Mandie is more curious then ever 4 by .. Deana Weems (Laurel Mississippi)
When Mandie and her friends discover a large crack in the wall does it mean that the secret tunnel could be falling apart . And the sad past that will be revealed is something you don't want to miss .

This was a good book , but Polly really started to annoy me . I loved the story and history in this book . But I wasn't happy about Mandie going so much against her Uncle John and all the other adults . I kept wanting to tell her so much that she just needed to step aside for a moment . Over all I did greatly enjoy this book , but I just wish Mandie would start obeying more .

I LOVE THIS 1! 4 by .. ()
It was really great! The only thing I didn't like is that Celia is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooostupid! When Jonathan goes to get her & Joe, she says, "Mandie, come on out!" I LOVE it! Whenever I play dolls, I always play Mandie, and I have a Polly! The whole pincushion thing was really interesting!

I don't Know why it has gotten such bad reveiws! 5 by .. Jennifer L. Bouse ()
This book, to me was a very good book. Now, some people have been saying that it wasn't much of a mystery, and no, not as you would think it would be, but it was a mystery about what was behind the tunnel door, and I am very interested in what she found in what she found(yes, I did mean to put that 2 times, it wasn't a typo) in the secret door in the tunnel. I think that it was a very good book and I loved it!!

i was great 5 by .. ()
the book was great i just think they should let Joe and Mandie have some time alone i mean they are such a cute couple but Lois never lets them talk alone anymore!its like she doesnt actualy want them to get married but she keeps making them talk about it and stuff with Johnathon and Ceilya! They need to be alone! My fav part of the book tho is when Johnathon says he is going to mary Mandie and Joe olmost dies. But youll probobly think i am a dork but when mandie started to scream when she found the grave i actualy screamed i mean...i didnt expect to get that cought up in the book...

Hidden Past 4 by .. ()
I agrea with most of the below readers. What is Lois Glady leppard doing! I love most of the Mandie books. Yet ever since Mandie and the Dark Alley ( which was the worst Mandie book in the world! ) the books have gone down hill. It seems that in Lois's aim to make Mandie act older she is making her lose her personality! Mandie doesn't do anything interresting anymore. If any of you have read the Graduation mystery you know that the only mystery was that her dress went missing and like I couldn't guess who took it! Personally I'm so sick of reading about April Snow! I never liked the books with her in them in the first place and now she is going to the same collage as Mandie. I could scream! Oh yay, back to the Hidden Past. This book wasn't tooo bad. It was a little bit slow but over all I LIKED IT. I really liked the part when Jonathan and Joe are fighting over who she is going to marry. I really reccomend this book to you. It not quite as good as some of the Mandie books but not as bad either. I hope you find it interresting. THe ending is a total suprise!

This is THE comic book price guide to own. You've got different experts on comic collecting giving their opinion about collecting comics and also a complete comic book price guide for just about every comic you can think of. Excellent resource!

BEST COMIC GUIDE EVER!! 5 by .. Kirk P. Wilson (Iraq)
This is my first time buying the Overstreet...It's great because the authors realize what a changing investment comics are. So they tell you, 'this isn't the end all guide' but it's the most respected/encompassing guide you'll find. Besides EVERY type of comic, big little books, promotional, victorian age, gold, siver, etc, they also give you a grading scale from .5 - 10 that breaks down what to look for in a fair and balanced grade of a comic. There's a million adds for everything comic related you could ask for, a list of stores around the country (and few around the world), web-sites. A lot of dealer's/collector's/auctioneer's opinions in the year in review...soooo many lists...it's awesome!! If you love comics, loved them and forgot how great they are and are getting back into collection...BUY THIS!! you can't go wrong with buying it every year just to see trends and read some great stories of collections past...Thanks Overstreet!!!

MUST HAVE IF YOU COLLECT 5 by .. S.L. (New York, New York United States)
I have bought the Overstreet Comic Book Guide 3 times now. The 13th Edition 1982, 35th Edition 2005 and the 38th Edition 2008. I seem to buy one whenever my interest in collecting comic books picks up. I like the informative Market Reports by the advisors and have broadened my reading of different genres because of it - right now, bronze age DC horror and westerns. The color pictures are always fun to look at, and the price guide is essential especially if you are buying back issues on ebay or at your local comic book shop. I always find myself flipping through it or looking up a specific title. I highly recommend this book.

Very informative 5 by .. Andy ()

paper is also great. glossy.

All the stories, but doesn't work with Kindle Dictionary 3 by .. Bob Huffman (Los Angeles, CA United States)
I have read most of the Sherlock Holmes stories, and wanted to finish of the series. I enjoyed them, and was hoping to do this on the Kindle. The Kindle Dictionary works on other books that I have downloaded, but not on this piece. That's too bad.

a day with Leonardo 3 by .. Andrew Hume (Calhoun School, New York)

Monday with a Mad Genius is a great book! It's part the great series Magic Tree House,
Written by Mary Pope Osborn. Monday with a Mad Genius is about two people named Jack and Annie. They go in their Magic Tree House and go on a huge journey to Florence, Italy.
There they meet LEONARDO DI VINCHI
And do a week's worth of things in only one
Day. They traveled to a hill to try out his so
Called "flyer" and later in the day Leonardo
Did a self portrait of a woman, and that painting
Is a real painting in real life and is one of the most famous paintings in the history of art. I
Think Mary was trying to say that she was
Really interested in the Renaissance period
And Leonardo Di Vinchi. And she was saying
That you can too, because the book tells you
A little about the time period. So if you like
Fiction books or if you like history (the Renaissance) or if you just like to learn new things you should read this book.

