. Harry Flinner is well qualified to tell that story, because that story is his. Customer reviews One Man's Quest by .. chip (Oregon) This book is not a dramatization. It is fact.
It is the story of a man driven by a boyhood commitment, who struggled through France in
Patton's Third Army and upon returning at the end of the war, continued that boyhood quest. It is also
the story of his marriage to a life time partner and their journey together, along with their children, to the
people of one of the greatest river basins on earth. This is a story about man in the developed world,
coming face to face with his most primitive past, and about the unclouded realization that the brutality of
modern warfare has a history as old as man. This is a story of a family's affections for its neighbors
spreading like ripples from a pebble cast in a lake. It is a story of primitive man peering out at a world
that had evolved, watching its rituals of dress and habit.
I have walked in his footsteps, seen the trails that he had traversed and ridden river boats up and
down the Maranon River. That river can bury a town in an instant with its great body of silt drifting
down to the sea. Man's life is but an instant in this, the largest river basin on earth.