Spies, Poachers and Sundry other Bad Guys 3 by .. Lonnie E. Holder (Sullivan, Illinois United States)
Tony Prito, a good friend of Frank and Joe Hardy, has gone to Alaska for the summer to work as a stream guard for the Fish and Wildlife Service. A week after his departure, Tony sends Frank and Joe a telegram asking for the Hardys' help. The boys break into their piggy banks and have just enough loose change to fly to Alaska.

Once in Alaska, the boys discover that Tony has encountered poachers several times, and the poachers have shot at Tony! As if that was not enough, the boys, including best buddy Chet Morton and new friend Native American Fleetfoot, soon encounter spies and unemployable types helping the spies as well as themselves by robbing Native American burial sites of priceless artifacts. Prior to leaving for Alaska, Frank and Joe heard a news story regarding a rocket launched from White Sands going off course and possibly crashing in Alaska. You can guess that the spies are looking for the rocket.

As with most Hardy Boys mysteries, the boys and their friends are captured, escape, encounter bears, and other interesting and unusual phenomena. In the end the boys summon the cavalry (the real military-type cavalry) to rescue one and all in the nick of time.

I enjoyed this story, which is about average for the series. Because it has been a few months since the last Hardy Boys book I read, the changes in technology were much more evident in this book. Telegrams are rarely used for routine communication, even from Alaska. The metal detectors used by the spies to find the rocket are called mine detectors. Air travel in general is very different from how it is described in this story as well, even excluding the changes since September 2001.

However, the details about Alaska are still generally true. Much of Alaska remains a wilderness, much of it protected. I wondered whether the details regarding the Athapascan Native Americans were accurate, but I was unsure of how to verify those details.

If you like Hardy Boys mysteries, I think you will enjoy this one. Fans new to the series should start with the first books in the series.

The publisher recommends the Hardy Boys series for ages 9 to 12 because the series is relatively tame for the previous target audience of ages 10 to 14. This particular book is a good fit for the new age range. Though the Hardy Boys series contains archaic information, as reading material for an increasingly younger audience they are good. Once a child has reached age 12 or so the stories may be of less interest, but given the combination of mystery and action, these books remain good safe choices for parents who want to know what their children are reading.

It was good but not great. The mystery was good but solved quickly so they had to slow the pace down.

Sweet For Mystery Dwellers! 5 by .. ()
This book was the fifth book I've read in The Hardy Boys. This is probably my second favorite book in this series because I love mysteries. This book has alot of mysteries in it. My favorite part in this book is when the the group meets Tony. My second favorite part in this book is the ending. My third favorite part in this book is the beginning. My Favorite book in this series is The Disappearing Floor. You should read this book. This is a really good book.

Average 3 by .. Scott Thiel (Ontario, Canada)
Published in 1959, this volume was a swift paced adventure set in Alaska. The best part of the book was the middle whereby they walked along a trail through the wilderness for several chapters. I found that entertaining. The end was horrible and thoughtless and really the book at times did not hold my interest. Throw in the good with the bad - I rank this an average book. RATED C

Isela is the loom master! 4 by .. K. Filicetti (Indiana)
when I began my journey into Loom Knitting, Isela's website provided me with so much assistance and wonderful products. I am involved in many looming groups and she is revered highly. I LOVED her first book so I didn't hesitate to put my pre-order in for her second. I like the variety she has included in this new book. A little for everyone. I am looking forward to starting several of the projects. The only negative I personally had is the over-abundance of infant/child patterns. I myself am not interested in these and they do take up a good portion of the patterns. That was my only disappointment. Overall it is a excellent book, and if you don't own the 1st, it is nice that she gives insight of some of the basics/stiches to get you started. Thanks Isela.

Product Description

Livy (Titus Livius), the great Roman historian, was born at or near Patavium (Padua) in 64 or 59 BCE; he may have lived mostly in Rome but died at Patavium, in 12 or 17 CE.

Livy's only extant work is part of his history of Rome from the foundation of the city to 9 BCE. Of its 142 books, we have just 35, and short summaries of all the rest except two. The whole work was, long after his death, divided into Decades or series of ten. Books 1–10 we have entire; books 11–20 are lost; books 21–45 are entire, except parts of 41 and 43–45. Of the rest only fragments and the summaries remain. In splendid style Livy, a man of wide sympathies and proud of Rome's past, presented an uncritical but clear and living narrative of the rise of Rome to greatness.

The Loeb Classical Library edition of Livy is in fourteen volumes. The last volume includes a comprehensive index.

Is Becoming a Christian Worth Losing His Family?

For Jamal and Hameem, The Game starts out as a fun and daring contest between the two young boys to see who could collect more items belonging to the "enemy"—the French soldiers who are keeping Morocco from gaining its independence. For a Muslim to be seen with anything belonging to the infidels is among the most punishable of sins, but the excitement of The Game calls to the adventurous boys, who even risk swiping belongings right off of the French soldiers.

The Game becomes more risky when Jamal begins collecting pictures from the Christian missionary Maude Cary, whom he meets in the marketplace. Surely a whole set of the pictures must be worth enough points to win The Game! Then Jamal realizes that each picture tells a story about Jesus, and he’s torn between believing the missionary’s stories and believing the Muslim way. When a French traitor comes to Jamal for help, will he lead Jamal to the Truth?
